The problem for me was that the switches were obviously still the same style or even the exact same as the ones from my 1995 MX5! block squares just stuck somewhere, all out of sight, no thought gone into it. This was the CX3 though so maybe worse due to the model downgrade from the CX5. Yes, tech was good, lane notification or whatever its called, adaptive cruise etc etc.... All the mod cons. But it was like a 1990s car interior but with new tech. Really strange contrast. The idrive style MMI was pants. so rubbish. plastic feel, controls where just all over the place. I think that's what we pay for at the end of the day. Ergonomics. Sat in the A1 again yesterday, I get what everyone is talking about though. but the general feel and quality is so high compared to toher brands. The lower down plastics are harsh, but the upper level ones are better. This was an S-line model though.
Interesting, I wonder if similar dials in the CX3 as in mine, really don’t think mine are bad at all but they are noticeably cheaper in places but so is the car.
May be I’m in the honeymoon period with mine, things like car play manage to keep it current.
