POTENTIAL NEW CUSTOMERS: Tell us when you're going to want your next quote and we'll remember so you don't have to.

Hi, did you know there are two ways you can schedule a call back from us via our website?

We know some members forget to include Chris Knott when they're looking for car insurance quotes even though they fully intended to. We've fixed that for you with these two options:

On our brief web form you can log your renewal month with us NOW and we'll call you at the right time to offer a quote - then you don't have to remember to call us! Give us your renewal month now to put the ball in our court and guarantee that you'll get a CK quote when the time comes (even if it's 11 months away) - https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/CarQuote/?ref=renlog. Obviously, you don't need to do this if you're already insured with CK as we'll automatically invite your renewal about 21 days early.

You can also schedule a quote call back for any time in the next 3 days by using our web widget that pops up when you're on certain pages of our website such as https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/car_insurance.html. You'll be able to choose the day and the 15-minute time slot that suits you. You can also use it to trigger an instant call from us (well, within 27 secs or so). Great huh?

Please remember to mention this forum when you speak to us so we can make sure we quote you under our special car clubs/enthusiasts facility.

If you'd prefer to call us you can on 0800 917 2274.

best,
Nick

Tried to get a quote last year and was told you don’t you don’t cover manchester, has that changed yet?

The message is never that we don't insure Manchester postcodes, it's a case of insurers stipulating overnight parking requirements in some M postcodes such as garaging or driveway that individual customers can't comply with. There are some M codes where they'll refuse cover altogether but it's not the case that we can't do ANY.

So is M19 covered car park on drive way wasn’t last year so not sure if it’s worth trying

What's the next digit in the postcode - insurers go down to the sector digit in making their decision? Nothing will have changed from last year but I do just want to check we got it right before saying no again.

Yeah it’s not a bad area really it’s not exactly a rough area and it’s less than a mile to Stockport which seem to be a hotspot for thieves
Never mind thanks for checking for me

Quite a lot of cars parked on the streets = higher than usual car theft opportunities?
Do you have trouble getting a quote with insurers?

Nope never don’t even know anyone who struggles for cover , burnage isn’t a bad area not like it’s newton heath or similar

So why can’t CK provide a quote? This is why I won’t even bother with the so called specialists these days. No proper online quoting system, basket-case risk profiles and mental pricing. Adrian Flux wanted £3000 and a tracker fitted. Aviva wanted £600 for the year with all mods covered.

Can’t speak for CK specifically this time but have tried them in the past and have never once had a policy. Rather than a “catch all” approach I feel that these companies should be a bit more open about the types of risks they really want to cover instead of wasting peoples time going through antiquated telephone quoting processes only to spit out a mental price at the end.

Hi.
I'm sorry we couldn't help with a competitive quotation.
Regards,
Dan.

So why can’t CK provide a quote?...

Unfortunately there are some risk profiles that insurers won't accept. You see it on the online quote engines too, reflected in ridiculous prices that you're never going to take. The clubs and enthusiasts scheme we offer does benefit many members with great quotes and that has to be protected by not taking on what have historically been proven to be riskier profiles.

I agree Evil Derboy, tried both of the companies you mention. One wouldn't offer a quote because my partner didn't have enough experience driving a high performance car and the other was significantly more than less well known insurers.
P.S if your broker offers you a quote with www.markerstudy.com/ do some research first, you may think twice.
Best (not cheapest) I went with is Audi insurance.

Thought I'd check here before I need to get a quote for my new A3 in April. From brief things I've read do you not cover SK8 which is Cheadle. Or you're not competitive in?

TIA

Hi, I'd need to know the digit after the space in the postcode (or you can PM me the full postcode) to check what the overnight parking requirements are for your sector.

best,
Nick

prob gonna try a quote off CK next time around, but this time around i took my brokers advice and tried Sky insurance; they wouldnt touch the OL4 postcode, so i tried flux, whom previously insured a 205dimma [ or tried, pm for the story ;) ] who came back with a quote of 600+ with 13 years ncb, private drive, tracker etc, so i tried net based, and got fully comp, mods declared and like for like for 330 per year.

heck even tesco would insure me for an evo when most performance wouldn't look at me.

Niether sky or Chris knott can insure my postcode but Adrian flux were 750 with stage 1 declared and 7 years ncb, il never get insurance that cheap in Manchester currently have to pay £1k to insure the r32 which is a joke considering 7 years ncb, a ****** c63 was £100 cheaper to insure whe I was tempted to trade it in
