So earlier I mashed the throttle in the mildly damp conditions, straight line and (with a bit of a squirm, the odd traction control icon flash) the car put the power down no problem.

I lifted off, no upshift, still in the power band and then went about half throttle ... but the car just totally ignored the pedal input and flashed traction. And then again.

I had to wait for the car to get its **** together coasting for about 5 sec before the accelerator pedal was anything but ignored.

Anyone else experienced this? Normal car character?

On my pfl this would happen but not 5 seconds. But even in normal conditions it just didn’t react when I went full throttle and tc would kick in and just override everything.

I turn tc completely off now as soon as I get in the car and haven’t had any issues. Putting it in sport also did the trick but would still occasionally trigger the light

Hmm, tbh it could've been less than 5 seconds. Either way, it just felt mad that it totally ignored the pedal. I was in Sport/Dynamic too. I'd rather it accepted pedal input, span wheels and then backed off, at least I can feel what's going on.

I used to get this. Massively OTT traction control. I wouldn't worry about it.

Think the other chap means "sport mode" as in one press of TC rather than "sport" gearbox.

I’ve experienced this a hand full of times, mainly in damp conditions. Like a lot of people on here have experienced; the traction control can be massively intrusive.

When I know I’m going to give it some beans, I’ll always turn it off to avoid this. Plus, I find it’s much more enjoyable with it off - unleashes the beast.

Ah I didn't know that was a thing, I shall mess about with that. Cheers

One press is "sport mode" so TC is looser but still there. Hold for a few seconds and TC is off.

I changed my tyres to MPS which used to light up TC all the time. One press of TC and it didn't trigger.

Yes, this drives me insane. I can;t use the car with the TC on now. I just turn it off as soon as i want to give it some... (when i say turn it off, i mean one press so it's less restrictive).

Pressed it once. Worked a charm. I can now shred my rubber on command. Awesome.

They aren’t drivable with TC after mapping. It’s pointless as all it does is limit throttle constantly.

Every time I get in mine it goes straight in dynamic and one press of the TC.

I’m about to go Stage 2 but even on Stage 1 it’ll spin up all four wheels in second in the damp. The thing you have to watch is the up shits while it’s spinning up, it’s easy to confuse the gearbox, I’ve thought I’ve upshifted two gears in the past and it’s still been in the same gear - best thing to do is to come off the throttle altogether.

It does sound naughty when it spins up in the wet, whips up the revs and backfires though :tongueclosed:
