What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

So I went to wash my partners fiesta today, a challenge on it's own as the wind was so strong the water out of the hose just blew away. I found this, still shorts weather though you see:

Pardon my language, but the absolute twats

I've bought some of this today after someone mentioned it £6.50 for 5 litres

Rinsed off with this and a mixture of snow foam, too wet and damp here to stay clean. So thought a quick rinse and blast off will do for now.

Feel your pain @cuke2u......some real sum bags around
Self inflicted unfortunately, she first thought it had been done deliberately but then she remembered she heard a noise when visiting the doctors mid-week from the rear whilst parking up. A tree branch caused it...

Washed my baby today and because I've just got the DAS6, I thought to wax it again and buff it with the machine. I've used the Menzerna wax pad (as bought it when I got the DA polisher with the intent of using it with the Power lock ultimate protection but after that, I saw that they recommend using it with an orbital polisher) over the Bilt and Hamber double speed wax. It worked but I was expecting it to be more effective? I've ended up doing a lot with the hand after it. Am I doing it wrong? Do I need a different pad for the solid waxes? Can I use the Menzerna products with the DA machine rather than the orbital which they've recommended?
Cheers!
P.S. the car looks great now so my OCD is happy :) my shoulder isn't tho :(

Nope unfortunately it's almost down to the metal. For a car that has front, rear sensors and a rear camera, plus it'll park itself, you'd think I would have planned for this but the branch was in a blind spot, and it was dark, we have no street lightning in our village at all. She is a careful driver, her 2013 fiesta when we sold it in 2018, was unmarked, even the alloy wheels. This one though seems to be a magnet for dings and scratches...

Apply the wax with a Chemical Guys hex logic white pad and buff by hand with a plush MF towel

Collected the wheels after the refurb today , 200 smackers near enough . Very good job been done though . Just to order some C5 now and get them recoated, dress the tyres . May use my unopened bottle of PERL. Really wishing the weather would look up , itching to get on and hit the A3 with some DA action.

@jimbo76 ........ Check out these new centre caps . Much better now

Washed my A5 today in the absolute pouring rain.

Crazy or dedicated, not sure. Hadn't cleaned it in 2 weeks and after driving through a particularly bad puddle, it was destroyed.

Simple rinse, snow foam wash, 2 bucket wipe down, no drying.

I felt better about myself after lol

I washed the Mrs Fiesta...had'nt been washed for 2 months used Valet Pro Advanced snow foam,Autoglyms high performance shampoo,Autoglyms Seal n Shine, then another spray of Carpro Hydro-Lite 2..because it wont be getting another wash for at least a month....so should be easier to clean the next time around.
Then to my car which had'nt been washed for 2 weeks but in 2 weeks it does 500 miles so no driveway queenie,so initially l thought l would detox the thing with Korrosol and Tar remover....ran out of Korrosol had'nt l, so used a 50/50 mix of BH Wheel cleaner plus some KKD's Tar emover all applied at the same time to a dry car,on top of the BH/KKD I applied VPASF....Left all to dwell for 20 mins, rinsed off then washed with the lovely Autoglyms high performance shampoo, rinsed then used Carpro HL2....Then towel dried using Fireballs Ultimate coating wax as a drying aid...no time for any other exterior coating as it was after 3.00 pm getting damp and dark as i was chasing my tail previously when l toweled dryed the thing....inside l treated the only used seat in the car..."Drivers" to some VPLS applied with a Swissvax Leather brush courtesy of "Colourlock"...lol...done a wee bit of name dropping for a change as its DW Etiquette lol

Used Polar Wash for 1st time today, impressed. Did VP Prewash, then BH Autofoam. Had one bucket to rinse mitt between using on foamed cars. Water was clean at the end, a good sign. But used fresh bucket and mitt for JCW.

This is what I don't get, and mentioned other day. I washed my S5. Only a week (about 200 miles) between washes and BH auto foam lifted surface but a lot was left on the car, so after contact wash the rinse bucket was pretty brown.
Makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong, BH auto foam is very wet so doesn't cling at all.

Quick question chaps.

Is it ok to layer Gtechniq C5 ? Asking as it's arrived today , two weeks remain coated from about 5 months back but I've had two refurbished. Going to get this done today and thought I may as well use any left over C5 on the other two wheels .

Well that's one wheel cleaned , IPA wiped , ceramic coat and the dressed with PERL. Which leads to another question for the PERL users , one coat or two ? I've done one coat neat and it's now curing , just curious on your thoughts

Well both wheels ceramic coated and tyres dressed with PERL. One coat is plenty enough .

The non refurbished wheels were treated with Korosol, Meguiars APC for the tyres . Shampoo was Angel Wax . Not enough C5 left to put another layer on the non refurbished wheels, only got the 15ml bottle and these alloys are greedy .

Happy with the result though .
