What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Almost told my pensioner neighbour where to go today!

The car hadn't been washed by hand for about 6 weeks, so you could see that dusty layer with bits of clean white in it where fingers had been! Two weeks back I just gave it a quick Bilt Hamber spray/jet wash to get the worst off. So today I thought I'd do a hand wash as the weather was OK. I did the snow foam (to use what I had), alloys cleaned and then all rinsed off, hand wash & rinse, then noticed a few bits of black in the paint, so got the fallout remover out, sprayed on waited and rinsed off, then got the wetcoat out and sprayed that on, as I was rinsing it off I noticed the neighbour standing on her drive looking at me and smirking!!! I said Hi what's so funny? She replied still smirking "You're taking a long time to wash your car aren't you?" and still had the stupid smirk on her face :wtf::whip: not only did I want to tell her where to go, but I felt like punching her in the face, it proper wound me up :D

Does my head in when people don't understand what you are doing :p

What was you doing?

Well, that’s what most people do...me included :whistle2:
Most of the guys on here do a pre wash and then a wash, straight into a wash is asking for scratches etc. Do you use one bucket as well?

Plus you're never going to get fallout off with just a basic wash!

lol you're a lost case then :p:)

Funny though, the neighbour in question had a red car which faded, they asked me why??? I said 1) Because you use fairy liquid to clean it, 2) You don't put any polish on it and 3) Some of the older reds do fade. A few years later they went out and bought another red car....and yes this one has faded as well :D:blink:

I only use one 20 litre bucket always have and always will...2 bucket method is a load of GUFF ....If yer mitt gets guff on it rinse it with a hose...an carry on, instead of dragging around 2 big ****** buckets

Out doing a few last minute purchases for Christmas , so thought I may as well pop in to Halfords. Nearly bought Meguiars Ultimate Snowfoam again , £16 for 1 litre, then saw AG Pillar Blast . £17 for 2.5 litre . No brainer. Bought a telescopic glass cleaner as seen on Forensic . Hopefully that's good but was only five quid.

What ratio are folks using ? AG say 1 to 5 but I'm thinking I'll go 1 to 4 as it rounds up to a litre nicely .

15% discount code NEWYEAR15 for vyair.com.

Just bought 25L of resin for £73.36 delivered, link below:

https://www.vyair.com/25-litres-mixed-bed-mb-151-di-resin.html

Edit: They recommended the 151 for car cleaning and also suggested after every time you use the vessel, roll the vessel around to move the resin. This will make the water take another path though the resin and help using all the resin rather than a small part.

Good stuff that Polar Blast, but personally prefer BH Autofoam. The polar wash and seal great to use for winter. 1:4 makes sense scotty

200ml to 800ml water my car was pretty filthy a wee while back left it dwell for 20 mins and the car almost looked as if had been washed, Polar Blast is a great snow foam for winter months,Bilt hamber **** No....its off the car in a few minutes will never rate it...ok for a quicky in the summer where dwelling times are short due to the heat but that's it.....
It's like that guff BSD gives silly good beading that novices love and most of all it's cheap like BH snowfoam
Cheap and slightly above average products sell big time in the detailing world mate,l got Polar blast for something around £13 delivered from Amazon a wee while back, same with the high performance tyre gel it was £8 delivered

Got to be honest I was tempted by the Meguiars Ultimate, really good stuff but bloomin pricey . Sounds like the AG was a good buy. As I use it on the car , Windows and artificial grass in the bank garden , 2.5 litres is perfect .

I used BH and Polar Blast two weeks apart, whilst BH doesn’t dwell and is thinner, I DEFINITELY think it cleans more **** FACT (IMHO)

How do I know this? Rinse bucket for BH foam (and then Polar Wash) was clean after, whilst the AG Polar Wash one wasn’t...scientific enough for me

Hi ho ho ...... Did anyone tell ya it's crimbo Tell you've spent some dollar on that setup mate , very nice

That 904 is a beast and should be at 2.5k. Got to admit I do like pioneer I Pioneer . Do miss the LX52 for sound quality . My Yamaha is more up to date but different sound like the Pioneer. Supposed to be saving for a Pair of Focal Aria 948's , itching to get them .

Out of curiosity what sort of money would you be looking for ?

How do you like the kranzle?

Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

I be fair I’ve used it once since buying it early last week.
It does seem a very well built machine though, weighs an absolute ton

Glad I decided to buy it though and the range of Kranzle accessories for the 1152 range is quite comprehensive.

I was looking at another Karcher(the K7) or even the Nilfisk P/E series however they all had mixed reviews, the Nilfisk in particular had people remarking on how difficult Nilfisk are when any problems arose.

Same here @jassyo06

The Kranzle was £730 from a Kranzle dealer in Warrington.

You can buy the domestic rated 1050 TST at £500 however I found the attachment range to not be as comprehensive as the trade rated 1152 TST.

After using it once I can tell it’s build quality is leagues above a Karcher machine, not that I’m knocking them at all, my 3.75 Karcher has lasted a good 10 years, but the new Karcher machines don’t seem as well built and use a lot of plastic parts.

Good review you've given there for the snow foam, have to say I'm not convinced on the BH auto foam, literally only a week of driving and shifted a little but a lot of dirt was left on the car so rinse bucket was still pretty brown after washing. Might try mixing the two so there's some actual cling to the BH tackle

It is interesting and so subjective. I have a number of snowfoams, but rate BH and the Gyeon, both of which some in here think are cr*p. That is why we all do and use what we feel works for us

Just a question on the Bilt Hamber snow foam, how much product are you adding to your lance?

I ask because i have used both and i found Autoglym to be poor for cleaning power. Lovely and thick, but little cleaning power.

Bilt Hamber is thinner but defo seems to clean better for me.

Happy christmas to you all.

IIRC, you did mention a few months ago to not mix different products together especially SF and APC as each loses its cleaning ability as well as effectiveness. You keep changing your mind @jassyo06 ... Lol and keep confusing the lot here
