What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

car looks great.
I know what you mean having to resort to old fashion hose. My K4 after 5 months just packed in and away back to karcher for repair. Motor keeps throttling after about 5 -10 minutes of use.
My last k2 lasted almost 9 years. They don’t make them like they used to
Other than reliability I would say k4 is more than enough and can be had for around £120 from the outlets.

Many thanks @AlS3BE

I pulled the trigger on a new K4 Premium for £170. Could have gone cheaper with outlet re-furbed one, but a few on here have had some issues with those. Comes with a 6 year warranty, so that will do me.

From 1st June 2017 Karcher are offering an extra 1 years warranty coverage absolutely free, meaning this Karcher machine will be covered for 6 years in total!

will budget for a longer hose. That 6m is a waste of space. I have the 12m which is just adequate to get round the car.

thanks, and good shout. Already have a 10m flexible rubber hose I will take off the K5, along with the short trigger gun....another one of the reasons I decided to stick with Karcher. (Also have a drain/gutter cleaning kit that has proven invaluable)

Recently bought a DA polisher and as I've never used one before I tried it out on my old heap of an Astra that hasn't been used for months. Should be easier to sell it now.

Not perfect but much better than before, didn't tackle the front bumper as it needs some repairs.

Back to work today so will tackle my A4 in a few weeks time

Some much needed TLC after a few weeks of dirty country lanes. And first wash after being dechromed.

Gave mine a full coat of dodo juice purple crush pro
I did the bonnet and boot a few weeks ago to test it out and must say that I am impressed!
Easy on and off , use a dodo juice finger applicator to apply
Beading seems good

My partner came back to her car after it was parked in the town centre multi-story to find it covered in this:

The gritters haven’t hit Essex yet but I’m dreading it ! Never used winter wheels/tyres but seriously considering this year (the S3 is the newest car I’ve owned!!).

Noticed some tiny dark blobs (tar?) on the bonnet when polishing Saturday - couldn’t pick em off so will have to investigate a spot remover - any recommendations or do I just do the whole car in that Bilt Hamber stuff ? (With presumably a re-polish afterwards).

Scuse my ignorance!!

Any tar remover will do but it will remove any product you've previously applied

Not usually a fan of non-OEM wheels but your car looks stunning with that wheel/colour combo.

My Karcher K5 Premium has decided it has had enough after 7.5 years. Hmm what to get next.

Options I think (as don’t want to go smaller):

a) A new K5 with controllable lance
b) K7
c) Kranzle
b) suggestions?

Anyway, had to revert to normal hose...what a pain! So no snowfoam this time, used cleanliness prewash in manual sprayer

CarPro Reset, topped off with Cure

Oh, and cleaned and sealed leather yesterday:

I don’t like SUVs. But I like yours :thumbs up:

Still enjoying it buster?

Get a K4, they come with a 2 year warranty and are as cheap as cheap relatively speaking (and will still take the extension hose and short trigger gun accessories you already have mate). Has all the bang that weekend warriors like us need pal. And with the money you’ve saved yourself vs a Kranzle, you could get that short throw Flex DA I know you’ve been coveting :superman:

Just gave my New RS grill 2 coats of Gtechniq C2v3 before it gets fitted. As I reckon it’s going to be a bit of a nightmare to keep clean once fitted .

Is that for FL or PFL? I need the bottom Quattro bit for my PFL but thought it all came in one big bit?

It’s for a facelift A6 C7.5 Avant. Mines not Quattro so didn’t want the grill that said Quattro on it.

Well the weather recently hasn't allowed for much exterior cleaning so thought I'd tackle the inside today. Excuse the crap photo it's very dingy outside today.

Plastics cleaned with Koch Chemie Green Star and dressed with TJ's car care plastic/trim/tyre dressing.
Leather cleaned with Autoglym leather cleaner and dressed with Zaino Z10 leather in a bottle.

Had to wet sand my bonnet because I had loads of weird lines everywhere. Quite hard to spot but when you know they're there, it annoys you. Put it off for ages but had nothing to do so sorted it. Ceramic coating and swissvax best of show wax afterwards.

When I did the detailing course they used my car for the training. Think the marks were from people digging in a bit too much with the sanding block! Either that or there's been a cat fight on my bonnet.
Took ages to get the marks out that I'd created sanding the lines out.

That’s pretty hardcore pal - kudos :cold: Gritters haven’t started down here yet - reckon they’re funded by all the big auto manufacturers to get us to buy new cars more frequently
