What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

Weekly clean of the wife's a3 in gale of wind.

And again a polish of scratches where she drags bags across the bumper

Brave Jassy, otherwise she'd take it to the car wash if I don't do it and to be honest enjoy cleaning the cars. Rained after but never mind atleast all the mucks off.

Well a stupid Scot went out and washed his car late this afternoon around half 2....windchill Zero degrees...snow foamed it then washed it.... Well all l say is Car Pro Hydro Lite 2 has as much staying power as a 16 year old virgin...good job av run out of it...wont be buying it again....Anyways an Executive decision has been made...l am going to coat the car come the spring...with a good ceramic coating or a Graphene coating as our Jon from the FDC is raving about, of course its going to get a full machine polish prior to application....keeping this car for another year...well...until the new Saloon arrives....lol

I also watched the Graphene video by Jon @ FD. Very interesting, and Jon seemed very impressed by it. One to keep an eye on.

Yeah I thought the same about hydro lite 2.
£20 pernlitre and its ****.
Far better products for less than half of that ****.

I haven't done anything this week but I'm contemplating re-doing the protection as the beading 'slowed' down abit... I bought a DAS6 recently and I'm looking to apply some Menzerna power lock. However, there is still abit of the caranauba left on the paint, will it need removing before applying the sealant? Cheers!

Cleaned in side the fuel flap, it’s the little things

need to get a new rubber strap for the cap

Full wash today after gym, good way to keep the blood pumping ;)

Washed off dirt, snow foam, citrus cleanser, iron fall out remover & alloy cleaner, shampoos then hydbrid coating and speciale ceramic detailer on top of that.

Not enough time to do the inside but that’ll be sometime this week...

Been a while since I had an Audi. Bought a MY17 A4 TDI 190 S alone just before Xmas. For a 3 year old car the paintwork is awful, but it’s white so looks okay (hence why I went white, after two black cars my paintwork OCD needed a break!

So whipped out the rotary and Sonax Perfect Finish today after a wash, de-tar, de-iron and clay. Protected with Sonax Protect and Shine NPT for the rest of the winter.

Gave her a quick wash - found some new damage on the front bumper !
Grr

had it remapped , taken from 184bhp to 260bhp
Made a bit of difference !

did have some detailing done on myself mind !
Which joins my other Polynesian bits that will end up as a chest and back set

Gave it a much needed wash. Started with the clay, polish and wax after washing but the weather turned after a couple of panels.

Looked out the DA and checked stock for when I can get a full day at it. Been a few years since I last used it.

Any tips for Audi paint? Currently got Menzerna PF2300 and SF4500 to play with.

Took me bl oo dy ages. Its even bigger than my X3 ***!
Got to use one of my fave shampoo's which I haven't used for some time - AutoBrite banana gloss hyper concentrated shampoo
Considering there's no protection on the paint work it wasn't to bad TBH
I was going to give it a coat of BSD but didn't get the time

If I didn't know already I know why I won't have a black car lol

You'll get by with no problems using the pf2300 as a cutting compound but more importantly what pads will you be using ? I recommend the Flex purple cutting pad great pads and extremely durable well worth the money
As for a finishing compound Menzerna 3500/3800 either will do
Pf4500 is that not an acrylic coating with no cut....? I think you'll need a final finishing compound of the likes of 3500/3800 after using the pf2300 then apply the pf4500

Thanks, got some 3800 in my shopping basket along with a 3" backing plate and pads to go with. This car has more awkward areas than my last one.

The pads I have are pretty non-descript but I have a black waffle finishing pad, yellow polishing pad and white compounding pad which came with the DA.

Shopping around for recommended pads at the minute.

The absolute dirtiest this car has ever been.
Been busy at work and then the weather was grim

Snow foamed, TF"d then washed and quick wax. Now pouring down, but atleast the mucks off.

You have OCD issues if you want to clean the underside and I AM PROUD!!!! I use a lift and power wash and then use a trim restorer and metal polish for the pipes and resonator. No one sees the undercarriage but when my tech does work, he is proud of me. I even had the dogbone powder coated black and no one even sees it. Nothing car related bother me more than to see another Audi on the lift and looking at the disgusting display of disrespect for the brand!!!!

Snow foamed with AG Polar Blast, and washed with an AG shampoo. Then coated with Gyeon wet coat and rinsed with filtered water. Was going to tackle the CLA after but now now it’s raining so that’ll have to wait.
