Next model A3

My pal has one, very impressive machine.

I wouldn't **** on one if it were on fire mate...ugly things with mediocre American build quality .....and l am sure once real car manufacturers are up to speed with EVs nobody will buy a Tesla anymore

Completely with you on this one mate, never have and never will like them. Those that rave about them, brilliant for them. I will go EV when I HAVE to and their are proper ones available

I disagree. The build quality is good, if very different.

Handling and performance are probably better than any Audi ;-)

Saw an advert on TV last night for a Vauxhall Grandland X hybrid, it quoted 300bhp! (I can get the petrol ones on my works company car scheme)

Ohh I thought I wonder how much they are and if they will come on the scheme!!!

:D:D:D
Lmao

Or the alternative for similar money: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201905198109541?

Jeez, that is a lot for a Vauxhall. MUCH prefer your alternative option
So do I :) I work for them and my A5 was cheaper to own than an equivalent Insignia with my works discount!!!

It’s alright you could buy a year old one for at least half the price at the rate Vauxhall’s depreciate :tearsofjoy:

Think I'd rather walk than own a VauxPoo.

But that price is bonkers. The depreciation will be epic. Probably only pushed out the doors through fleet lease deals.

I know you should compare new V second hand, but I think everyone would choose the Macan over that thing.

The only thing l dispise not hate... too harsh a word, is idiots driving 40 plus mph down a 20 Mph only STREET hence all cars are parked up on the kerb and the new X3 M40d is a really nice car and not powered by a battery lol

Before I changed the S3 to the A5, I nipped into Vauxhalls to see about the Insignia, with my works discount it came in at £28k for the elite nav 4x4 Auto 2.0 petrol!!! I asked how much will it be worth in 3 years time, he looked on his pc and said "Trade in will be around £9,000" I left and went back to Audi :D The A5 coupe with a few options came in around £29k.

Unfortunately if Audi keep offering their huge discounts, 24% on the A6, that will filter down to the pre-owned market and the bottom will drop out of that also...
A6

The over the top discount just shows that the cars are over priced (aren't they all).

Audi make their cash from the high interest rates they get away with charging. Clever marketing I suppose.

Would say make more of their cash on servicing and all that stuff, so push the new cars out the door with massive discounts and take in the £250+ per minor service for those that happily pay it

Well if drivers are still stupid enough to use a mobile phone whilst driving then the answer is very clear. Touchscreens should be disabled once the engine is running and I have been stating that for quite some time now. But the powers that be are looking at this technology. Coupled with those who are too lazy to read a manual the technology within modern cars is going to be extremely challenging, distracting and life threatening event..

However, to clarify, I believe h5jdr is a much a passenger these days...
That's correct. I am no longer able to drive but i do use the touch screen whilst my wife is doing the driving.

I meant Audi UK, not dealers. I see where you are coming from with the massive discounts.

The car segment the new A5/6 are in is very competitive hence the larger discounts,it was the same with the previous A5/A6 and the time span from launch to personal lease was very short....so pcp had to keep up....l noticed the exact same with the new A Class...hence they more popular than WHITE LINES ON THE TARMAC

No it isn't, the face lift A4 also has a discount of 20% which is rare to have any in a newly released model. This will pass on to the used market, just like fords. It's because the new car market is dead in the water currently...

I bought my A3 in Feb and got almost 20% discount. In reality I think I paid what the car is worth, def overpriced at ROTR price. Can see it in the used prices for sure but plan to keep car a long time so doesn’t really affect me.

The A4 is in the same boat as the A5/A6 ie most on the roads are Fleet cars

Can see it in the used prices but even more so in trade in offers.

Fair enough, but agree, prices have become ridiculous

We can argue this one until we're blue in the face but the facts are Audi's never had huge discounts until this year. The A4, when I first purchased, had a discount of 14%, that was over one year from first release. Even your precious A3 saloon has a discount of 14%, which is double what I purchased mine for in 2013.Private owners did not have access to 'fleet discount' before but now we have, same as Ford etc. this will impact upon used values.
As other are seeing the pre-owned values dropping I'd give up if I was was you ;-)

From my view, and having owned one, the A6 as had MEGA discounts available (And probably A5's), but this was last Gen.
The surprising thing is how quickly the new ones are getting big discounts.

Got an email the other day offering £2k discount + £8k contribution on a new A6

a6 always had big discounts. I’ve had 3 of them and if I remember right they all had 20%+ discount. Even when I got one of the first c7 facelifts.

I know someone who has just got an A4 s-line diesel on lease, with maintenance, tax and tyres £360 per month.

But, what was the advance payment and how many miles per year?

Think he said 3 months upfront and he does 15k per year, got a better deal as he got another Audi off them!

Previously new models had little discount from new and buyers did not have access to fleet discounts. This has all changed now and Audi's original philosophy of preserving there 'premier' reputation by having high residuals has been basically chucked out the window.
I remember clearly being told by a salesperson in 2013 that Audi do not do discount. Now, on the majority of models it is ford discount...

Go try and buy the new A3 when it arrives tell me what discount you've been offered or go go see what discount you get off a middle of range A1....l cant remember exactly what discount l got on my car....but it was a bit more than what l would have been given by a Scottish Audi dealer......big discount are generally found south of the border hence l bought my car from a London dealer........larger the car bigger the discount ergo.....

A1 & A3 discounts will always be less than the bigger cars, as they are easier to sell, and are more likely to be bought privately.

A4 upwards are more likely to be company cars. Plus I suspect there is more profit (from the sticker price) building an A6 and there is building an A3. So more room for discounts.
