There's been some talk of where to install additional gauges. Personally, I think A pillar and air vent gauges take away from the OEM finish, let alone the instrument cluster blocking ones.
I thought I'd share my chosen oil pressure gauge location down in the change drawer by the driver's right knee.
It's a great choice as it maintains, complements even, the OEM finish, is right next to the fuse box to run a live, and also directly underneath the hole in the firewall through the ECU box to run the sender wire. The readout is easily read through the steering wheel when driving.

They look awful well done for getting ridAlong with clearing some fault codes and reconnecting some dodging wiring I decided to add some subtlety to my newly acquired S4...

Leaving these sizeable tin cans to find a new home!

Will be adding something more of an in-between at some point. Possibly some RS4 oval pipes which will involve some custom work with the valance...
My a4 avant b6 2,5v6 Quattro sport, from standard I got her, I’ve purchased and refurbed a set of 19” Rs4 alloys, stage 1 map, mahoooosive air intake and 3inch exhaust cat back but want the whole lot doing now. EBC front and rear drilled and groove disc brakes, Brembo pads and bonnet raise kit. Quattro badges replaced and upgraded and a few other cheeky mods, driver not included

I've used total technic many a time for a quick know how .It really was! Considering electrics is my least favourite thing on cars! There's brilliant guides on YouTube by Total Technik for door card and wiring loom removal for first-timers. If I can do it anyone can!
Only just found this thread, not all done today but in the last few weeks. Little catch up and then can keep up to date.
s4 b6 originally
Rims powder coated anthracite
Leather treatment(autoglym)
New cabin filter
old
new
Always fit K and N(love or hate them). Cleaned up an excess oil(not much on this filter)
Front arches were a tad rusty from liner rub, so these were done as well.
Engine cover fitted
Top left side on its way, hopefully next week
Oil and filter change, only done 3k on previous oil
Replaced the marked headlight switch
New
Standard exhaust swapped for a miltek GT100. Not happy with the too quiet noise of standard, needed to release some v8 noise. Decided on no resonators, absolutely no regrets 2 weeks in.
Issue with temp gauge , intermittent. Would warm to 90, then drop to cold in blink of an eye. Then minutes later fly back to 90. Could stay, or drop at anytime. Knew obviously not a coolant issue, elec side. Could be gauge or sensor. Little google later, the sensor is very common.
Bstard of a job at back of engine, however now the gauge works as should.
Worn parking sensor switch, doing my head in as other than that, minimal wear. Unfortunately only one i could find for now is for L/H/D. But its far easier on my brain for now.
Flat on wrong side, but least not worn through
Lastly, 4 new boots. Decided to try the continental premium contact 6 out, had goodyear on previous. I dont do too many miles, so should last a good few years , even if wear quick. The reviews seem favourable and better lasting than the sport. These are the cross over of contact and sport.
Also rear wiper was stripped, new arm(had to cut old off) fitted in first week. New side light bulbs also fitted, new aero wipers fitted up front.
Thats about it, other than air con service. Fresh 500g back in and flaps reset(blowing slightly warmer on passenger vent).
Cheers
I did a fair bit of research, pollen filter wise, whats up with the one i have? Its OE blue print Oil wise, i know of better oils, but as i plan on changing every 3k miles, no real point. Some of the recommended oils also are not VW spec(502/505) which made me hesitant. Air filter wise, i know K and N are love/hate(maybe more of the latter). But i have fitted K and N for 25yrs and zero issue. Issues tend to happen when people over oil them, then of course contaminate MAF.It's a shame you didn't consult us first then we could of suggested better oil , air filter and pollen filter .
It's not the over oiling it's the amount of extra dust they let pass , quite logical really , to be more free flowing the material has to be more open structure.
All for 1 bhp...
So stock air filter , it's a big size so no restriction .
Pollen , only one to buy as it filters , NOx , ozone and diesel particulates .

Oil , there's a top VW universal high quality oil , 504.00 507.00 that out performs all the rest , that Fuchs is only 502.00 505.01 and not even the slightly better 502.00 505.01 .
There's a massive difference .
