Hello all,
I am new to Audi after always driving VW's. I need a car as my LT35 is too big and thirsty to be driving everyday. I have found the A4 Avant Sline, . I am a novice with regards Audi's and their pricing etc so could someone offer me any advice. The car is firm at £1500 but it will the clutch pedal sits high and the seller suggests in 5k will need replacing. Its covered 102k miles and as good history. I know MOT's are probaly not a great pointer but its passed every year with not many advisories. I am to look at the car today but would like to know if I should go or if its a waste of time.

I can't seem to put a link to car on here

Thank you

Should be a grand being a b6
£1500 would get a b7 nowadays

With a whole host of dodgy 2.0 engine codes that loose oil pressure diesel or petrol and a 1.9 derv that can suffer sudden catastrophic upper conrod bearing spot welding .

All depends, what engine. What spec. Is it a quattro?

It’s a 1.8t S line

I’ve not yet seen it but the dude says the clutch pedal is high, not slipping though and sees it needing a new clutch soonish. Another thing as I’m not sure if it’s a DMF. From experience with a dub I had it was rather costly

Ive had many 1.9tdi engines over 300k with no know upper conrod problems.....

Make sure fsh and done every 10k and should be fine for the money, if clutch goes stick a single stage clutch conversion in there and then start tuning it
Saying that I had a 1.9tdi with a 185k on it and although the clutch would slip every now and then it was still on the original when I traded it in...

Two unaffected codes , the first almost bullet proof .
YEP.

Almost. Just a chocolate cam lobe to worry about lol

More narrow so experience high loading .

They're probably OK with the right oil and max year intervals , but proof of exact oil used when just a service stamp means it could even happen to me despite my sometimes 6 month as little as 1,300 miles servicing .
