And to think people on here said I was talking rubbish about checking your tyres on full lock.

I could see it on full lock.
This was quite a good pic of mine as you can see the core tread and wear indicators, then how bad it is at edge.

Doesn’t seem to happen to more square shoulder tyres.
A friend has MPS4S and has no issues and I’ve got Supersport Goodyear’s with no issues.
The Pirelli angle shoulder design does it no favours.

I've just had the MPS4S fitted, and granted with very limited tresting so far, I can already notice the grip difference, it is insane, not to mention that I can go on full lock without feeling like i'm kangaroo jumping along the road!
Something is definetly not right with the Pirelli set up... These are my REAR tyres!!

Did you opt for the 235 or 245 MPS4S? Going to change mine soon and not sure what choose.

I went for the 235 all round mate. I don't think from what i've heard on this forum, friends or even the tyre places on my choice that I will have any regrets. And I thought the Pirelli's weren't bad, seems I was pretty wrong.
Cheers mate. Yeah that’s my thoughts also. Everyone I speak to couldn’t recommend these enough so I’ll give them a go.

Good to hear but how’s the road noise in comparison as heard somewhere the MPS are quite loud?
I took my MPS4S's back off and went back to the Pirellis because the road noise off the Michelins was awful. Seems like I'm one of the only people having this issue though as pretty much everyone else thinks they are wonderful.
You aren’t on your own.
I just went in a different direction to the Michelin crowd lol.
No complaints from nearly a year on Goodyear Supersport F1’s.

Yup wishing I had taken your advice bud, when I sell on the Michelin's the Goodyears will be my next choice once the Pirellis are done.
I wouldn't get too worried the vast majority swear by them, many of whom think they are quieter than the Pirrelis, they just weren't in my case.
I notice that the 255/30/19 Goodyears are now available too.
However, they are rated at 73 dB. Michelin PS4S are at 71 dB and the OEM Pirellis at 69 dB.
So, assuming that this is an A-Weighted noise value, the Goodyears are more than twice as loud as the Pirellis.

I’ve noticed no increase in road noise on the Goodyear’s, prefer the square set up too.
I remember on the 8P when I changed to MPSS and did have more road noise.

Well i'm due new tyres and this thread is confusing!
I'm considering just going for the PZero and getting an alignment and starting "from right" ... the car was second-hand and the rubber isn't in the best shape.
Now i'm tempted to go square or get MPSS ... choices choices!
My gut says give fresh Pirelli a go and then risk a change if they give me any issues.

The grip levels on the PS4S are levels above P Zero's in both the wet and the dry. Tyre life is reported to be better as a whole too. I would never go back to P-Zeros.
@wuta3 The PS4S are incredible, I would never revert back to Pirelli, don't get me wrong, I thought they were good, but this is just another level and an eye opener.
I have heard good things about the Goodyear F1's too and a friend has them on his M140.
The best bet is to just go for a set of the PS4S or the Goodyears and try them out, both are an improvement on the Pirelli set up and you wouldn't regret either.
I would however stick to a square set up rather than staggered though as I have heard of issues with changing from Pirelli and keeping staggered, that said there are also some people with issues even then...

I had a set of MPS4S (4x 245/35) installed last week, after doing ~29K on P-Zero's.
Absolute game changer.... I know the phrase gets thrown around a lot, but the difference is night and day. Much better turn in, more support on the front during cornering, massively improved wet weather performance; and little (if any) noticeable noise difference.
Note: I always drive with ESP in Sport (single click)

I used to run F1 Asym 3 on my 8P and they were great. Sounds like "suck it and see" just don't go Pirelli
I'm on a staggered setup currently which is a bit of a pain
Not really as I’m on staggered and decided to fit 235 all round with no issues at all.

On the 255/235 staggered setup (I think most are tbh). Both 235 and 245 square setups work for the MP4S. Just don't try to replicate the staggered tyre setup on anything other than the P-Zero R02's
Ah OK, that makes more sense based on the other 14 pages of this thread. Lucky I didn't click buy on those MP4S in staggered!
So I had new rubber fitted today. All Pirelli tyres had this going on inside:
Some were split like this all the way around. None have been ran with low pressures AFAIK.
There was inner edge wear too, but I don't know the mileage of these tyres so can't comment too much. Just something to maybe watch out for?

Must be a Record. Majority of the use on Town/City Driving or Highway/Motorway driving ?

I’ve done 8k and just had a check at Audi, 6mm on rears and 5.5mm on fronts, surprised to be honest!

I did 17000 miles on my Pirelli’s on the TTRS. They were like new! Must be something to do with the way the RS3 is set up.
Don't trust Audi to check them, they said my tyres were good but completely ignored the inner edge wear.
Exactly, the "main" treads are fine and last a good amount of time, it's the inner edges that are the problem.
