Handing car back - what a faff!

ST 2. No performance pack. It's a great option but felt I didn't need it.

What colour is it love Ford's Magnetic Grey
Yeah that is a nice colour, a lad that works with my wife has it on his ST-Line fiesta, everytime I see it I think it looks nice.

Never have needed the extra space only seat that's been sat in is the drivers seat...car is as new inside no creases on the leather no shoe scuffs on door bins lol
I looked at the TT with the wife before I went for the A5 coupe, we said nobody could get in the back, so I went for the A5 coupe with 4 seats! However, nobody can sit behind me as I have the seat right back as I'm over 6ft, so weekends = take friends cars and leave mine at home, hence why the low miles on mine...if I had know I'd have gone for the TT myself.

And also to get the fuel flap mechanism replaced...and get the matrix headlights...fixed as they've stopped working my cars battery went flat on Sunday had to get a jump start and ever since then the matrix function doesn't work...also they wanted £390 for its second oil change/inspection wtf
Think they quoted me £421 for my 2nd, having it done at an indy for £198 :)

It is for 3 services. Service required annually.
If you are on a 36 month pcp you won't need the 3rd one!

New ST by the sea.
Looks nice mate :)

Looks nice. Is that an ST1 then? Wheels look like the standard smaller fit of the ST1?

Did you not go for the Performance pack?
They don't do the ST1 anymore mate.

On service deal for ST, I probably wont need 3rd service unless I decide to keep it or sell it.

Also 3 services are cheaper than 2 on a deal they are offering!

Fell immediately in lust with it...actually thought it was a TTRS at first sight it's got full carbon interior inlays every box ticked...actually my son Jordan contacted his old boss tonight about it he's the General Manager of the branch the car is at....so dont mind adding a few thousand to it was going to buy a £5k tv...so ergo lol

Went in last night car was sold on Wednesday it was a Vorsprug edition but with the unusual matte aluminium pack instead of the gloss black Edition trim.. ah well next summer l will get something else not buying new again

I think a lot of people will be doing the same mate, I saw this the other day https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201910022874011? good saving from new. Extended warranty to cover everything came in at under £400 once the 3 year standard warranty is up. I've got less than 12 months to decide which way to go!!! The only car that I look at and think looks cool is the RF, but my mates are already taking the P! They say I'll never fit in it...even though I've taken one for a drive and did lol.

As the TT ends next year I wonder what that will do for long term ownership/depreciation???

Too late, or is it?
I purchased the plan today but there may be a cool off cancel option.
I'll check this out - thanks.

@BarryG79 . Dealer says my employer is not on the list so will stick with my £400 pack for 3 annual services.

@KenL ask dealer about Ford Advantage, if your employer is on a list of partner companies they offer a free service plan. Wife works for local authority and salesman told us about it years ago.

This list might not be definitive, but worth asking.

Nice one mate, told my sister about this and she phoned them up today....her next service will be free as she works for the NHS. The woman she spoke to on the phone said "Not a lot of people know about this". :icon thumright::icon thumright::icon thumright:

Funnily enough, I didn't get offered anything other than gap and he said you wont want this as you'll know you can get it a lot cheaper elsewhere!

Rather than starting a new thread...but yes what a faff.

Audi aren't exactly jumping over themselves to help me get into another Audi! I spoke to an Audi dealership 30 mile away as my local one is utter pants, my pcp is due to end in September, Audi's quote for my car today is what my GFV price is then! So it will be a case of handing them the keys back. So I thought it would be easier just to get another Audi and switch keys on the day! Job done :)

But no I can't do that  because they value it less than what I owe, I have to have the car collected from my home by BCA and then get to the dealership 30 mile away to collect my new Audi!!!:wtf: How do I do that with no car? So not only did they give me the lowest px price I've been offered, I can't even switch cars without a lot of messing about or getting a lift. So why stay loyal to Audi? I may as well have the car collected from home by BCA and buy another brand with a lower APR% and that is close to my home..

Since the above I found a place that will buy my car for £500 less than I currently owe on it, obviously they are going to add more than £500 when they sell it on, so it's making me think whether or not I should just buy this outright and keep it another 18 months!?!?

Oh Audi said if I sell them my car and buy another Audi they'd give me £19k for mine and they'd sell it for £22.5k So a £3,500 markup
If I sell it to the other car buyer and buy nothing from them, they will give me £21k.

Audi greed will lose them customers!

Or you could look upon this car changing scenario of yours from another angle...... why be so impatient? do you dislike the A5 that much....obviously not or you would buy yourself out of it and get another car...You either wait or pay more now ..... and not because Audi dealerships are not playing ball with ya....and at this time of year....Dealerships can pick and choose who they sell cars due to the NEW REG approaching try and again early May

keep the car mate. It's what i did. There isn't much tempting me anyway certainly not upgrading to the new A3 until I have seen one in the flesh.
The only issue you will have is depreciation of your A5 over the 18 months or so you say you are willing to keep it. If bought outright then you can do with it whatever you want and you are not held in on any contractual time pressures so you can pick and choose any deals that might come up?

