Hi guys.

I'm new to this so bare with me.

I have a 54 plate audi a4 1.8T

The xenon headlights seem a bit dim to me.

I want to be able to get the brightness you do from HID lights.

Ideally I'd like 5000k colour and bigger brightness.

Am I right in saying that HID can't be fitted to xenon?

Do I need to but a new set of lights clusters with this modification built in?

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can purchase a set?

I also want to upgrade the foglights. I believe I can fit HIDS to these.

Thanks alot

Mmm...

I've noticed that alot of xenons are white light, not yellow.

Can I buy new clusters with better brightness?

Can xenon lights be upgraded with new bulbs and ballasts?

Seems like I just need to upgrade the xenon bulbs.

Thanks

Higher the kelvin the less light output you'll get, so 5k will be less than 4300, stock is 4300, change bulbs 1st.

OK great thanks. Can you recommend a descent site for ds2 bulbs or specific make.

Thankyou

I had hid factory fit on my accord type r but because its old it had the typical halogen headlight design headlights covers so you never got the full benefit of a hid bulb i upgraded mine to 8000k and it made a huge difference in brightness and looked a million times better, keep in mind though that was behind an old style light not these newer clear headlight lenses so i doubt you would need anything more than 5000k to see an improvement over stock.

That's excellent.

Tbh you have confirmed what I was thi king anyway. I have also adjusted my headlights up slightly which has help but I think I will definitely go for the 5000k built. I believe the xenon bulbs are ds1?

Thanks for r the support
