Have you driven much with the mintex pads? Mine squeaked for a good 500 miles until they were worn in

Installed a BMS turbo inlet pipe, 10 min job for much improved the throttle response at low revs, boost feels like it hits earlier as well. Very happy.

Only done around 10 miles tbh, haven’t heard them squeak. Did you fit the shims?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure if the shims were fitted or not as I didn’t fit them, but after a couple of days for the the squeaking was very loud and it took some effort to wear them in... probably a month or two before they stopped squeaking when cold

Nice job - how did you achieve that?
Cheers, started with 400 grit wet and dry until deep scratches were removed then continued with 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 and finally 3000 followed by a good metal polish.

Took my turbo out to upgrade it in a few weeks.

Next few days hoping to do some more sound deadening and rehookup my e85 analyser.

What did you do to seal it? Clear lacquer?
I had a small bottle of lacquer from ebay with a brush but when applied it looked a mess so had to re-sand and polish, going to get a spray can to get a good finish.

That’s interesting because I touched over some small chips on my DC alloys with lacquer to repent water penetration but after a few weeks it all went “milky”.......

Not a lot apart from watched it gather dust, couple of things i want to do but looking for best place and price to get them.

Gloss black badges for front and back as audi want £40 each and am not wanting to pay that. Some short plates in 4d gel. And some Audi puddle lights.

Freshmodsuk on Instagram! Can't fault the quality, good value too. Got rings and badges for my S3 and S5. They also do plates.

Managed a 4.38 second 0-60 mph launch control test. IE Stage 1 high torque with DSG tune (3200 rpm version).
Seems reasonable, albeit high for a Stage 1 tune. Maybe tires were too cold.

Dash Command iOS app using a OBD2 Wi-Fi dongle.

Sorry if I’ve missed it, but is that an otherwise standard S3 saloon (judging by your profile pic)?

Cleaned my steering wheel. Was watching YouTube and a tip came up that a magic eraser/sponge with just water can clean/ de grease the wheel. As I'm getting a new wheel soon when were out of lockdown I thought I'd give it a go. I have to say. It worked a treat. Very light rubbing with a wet sponge for a few seconds and dry with a microfiber towel. Big difference. If you do and it messes up I hold no responsibility.

Not driven the car much with everything that’s going on at the moment but I did get round to fitting the extended leather on the centre console, grabbed a bargain full centre console on eBay for only £60 so thought it was worth the plunge.

There’s a few guides on here that I followed but it took me a good few hours and did have to go back and re-glue one side as it had lifted slightly but it’s now stuck down solid so I’m happy. Think it looks miles better than the previous plastic trim and it no longer squeaks!

Just need to source some leather door cards for a 3 door next, and maybe try wrapping the interior trim in carbon fibre also keep getting tempted by RS3 style grills!

Cheers mate :icon thumright: Might have to take a look, think the S3 fitting is a bit more complicated and needs more ‘modification’ than the S5 from what I’ve seen which is my only concern. Mind you I’d be getting my local body shop to take on the job once we get back to normal anyway!

Hi . I am thinking of this mod .the leather console sides . If you e bought a complete console can you not just exchange without remove and re fixing the knee pads ? Thanks

I could potentially have done but it would have meant ripping out the whole of my centre console which would have been a lot more work I think.

Also the centre console I bought was from a 2016 RS3 (PFL) and with my car being a Facelift I wasn’t sure things like my wireless charging pad in the armrest would be a straight swap and didn’t want to run into any issues.

Thought this would help because I followed the video and it was better then other videos encourage you to bend the hinges in and risking you to snap the hinges!

I was searching ages for a tutorial video and I think this covers everything.
