Dashboard Lighting ???

So first rough test of milling a channel for the fibre . Haven't tidied the edges yet but looks like it will work quite well =)

Again just using iPhone flash for illumination

Ive been looking at the door handles and they look and feels exactly the same as the ones in the A6. Wonder if I could make A6 handles fit.

Found these on aliexpress they show a LED in the keyless entry module ! The LED may be there in our cars but it is blocked by the door handle trim or can be added to the module .

There’s no hole or cut out like on the a6 where the light comes through. Need to look into this further

I don’t have the coding for the rear modules. From what I have discussed on here the software in them need to be flashed . This is somthing that @DJAlix has said he can do, but I haven’t had a chance to meet with him yet .

Is your rear ambient lighting working now? Adjustable from the MMI menu?
 
The front is tied into the B@O light pipe and works fine . The rear I am waiting on The coding but it is also paired with the light pipe I added . The custom front stuff I made is tied into the footwell illumination. The front stuff is adjustable via the menu as it is just connected to existing lights . The tears will be too once the module has been coded . It works on the test mode at the moment but not controlled by the MMI so I know my circuits are good and it is just a software thing

Coding of what do you need? FL door modules with factory ambient light strips?

As far as I understand they need to be flashed with the same perimeters as the modules that have ambient lighting
 
Your rear door module 5Q0959595E is for ambient lighting already, my guess would be you need to code 5F to tell it ambient lighting is installed rather than coding the door modules itself?

@larbel @jrumball Do you guys happen to know the part number for the connector and/or pins required to retrofit the illuminated door inlays? I have a set on order but realized I didn't order a harness.
 
Hello , does anyone have a tutorial how to add ambient lighting to dash trims?
Or add illumination behind 3D dash trims?
I found these trims with led lights searching to google , looked oem but there are not exist acording audi oem parts.
Any DIY work about adding fiber led to trims would be acceptable.
Last pic is my interior but missing the dash illumination i am looking for.

These are OEM. I have them factory fitted in my A3.

The illuminated door trims are oem and i have them into my audi.
The dash trims exist?
What do you have factory ? Any picture mate?

Oh sorry i did not read it right. The door trims are Oem. The dashboard trims dont exist illuminated.

Any member had add illumination behind 3d trims ( like pic) .
I wonder if there is a tutorial about this.
Or any other mod....

The dashboard exists but they’re rare and supposedly for cab and LHD only, instead of LED lightbar at the bottom, the whole thing lights up. Good luck finding them tho and even if you do, you wouldn’t find door trims to match unless you have a cabriolet...

Is this not possible just translucent trim that has been lit from behind ? Maybe a solution for retrofit.... May give that a go =)

Tons of ppl in China added LEDs to the 3D trims and I can get them pretty cheap, but they're all LHD :(
