Can you put larger rotors on (345mm) if I attached the standard calipers with longer carriers to the hub?

I don’t think it will work if you use the same caliper and extend the bracket, as the disc is bigger and the contact area will be off slightly. But I could be wrong.
I’ve just purchased some RS4 calipers to go on mine (3.0tdi). Done a dry fit and everything fits perfectly. Although I probably would have got the S4 calipers if I’d known how much the RS4 discs and pads were before hand! You’ll probably need to get some bigger dust shields to go behind the discs.

I only wondered because you could on the vw golf, a 288mm disc up to 312mm by just changing the carrier, it was a popular mod since you only needed a larger disc and the correct carrier while everything else stayed the same

It could work, I just thought as the circumference was changing the pad wouldn’t match the same.I’ve not heard of anything on here about people doing it, on a b9 anyway. If no one has said anything by now they probably won’t. I asked a few months ago about getting RS4 calipers and not one person responded. In fact I’ve asked a few things and no one said anything, maybe I’m asking the wrong questions!

Or unfortunately no-one can help because we've not experienced those sorts of mods...

Mmmmm, really strange that there is no definitive answer from such a focused group of like minded people; perhaps VW followers are more adventurous! Guess I'll have to see if the caliper part number and pads are the same, if they are then it will save a heap of faff and money.

It's just that I see this also as a strange mode for what is only a 150ps diesel and I find my brakes fine for road work. If you were to look at improving the brakes personally I'd look at the pads. Some have changed those in this forum so you'd probably get advice with that...

The car is remapped to just under 200ps, so just wondering......

Try youtube .... I know some issues have been that the calipers fouled the wheels so spacers were needed .
Not done this myself just recall youtube .

Another option would be to buy EBC red stuff pads and get their quiet slotted discs. It’ll give you better stopping power over just doing a slightly bigger brake upgrade. EBC now do the front pads and discs which just got released at the end of last year.

Cross reference what your dimensions are for your car. https://ebcbrakesdirect.com

Mine's at 250ps and the brakes are fine as long as you don't drive like you were on a racing track.
But as stated above, and previously changing the pads can help...
