Hi all i'm looking at get a de-cat pipe for my03 1.8 T Q. I have been looking around the BAY of E and various other web pages and have noticed the are a fair few different ones out there but generally all look the same apart from the malian one which seems to have more screw ports than all the others (im guessing this is because it is universal) What ones would you guys go with and also any advice would be much appricated.

> I have just had my MOT so know would would be a good time to change over lol.

I fitted one but couldn't stand the exhaust smell.

That's something i did not count on hearing about lol. what de-cat pipe did you use was there any noticable difference- baring the smell lol

It didn't fit properly as the flange was so close to the pipe leaving very little access to tighten properly at the turbo end.
A little performance gain but nothing to get excited about.

AAhhhhh ok so im Guessing the smell would not be noticeable if it was flush? I know I had problems fitting my miltek system to the cat the nut and bolts are ******* to get too plus it didnt help that previous owner had welded a bolt to the cat. I ve been looking around seen I can get the Malian for just under £70 delivered inc tax Not sure it there is a better make out there not

It wasn't leaking but the downpipe was hitting the gearbox mount, so annoying.
The smell was from the rear of the car, stopping at a junction with a window down, enough to make your eyes water

Was it like rotten eggs lol. Not the best when you pull up to lights I bet , trying to roll up instead of complete stop.

No, rotten eggs is a failing cat smell, just unburnt fuel, terrible.

Ahhh ok, yeah not a good smell My old escort rs T used to have a lot of unburnt fuel because I put a flamer kit on it back in late 90's lol

Personally like the smell of car's without cat's smells like a race car :redrs4: in terms of brands would personally say it's best to get an exhaust place to make one up probably cost the same or less and solves fitment issues.

I've ordered one from Kage will be here tomorrow so i have something to do with my day lol. Will post some pics if i can
