the older version of the mmi allowed you to download straight to the car by selecting 'on line' rather than USB (or whatever) when nominating the source of the update.
16GB ,map updates over 4G to the car at least once a year. That's quote a lot of data. Audi must have a good deal with a 4G network for that.
For those of us with the SD Card based MMI it’s £310 for a Map Update :-(
I'm afraid so, and no I wasn't aware when I purchased the car either.So we don't get any free map updates at all? Unless we pay we're stuck with the map that comes out of the factory?

I can't update my maps anymore as I've hit the limit....You might be right. Please could you share your navigation database version? We can then see if it is the same format as ours which is V03959806PK_P0220_EU_2019.05
If they have totally different formats, coding then perhaps they are not comparable but this would involve Audi maintaining two different versions.
