I've just finished doing the clutch on my mum's 63 plate Audi TT TFSI (it's FWD so the lesser one I believe?)...

Upon starting it up there appears to be a rather audible rattle coming from the inlet manifold area... I never heard the car running before I did the clutch and I'm 99% certain this is not related to anything I've done with the car. Also you can't really hear it with the bonnet closed so she wouldn't have noticed it.

Are there any known things that could be causing this?

I do have a video of the noise... Will try upload in from my phone

TIA

I will agree, very not normal! . . I've tried honing in on the sound with the old long screwdriver trick and I don't think it's coming from the valve-train though :/
Well youre inlet mani is pretty much directly over your valve train so it can be anything from broken spring, tappit rod etc. If yoj can try take the mani off to see if you can see anything, assuming your not low on oil, low oil would make it run dry and noisey too excuse the ***** grammer on a ladder installing a centrifugal extractor fan

Thanks! . . I did also consider the swirl flaps myself. I'm not exactly sure how they work on the TFSI though.

Car still runs and dirves fine... It's a very low milage vehicle also

Yea just get it checked out for peace of mind probably take it off and tighten it if you can or get a second hand inlet mani of ebay or something
