What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

It's all a matter of taste and cost, but if I was going for that design it would have to be a set of Audi Sports OZ Racing wheels.

Nice, I do like the Ronal's just a shame they never came in a 19" format and if they did i'd have a set straight away.
I slipped up selling mine , but hey, i'm allways letting kit go and then regretting it..lol

Question though, why another set.

The time and money involved in two tyre swaps a year, I'd justified the cost of a tyre machine and balancer :D But from a space point of view, this made more sense, having a winter and a summer set. The new ones came with brand new premium summer rubber, so my originals with Vredestein all-seasons can come off :)

I still really want a set of these, 19" inovit force 5 , but sadly no longer available .
they have a nice dish and spoke size.

Looks like a bit of paint maybe in order chap, well after you cleaned all that lot down properly so that will use up a few more evenings.:icon thumright:

good work .

Took a side skirt off to tidy up jacking points, was easy enough to take off. Should improve 0-60 times with all that mud/dust removed...

:icon thumright::yahoo:
Have you considered doing the clear corner mod, makes all the difference and just makes the front end look a bit sharper.
personal choice and all that stuff really.

Ive got some plans for the headlights Rob just need a spare set of b7 headlights incase it goes tits up but it involves the oven and some paint lol.

Had a nightmare. I'd read about folk running into issues with early B7's when doing the S4 upgrade. Most just cut some meat out the caliper, which I'm not keen on doing. Even then, the disc still may rub when it heats up.

Probably just going to remain at 320mm discs rather than **** about cutting calipers or swapping them out. Saves a chunk of unsprung weight.... looking on the bright side :(

Are they s4 carriers as that looks a lot closer than a few other s4 conversions I've seen.

Yours is not that early though and all the 2.0tfsi special editions came with the same disc / caliper setup .

Use a heat gun mate it's alot easier and got to be safer for the headlight. I guess your dechroming the internals? I'm wanting to do the same it looks very good.

If it makes you feel any better I have a pair of headlights sitting in my shed, the top brackets are broken though and a small scuff to one of the lenses.
If you were to get in a pickle you could have them if you payed the postage.

To be honest mate I haven’t decided what ill be doing but yeah either way the chrome will more than likely be going black.

Have you got a pic of any done?

Look up Joey mod. You should find plenty of info including diy. Seriously though, if I were you I’d still consider getting some bi Xenons!

Painting until now, but off outside in a bit to start messing around with spacers again.
Seems like a plan to change thickness of spacers on the old bus so out with the assorted items along with suitable bolts, it's bound to go totally tits up for sure..lol

Had a strop after having to refit my old brakes. Started pulling other parts off.

is it a straight bolt on swap or is there mod needed??

Straight bolt in, everything just lines up fine. They seat bases are slightly wider and the seat belt connection on the B8 is far more basic, and not as neat. It just clips on with no cover, doesn't look good, but because of the extra width you can't really see them against the door sill trims. I have to alter my seat electrical connectors over though, because they do differ, depending on your seat functions.
The rears on the other hand.....

Fitted the battered cupra splitter back on much happier now and chucked that monstrosity I had on for a day behind the shed, ill find some use for it, maybe make a shelf or use it for hitting the weird neighbours army of cats when they come and s**t in the garden.

A little before and after of the grille, still need to change the carbon grille wrap to a black optics frame but that's a future job.

Before.

After.

Now that is more like it.:yahoo:

still can't work out weather that's a shadow making your bonnet look like it has a bulge or not, it looks spot on in the first pic but odd in the next, maybe it's my eyes.

Damn it i forgot to look at that today must be the middle bolt on the grille under the bonnet definitely has a slight gap there, ill try remember tomorrow to sort it :icon thumright:

Rob, FYI. I refitted my original brakes today. Had a bit of a strop like I say, and not happy pottering about in the wife's Tiguan for a few days/weeks while I come up with a solution to something that was never really a problem for me. I was only going S4 brakes as the 320mm originals needed replaced so flinging on new carriers for a small upgrade made sense :)

However, for others, I'm positive the S4 discs and carriers were fine and it's a caliper issue. The non-S4 caliper doesn't show a change on my parts catalogue, but the S4 caliper does show a different part number. I've read rumours that the early B7s with 320mm brakes had B6 calipers, then a different manufacturer took over for the rest of the B7 run, despite the PN remaining the same. Makes sense to me, but I can't confirm and I'm all out of legwork.

Some seem to get away with grinding material off the caliper, which I'm sure is fine but it's not for me. I'm not going to bother swapping out calipers unless there's a bigger performance gain. I've got a couple of e-mails out there to see what's do-able on a budget, but think my money might be better spent on good quality parts for the 320mm set up. Anyway, a pic of the disc and carrier so that this post isn't all just waffle :)

I did look at the parts diagram after reading your post re the problematic carriers, there is a change of p/n around and after 2006 so it is possibly an issue that relates to year/manufacture .
Anyway , you tried which is the main thing , just sods law it wouldn't work as expected but that is audi after all.
