Hi,

this has been probably been asked before but most threads I come across relate to swapping from a old MFSW to a new MFSW.

I have a 2012 A4 B8 pre-facelift model. It has the standard 4 spoke non function steering wheel as seen below:

I was looking to get a flat bottom steering wheel and round airbag to replace my current one. I know most flat bottom wheels have buttons on them but I’ve sourced a round wheel with blanks for the buttons as seen in this link: https://srotas24.co.uk/car-parts/sa...k-steering-wheel-8k0419091bl-10187630994.html

I wanted to know if I was able to just plug and play swap the new steering wheel for the old 4 spoke without any mods? So I wouldn’t be using the buttons on the new ones I’d blank them out, so could I just plug the new one in without a problem? And since I’d be getting a round airbag with dual stage, could I just connect my old dual stage connectors into the new bag and have it work fine?

Any help is appreciated.

It may need wiring changes to make work,

No yours is a 4 spoke that's 3 spoke, airbag won't fit.

Sorry I didn’t word that right.

If the 3 spoke wheel was purchased as well as a 3 spoke bag with correct part number and with the correct bag connections (or I re-used the airbag connections from my 4 spoke) would that still need extra work?

Just buy a complete 3 spoke wheel & fit, may need wiring adaptions if of an A3, at etc but kinda ******* in the wind a little tbh mate when complete used wheels can be found reasonably priced, subjectively of course.

Will see what I can find and work out anyway, thanks for the info!
