also interested in these wheels but on a 2010 Black Edition sportback

Hello.
I found a photo of a car on rims Lenso superlight 18 "x8.5" et40 225/40/18 in your topic on page 73.
I ordered myself similar disks, but with the parameters 18 "x8.5" et38.
I think I will take tires with a dimension of 225/40/18.
The car will be on suspension Bilstein B8 + X & R (35mm).
From the answers further, I realized that the owner was rolling caliper.
My question is - without rolling the caliper, will the wheels rub the caliper?
I wanted to write a personal message to KurtisBye, but your forum did not allow to do this ((
Sorry for the spelling, I use Google Translate))
Car is A3 8p 3dr

Anybody got any photos of their car with the TT 10 spoke speedline wheels? I caught a glimpse of an S3 with these on and I actually rather liked the way they looked. Almost reminded me of the 8L wheels! Photo pulled from the internet for reference.

Anyone selling or swapping some 19inch v spokes? Very interested.....Anyone have pics of them on an A5?

Hello All,

Im looking at a set of 19x8.5 ET43 BBS Speedline alloys for my S3. Does any one know if these rims will fit over a big brake kit? I'm running Yellow Speed Racing 6pots and 365mm rotors but will be changing to TTRS calipers.

I'm currently running 18x8 ET45 Oz Ultraleggeras and there is plenty of clearance but I've hearing mixed messaging on the BBS ET43.

TIA,
Sam

hi Cjards!

not sure about option 1 but with regards to option 2, yes you can with this fitment. I’m running 18x8.5j et35 with 235/40/18, but will require slight trimming of the fender liner both front and rear and the removal of the arch screw. Camber settings are at - 1.5 all round.

Rotiform RSE alloys 19” x 8.5

225/35/19 Yokohama tyres

BC BR coilovers

Front and Rear arch liner screws had to be removed and rear arch liners needed trimming slightly to stop rubbing.

No rubbing now even over bumps!

Totally agree. Finding a 8' wide wheel was way more difficult than I thought.

I can safely say that an 18 x 8 48 offset won't rub at all. Even with the boot loaded and two kids at the back. Would have liked the wheels to poke a bit more but not at the cost of rubbing.

How much does these go for if refurbished/prestine condition as im looking to get rid of mine on my s3 and have a buyer lined up who wants them

Currently have the standard 18" rotors on my s3 sitting on stock springs and 15mm bimmec spacers all round rear do rub a little only over humps when you go over them a little too quick otherwise no real issue.

If im not wrong these are currently 7.5j, im currently looking at some bola b1s or japan racing jr11s also 18" but 8.5j.

Question is i cureently have fairly new michelin ps4's all round and dont fancy buying new tyres.
1. Will my current tyres stretch enough onto this rim?
2. Will the rubbing get worse
3. and is there a downside to stretching the tyre should i just get wider tyres 235 or 245

Any help is greatly appreciates and i can understand this has probably been cover alot of times so sorry if ive missed it

Well the best place to start is here...

I'm going to hazard a guess you're running OEM tyre sizes (225/40/18) and that you want the JR11's with an ET of 40?

You should be fine using your tyres but... you will have stretch and another place to look will be the internet again for what that may look like....

Thats a fair bit of stretch tbh, but thats how a Michelin reacts to being stretched, other brands don't react like that.

Appreicate your reply mike didnt think anyone was going to post a response to me post lol.

Yer i did check this out originally with bola b1s and i think they had an et of 35, so i called up alloybase and they confirmed i can use my oem spec tyres (mich PS4) no probs on a 8.5J alloy my concern was with the safety of tyre stretch as i dont want to take a corner and lose my tyre .... mid turn
So the alternative was jr11s as theyre have a 7.5 and and 8J version

Believe me, you'll be fine with that stretch in terms of safety, I had a Clio years ago running 165/40/15's on a 7j wheel, i used to chuck that about as a 19 year old.

Hey all, I’ve just bought an 09 s3 and it had already been lowered- unsure on what, but looks to just be standard amount not super low. I’m booked to get Niche Vossos fitted on the weekend but now I’m wondering if I’ve added the wrong size to cart. I’m sticking with 18s and I chose 18 8.5 40offset but after reading thru this thread I’m wondering if I change to 18 8 42 offset? I also chose the same size Tyres already on my car as they look and feel a good size 225/40/18. Any feedback or suggestions? Swap to the 8 back space and 42 offset? Thanks

Ok I never got a reply to the above but thought I would update, I went with 18 8 42 offset, I got Niche Vossos, very happy. 225/40/18 tyres. No rubbing but then I’m not super low either.

Rial Lucca: 8(?)x18 ET39 wrapped with 235/45s (obviously they rub in the back on bumps or hard accelerating).
As soon as weather permits I'll replace the winter rubber with smaller summer treads (225/40/18)

As an aside, this has been my first winter with Quattro and I'm never going back!

This is my S3 8p 08' prefacelift.
I'm the owner since 2018 and I think it was time to refresh the stock wheels .
Got the JR37s for a bargain and they look really nice in this colour .
Next step is to lower the car a bit and look even better .
19' would be much more elegant but I live in very bad roads so I had to stick with 18''
