2.5tdi Misfire

My Audi A4 b6 2.5tdi sport has developed a misfire and it's gone into LIMP HOME MODE along with the engine management light on, I put the car I into a garage & picked the car up 6 days ago. Yesterday it's gone back to how it was when it was in the garage, I've been back to the garage 3 times & each time I've been fobbed off.
The car is FWD Manuel, has anybody had a similar problem ???.

You need to get it read for fault codes, & go from there.

Diesels cant misfire, more than likely a knackered injector.

What are the symptoms

You would need VCDS to log each injector and see which one is different, or another method is to unplug them one by one and see which one is off. The faulty one wont make a difference, the good ones unplugged will make it worse.

You could also try unplugging the MAF sensor and see if it runs any better.
