What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

Top job Col Curious what's the durability of Cure as a sealant coat ? Can't decide whether to apply wax or Cure on the next detail
Thanks mate :thumbs up:
Difficult for me say about durability TBH - I've got 3 coats on in 2 weeks on the X3 & intend, weather permitting, to keep applying another coat every 2 weeks
Polished Bliss say 6+ weeks durability
https://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/gyeon-q2m-cure

I've found over the years, sealants work better on white's. They give the finish a sharper, cleaner look
While waxes work better on darker colours. Gives them a warmer finish
But they are just my findings
As we know its a very subjective subject

Looking great @Bristle Hound :thumbs up:

Have you any discount codes for PB?
@SPIKE_S3 - Thanks Michael :thumbs up:
PB are not known normally to discount, unless it a big(ger) spend
Probs worth waiting for the Sales as plenty of suppliers offer discounting
There's a section on DW that gives you all the discount codes but you have to be logged in to access them

Gave the car a wash yesterday!!

wife wasn’t impressed when I got the polish box out though so didn’t get to apply any!
Will rinse it down Saturday at work and get a coat of something on it

also did some coding to add extra features

Wasn't 100% sure at the beginning, but the black centre caps and nut covers finish it off imo.

Hubs and calipers getting painted again when I get chance.

@X3man curious to see if you considered Gyeon Rim instead of Gtechniq C5.....knowing your fondness for Gyeon products. Just run out of my C5 and looking at replacement, and Rim is a good bit cheaper. I think I recall @Bristle Hound noting Carpro Dlux as being good as well, although it seems to be on par with Gyeon for price. Maybe better staying to what I know!? :help:

Finally got a chance to test the Gyeon WetCoat, pretty happy with the initial results. People claim it lasts up to 3 months so will be interesting to see how it holds up.

Also used the Raceglaze filter for the final rinse and there were still quite a few water spots on the car after it air dried. Not sure if that’s user error or just the nature of the system.

Haha, fair question, and to be fair did consider trying it, however I had a whole bottle of the C5, so for once used what I had Next time

Can't comment on longevity but I've just applied carbon collective platinum wheels to my summer alloys, initial thoughts after application and "tests" look pretty good. won't have any personal data until they've been on the car for a few months which will be a while after spring.

@Bristle Hound I'll be getting some of this as soon as I can bud....I've been reading some of your posts on it.
Done the snow foam thing twice now - yes it's fun, but novelty almost completely wore off the 2nd time due to the post-wash-clean-up!

I washed the car yesterday, had some AutoFinesse Citrus left in the bottle, so finished that off, then realised I had some AD snow foam already mixed that I'd left in the lance-bottle, so poured that into the AF Citrus bottle (spray bottle, not a pump sprayer) and it worked fine enough for my needs!

Unorthodox, I know! But it kinda worked, I think!:haha:

But like I've said previously, my paint has never been corrected so I'm simply taking basic steps to minimise further swirls until I can afford a DA polisher of my own (and if I feel brave enough to do it in 2020) or pay to get it done.
