A 2018 SQ5 for a 2016 plate RS6?. RS6 is a car i've had the itch to scratch for many years now & a garage local to me has the one i'm looking at for a good price & it's only done 21,000 miles. Decent spec & the performance model also.
Only thing it's obviously been replaced by the new model which might hit prices of the older model even harder?.
Thoughts please?.

Yes if only for the experience, lol. But you need to run both back to back as we've done and then decide what's best for you in your 'own' circumstance: I was seriously tempted by the RS7 for several years - as posted here on ASN many times following ASN 'dealer experience events' but in 2015, as reported (SQ5 arriving soon...), after the RS7, RS5, S1, and S8 we were persuaded to try the SQ5, something I'd never(!) imagined I'd be interested in, and here we are, 10-months later and 100% contented so much so that our RS3 and TT are just gathering dust!

ASN meeting At Wychwood Park October 2014, a cracking piece of machinery:

RS6

So for us, no, we wouldn't swap a 2016 SQ5 for a 2016 RS6, tasty as an RS6, and that installed V8 twin turbo motor :thumbs up: is...

But single figure mpg in FUN mode for a 70+ year old is a bit naughty... :racer:

No. From what I've read, the RS6 is a pretty blunt instrument. Fast is all it does. If you want involvement with your car look elsewhere.

.........:thumbs up: going to test drive it, if it doesn't sell before Saturday. Would i still be able to get an extended warranty from Audi or would i have to go independent with it coming up to 4 years old now?.

An RSQ3 is more agile than an SQ5 and that's for sure, as is an RS3 of course; the RS6/7 etc has a wonderful but wonderful engine - likewise the RSQ3 and RS3. But the RS6 is a monster once into 3-figure speeds on 'A' and 'B' roads, sorry! :busted cop: More so than an RS3 and that's for sure; but it can be boring as the 'impression' of 3-figure speed is the digital speedometer display, it's just sooo competent! And so the number of times an RS6 can be 'fun' are way limited - as is true for the RS3. The RS3 is 'quicker' than the SQ5 - I do run 'em back-to-back, but for me over the same routes we use the RS3 ain't no 'faster' than the SQ5, just different - and that's why we still have it!

For me the SQ5 offers more than any other Audi I've had the pleasure of abusing; the darn thing has to be 'hussled' and 'chucked' around some, and I like that! 650 Nm @ 1400-2800 rpm is just crazy! lol :thumbs up:

BUT! I think RS3 S should "DO IT!!!" You ONLY pass this way once and for sure 5-years ago we NEVER thought our RS3 and/or TT would be gathering as much dust as they now do :sadlike:

So RS3 S, DO IT! Just go DO IT! Enjoy yourself before Donald screws it up for everyone - oooops, sorry, slipped... :whip:

Wishing you 110% No pockets in shrouds, go get it...

Make sure and give "it" due diligence on Saturday, please :racer:

Remember, you can always come back to a wonderful low miles 2016 Audi SQ5 having enjoyed the RS6, for sure they're (SQ5, but not ours!) are about...

...........i did,2016 plate & wish i hadn't.

Well, if you liked it and fancy 3 more cylinders along with another half a ton of car for them to lug along then go for it. Hope your back doesn't go again!

;)

Did we discuss the car's colour? Gotta be Ascari on a Performance.

...........had a drive of around 15-20 miles & sadly salesperson riding shotgun. Car was pretty much as i expected, very fast when required but also great when in the 30-40 zones etc. "yes" it's 2 years older than my SQ5 but doesn't feel older, still got the pano roof, & carbon pack which has a really nice ''blue'' weave in it to match the stitching on the seats etc. No v.c. like the SQ5 but to be honest once i finished playing with the settings on it i haven't really adjusted it since. Fold out screen on the dash is nice rather than having the ''stuck on version '' that most Audi's have these days. Daytona grey paint like my SQ5 which has to be one of my favourite colours at the moment,as it's the performance model it's also got the really nice 21'' alloys & the sport exhaust !!!. Plenty of other things to list which i will in a couple of days when i've had a play. Thanks for all the positive comments by the way :thumbs up:.
