Next model A3

A1 & A3 discounts will always be less than the bigger cars, as they are easier to sell, and are more likely to be bought privately.

A4 upwards are more likely to be company cars. Plus I suspect there is more profit (from the sticker price) building an A6 and there is building an A3. So more room for discounts.
Exactly my point bigger cars larger discount..also model discounts vary ....and to be honest there's far too many variables when it comes down to getting a car discount

That’s why the likes of carwow, drive the deal etc are getting really popular now.
Last time I just picked the cheapest price I got from all of them and got my local to match it. If it’s only a few hundred quid in it it’s not worth my while going to london to get it equally I don’t make £1000 a day so a day trip down south is worth my while if it’s that much cheaper.

That's what I've done before. Worked for the S3. Dealer matched within £200. But they did give me an S3 for the day with a full tank of fuel to spank about in.
But when buying a Golf GTI (before the S3), no dealer up here (Lookers Group) were willing to price match. Ended up going down to London to collect. Ended up saving £2000 off what the best deal was here.

Git was a bit more than what l would have been given by a Scottish Audi dealer......
Always said the Jocks were tight, they don't give you anything if they can help it and not just with cars :p;)

@jassyo06

The all new one, or the old one?

Sorry, didn't take a photo.
It had the pack that includes 19" alloys, and the front grill was also black.
Beautifully laid out interior and the seats were very comfy.

I went to my local BMW dealer today and saw the new M135i. When seeing it in pictures and videos on the internet I was really disappointed with it, thought the front looked weird and it looked too fat like a 4x4.

After seeing it today in the flesh though I’ve completely changed my mind, I kinda fell in love with it. Absolutely love the look of it (especially the back), the interior is one of the best I’ve seen too. Really surprised with how much I like it.

I just really wish they kept the RWD and 6 cylinder engine. Wouldn’t mind having a test drive in one to see how the drive is and hear what it sounds like.

"I just really wish they kept the RWD”

I was wondering how many more people could be tempted by it now that it’s XWD, I guess it being RWD was attractive for a lot of people too though

As power rises, RWD become more difficult to manage. Not everyone is a driving god like me !

Giving the it X-Drive certainly opens up a new market for people put off by RWD.

I never realised this until I bought my last car, he showed me how the discount was calculated, returning customer, S model, Quattro, A3 range etc, he was short of his S model target sales so was able to bump that element up a little, he said it also played in to my hands that I cancelled my S3 Black Edition SB order because of the pig ugly new alloys, it would have classed as lost business or something along those lines? I wouldn't like to work in the car sales trade at the moment :eek:/

Regarding depreciation, my S3 Saloon is taking a hammering, normal websites are indicating over £10k depreciation in 10 months vs my purchase price, I know a big portion of that is VAT (depending how you look at it) but my 66 plate SB faired much better. The motor industry seems to be going through a bit of blip imo.

BMW seem to be head and shoulders above the rest in terms of new model releases, some cracking cars being released by them from what I've seen.

The 310 bhp models seem to be holding values really well, I’d got an offer the other week on my S5 to match what I’d paid for it and I did consider switching back into a S3 but I’d be looking at shelling out a decent amount for a used 17/67 reg but did notice there’s not much price different between those and a GPF 300 bhp 19 plate cars.

However it has never been this case with Audi's, none of the models have ever had such large discounts of 19% and over, especially when it is a new model. However what you are stating is a red herring anyway and it is true that these previously unheard of discounts are now filtering through to the pre-owned market, which I answered correctly.
Unfortunately facts are facts...

Facts are indeed that and the fact is mainstream models from Audi....ie sport,s-line etc etc are always subject to larger discounts than the premium models

Silly question: does the black styling pack always has the interior lighting pack included?
Thanks,

On the subject of alternative cars ... I must confess to liking the Merc 35 AMG but the 45 looks even sharper imo ...

Lol I know you don’t like it mate

I think it looks pretty mean

Seen all of the A class variants and don't like any of them mate l prefer a more angular design with a design crease here and their, plus have you really studied the huge oversized rear bumper on the A class hatchback looks as if it's going to burst open and there is them cockpit tablets

£45k to start with though Snake before any options!

I think its closer to £48k on the road ... but from the brief read I had I think it comes with a lot of kit as standard ... a LOT more than the 35 such as 19" alloys, the premium screens etc

I've only seen a video on line and it does sound terrible on tick over - but it sounds mighty impressive when you put the power down.

Visually I think it looks ace - outside and in ... albeit that could all change when I saw one first hand.

If the new Audi S3/RS3 is not to my liking, I think the Merc would be front runner as I keep being drawn to it.

Apart from the £15,000 difference over the A35 AMG, I really don't like the Yellow piping on the seats and around the dash. Looks a bit S**t.

But the Bucket seats look lovely. Not sure if they are standard or an option. But you can't get them on the A35, which is a shame.

Yeah I think the racing seats are standard on the UK A45s.
Yeah agreed the A35 is pretty good value - same as any S model in the Audi range over the RS though isn't it.
The S & 35 are effectively the 'sweet spot' in terms of price v what you get.

The all new one.

Saw one this morning.. my Mrs has the previous generation m sport one, the new one looks worlds apart and so much better in my opinion.

Have you priced one up though.... expensive!!

Same/or as close to the options as my BE Saloon, albeit with a 1500L engine and I'm near 35K.

My A3 saloon had a list price of £32250, not saying that's what it cost but still, makes the Audi look dirt cheap on face value.

I know we aren't comparing apples for apples but an A3 and a 1 series is a similar sized car, and should be similar price points.

I've noticed the same, I'm already going to be over my mileage allowance but knew that anyway, but had offers on the car greater than what I owe, not sure if it is to do with the upcoming S5 diesel or not. Seen some decently specked 17 plate RS3 saloons which have tickled the fancy, but have to be sensible for now...

I would say the 3 series 340i x-drive a more relevant comparison to A35, Golf r and S3, and from what I have heard (read) the 340i is pretty good

Yeah the 3 series does look quite nice tbf from a few i've seen on the road.

Yeah I’ve got to be sensible, planning to buy and mov out early next year and although I love the S5 I’m thinking tax, insurance and fuel is going to be a lot to splash out on the car given the miles I do, plus all 4 tyres are at 4mm so they’ll need changing soon :tearsofjoy: So now I’ve scratched that V6 itch I’m tempted to go back to something a little more sensible, especially as I can change cars at no financial loss to myself which doesn’t happen very often...
