What did you do to your audi today

Had the gearbox oil changed and struggled to pinpoint the source of an increasingly annoying creak from the front suspension (I think). All bushes appear to be in reasonable shape.

DGS gearbox oil changed yesterday, as well as aircon serviced.
Tomorrow is a retrimmed steering wheel from Royal Steering wheels!

Job done.
Matches nicely with the door card inserts too.

Visited D.H.Henderson Automotive (site sponsor) for a full service, rear brake pads and rear diff oil change. Impressed by staff and service and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for an alternative to their main dealer in Central Scotland.

Deleted my rear wiper. The motor had seized leaving the wiper arm diagonally across the window. The hose was also split, so all in all pretty useless!

Instead of replacing/refurbishing it all I just spent £2.50 on a rubber grommet and got rid!

Pretty happy with the new look!

Well not today but tomorrow will see a visit to MRC for a pulley upgrade and stage 2 tune.

I have owned the car since the end of Oct and have serviced it fully with all the oil changed so now is time to see what it will do when in the hands of the pro's.

I will report back tomorrow

Hello all,

Anyone knows a solution for tinted headlights so that you don’t lose headlights luminosity? Are there any good quality LED bulbs or HID that will truly compensate the loss of lights power when you tint the headlights?

Cheers,

Andrei

I like a good cosmetic mod as much as the next guy but I'd never contemplate anything that reduced the car'sfunctional capacity. Anyway, your car looks great; why make it look like a Halfords special?

I have tinted the headlights (that pic is before) but I’m not happy that headlight power is drastically reduced so I was wandering if any one had the same issue and found the solution in order to keep the tint - otherwise will be £40 throw in the bin!

Any tint on headlights will always reduce the light output. With the greatest respect, I thought everyone would know this.

Not today but another 'subtle' mod and tbh, it compliments the white and black edition. Oh, and definitely matches the ECS rear diffuser and CF supercharged badges

You're still modding when you're trying to sell? :)

. Tis a bug Jeff. And decided to not sell the car - the deal fell through as the person buying wasn't budging on the price and wanted to pay me for a map tweak, which was his problem. Apparently, BP Ultimate is the only performance fuel they do in NI.

I took time off work, had booked in the car with MRC for the map tweak as well as to add another 12 months MoT. I am not going to put the car on AT so, it is staying put

I keep looking at those thinking yes, then no, then yes.

My daughter even says that the silver mirrors look out of place on my S4, but the silver mirrors are what identifies the S and RS models, but carbon is what they should have come with from the factory in my mind, especially the "Black Editions".

I completely understand where you are coming from and it is precisely the reason why I didn't change the caps earlier - I bought these a little over 18 months ago, ceramic coated them and put them in th box again

And even when I did change the other week it was with the view that the silver ones would go back on if I didn't like them - and tbh, I believe these look better then the OE ones. Plus these add a bit of a 'surprise' element as well

Mmm,Ebay specials?
Fit, finish, quality?

Mines a Missano Red Black Edition so I think they would blend in quite nicely

Did you happen to find out the source of squeek? I have the same issue but you can hear it only when going over a speed bump at higher speed.

Nope, not yet. Haven't had a chance to get the car jacked up and take a look myself yet. Issue is gradually getting worse so something has to give, hopefully before my patience which is wearing thin with it.

Yes, eBay special and I bought them off someone on FB S4 group who I wouldn't mention here on ASN . I will share the eBay seller's details tomorrow.

Finish, quality and fitment is spot on, no issues whatsoever.

I believe it would look great with Red especially with the black edition.

replaced my brake fluid with Motul RBF660 using the Sealey VS820 bleeding system. Hardest part was finding something to suck out old break fluid from reservoir! (ended up using old hand wash mechanism!)
Then of course the obligatory test drive to make sure they still worked :racer:

Fitted a set of carbon paddle extensions at the weekend. They fit good and don’t have any grub screws marking the front of the original one.
They give just the right amount to be able to hold the wheel a little higher than normal which helps on the twisty stuff.
I did find them a little to smooth and slippy so added some wet and dry to the rear of them to add grip.
I got these from AliExpress

Hi mate,

Looks nice
What camera are you using? Do you have a rear one too? Are you happy with the image quality? Did you installed it, and if yes was it hard?

Cheers

It’s just an eBay cheap one. Picture isn’t to bad really but it is just a front one. I might get a new one in the future but for now it’s ok. I mainly got it for driving in Europe
I did install it and yes it’s easy. You can feed it from the right side cues box and run the power cable under the trim and roof lining.

you can buy power adapters that plug into the empty fuse

I spent the entire afternoon/evening with my S3; Felixstowe to Lytham St Annes in 9 hours!!! 1.5hrs sat in a jam on the A14 near Cambridge, then a diesel spillage on the M6 north so decided on M1/M62. Then there was an accident on the M1 about a mile in front of me. Stuck for another hour plus. By the time I got to the M62, the weather was absolutely horrendous. I detoured for a pit stop near Bradford and an 8 car accident happened right in front of me (aquaplaning to blame I think). Thank God I love being in that car! It served me well last night and got me home safely.

One week of ownership, so time for some little changes. Debadged the rear then changed the interior and number plate bulbs for LEDs