I don't dislike the A5 and I would run it the entire 36 month happily, just looking and some cars I've seen if ordering new come in with a 6 month wait! (Polo GTi+), so I want to get the timing right so I'm not without a car, don't do a lot of miles but I work off a bus route and start early so need one :) But yeah forgot about the new reg in March! May sounds good :icon thumright:

Keeping it is in my head, so is the depreciation as you say especially with the facelift out to order now! also the can then get rid when I want is a bonus! But then man maths kicks in!!! To get my £21k back I'd have to put away £350 per month for 5 years, on top of that a warranty/breakdown cover each year, so say £50 per month for that =£400 per month for a 3-8 year old car, can get a new one for less! Yes it's 100% mine after 5 years and no outgoings but I can't see me keeping it for that long!!!

Cars are a pain lol.

Your doing now what i will be be doing in around six months time,i want to keep my s3 as i do love it,and has done silly low mileage, currently on 6950 after 3 years,so my car really doesnt get used that much, but like you do i want to be paying 400 a month for car for the next 5 years if i buy outright at the end of the pcp term???? My car is over 4 years and if i remember rightly my final payment at the end if i want to keep it is just over 18k!?!?
Like i say love the car but the longer i think about it the more i think I will just buy a cheaper smaller car and lower my payments a bit,but problems are,try and find a new car that is cheaper than what im paying now is a problem, i would ideally want to pay at most 300 a month and no more than say 1k down, but no cars out there for that amount that rock my boat so to say, prices of cars have rocketed over last few years, my ideal car has to be smallish, fast, and have a auto box that is really good, and ideally 4wd,so only 1 that is all them is the upcoming yaris gr, but that will deffo be more than i ideally want to pay so im deffo gonna have to change my expectations i think lol

When l thought about changing my car for a fully loaded TTS awhile back it was a no brainer for me it had 1500 miles on the clock,in as new condition but most of all it had that whaooooo factor plus it looked rare and special, it was only £35,600 a awesome price this was the car, check the rrp!!!! But sadly it was sold within 2 days after l saw it,not seen one quite like it since, used car sales are on high now and l would go slightly used if l find a car like that TTS again......

Exactly the same mate, I wanted something small and sporty for £300 per month with £1,000 down...nothing doing I'm afraid, unless you want a BIG step down in quality. The Yaris GR is expected to be around £30k! Polo GTi+ with upgraded alloys and £1k down came in at £309.66 x 36 month + £11,452.50 Final payment.

Yeah there are some great savings to be had and that TTS was one of them, I remember your post about it. I'd go for a pre reg or a 6 month old used if the spec was right and obviously the saving was decent....just getting something to pop up at the right time.

I do however keep going back to this deal, spoke to my local BMW guy and he is pretty sure after 36 months I'd be in a position to change on this one! I told him my car goes back in September and he said he could work it so it would be ready for when mine goes back, going down tomorrow just to look at one and see what I think. They do a 118 M-Sport for £300 down and £300 per month, but then you think for an extra £25 pw lol :D

I had a similar issue when I was changing my S3 after my PCP was up, my local Audi dealer wouldn't trade it in against a new black edition A5. So I ended up handing it back to Audi via BCA, it went to auction and the same local Audi dealer bought it.

This resulted in me buying something other than Audi, I didn't see the logic in how they dealt with things.

That's just like my story. When the car wasn't worth the GFV 9 months and about 8k miles less than the end of the PCP contract I immediately looked beyond Audi.

I now have a Fiesta ST for about the same or less per month than a 95 bhp A1!

Well I'm now in no rush to buy another Audi, if they were prepared to switch on the day then I would....their loss! I'd even sent him a link to the car/spec I was interested in.

Did your collection by BCA go well? I hope I can give them a date and they will collect it on that date! Service is due end Oct mot 21st Oct, car can go back between 19th Sept - 19 Oct.

They will not collect the car until after you have made the last payment unless you VT it.

The call centre people are less than helpful to say the least!

I VT’d mine around the 17th Sept last year and the earliest collection date I got from BCA was the 9th October. So had both the new car and old car for nearly 3 weeks and had to have both insured for that time as well. The actual collection of the car on the day went smoothly and took about 40mins.

Just looked at my paperwork, says I have to make 35 payments, the 35th payment is due out mid September and the car contract ends mid November. I'll call them the day the last payment comes out ;)

OK thanks, if buying new I'll just get them to get the car in for the time my last payment goes out, just in case they say we can collect it tomorrow lol.

Be easier to torch it and claim on the GAP (joke), I'd be up by about £18k :)

I doubt the dealership would be bothered! A mate of mine said to send the MD of Audi UK an email telling him and see what his reply is!
