Next model A3

No different to an RS, being £70k +.
Even this new RSQ3 will be starting around the £50k mark, and we all know that means nearer £60k or half decent spec

No not at all just think that’s crazy money when in real world it’s not going to give that much more than what yours does and they don’t look materially different.

I think the RSQ3 sportback looks the nuts especially in Kyalami Green l wouldn't spend all that dosh on a Rs car to have the sleeper look....in yer face and up yer ****...that's my opinion, the RSQ3 is a good looking SUV
Mini Lambo URUS ...especially in Kyalami green
All RS and BMW SUVs look the nuts in bold colours

Agree, prices have gone silly. Mine is sub 5 sec 0-62 already (not that that is the be all and end all) hit it is way fast enough!

Well, I will enter the ring on the worth of SUVs ......on the plus side, good for people with mobility issues and a better view of the road, as long as you are not behind another SUV.......on the minus side, all look the same, and apart from Porsche are butt ugly, generally speaking they use a lot of fuel and are not sporty to drive. As far as cargo space, an estate car offers more, with no need to move seats around.
Me, I prefer saloons, sports cars etc. and yes that is my opinion. But for many the wife will decide the choice of family car and that will be an SUV or a crossover for the higher view of the road and ease of getting into.

Think they look great in that Denim Blue. The only thing I don't like is having to tick options to make it look better. They look very bland without the Aero pack. At least the Saloon doesn't get that horrible spoiler.

Plus you need to tick a lot of other expensive packs to bring the spec up to where you would want it. Easily a £45k+ car

A class has been and always will be an ugly car, just screams ‘I OWN A MERCEDES’ because let’s be honest you’d only buy one to say you have a merc... horrible interior and even worse exterior, same with the gla, only good looking a class merc is the CLA/CLA45
Just my opinion but I know it’s shared with many car enthusiasts around me

I sat in one before I got my A3, the screens were very nice (as long as you get the bigger ones), comfortable and spacious enough, the row of buttons in the centre console are a really cheap plastic though, like a cheap kids toy.

Oh Dear..Mercedes Forum next for you mate ye may meet up with @veeight lol my S3 sounds better than that...jelly mold thing
When I first stated in this forum I was buying a a3 saloon I got so much stick from fellow AS members about how much it looked like a Triumph Toledo and just three boxes, many were quite scathing in their comments. This was because no-one had seen it in the flesh then, so....

Similar was said about the screen in the A3 and it just being a ipad gimmick, but really it is down to personal taste. But seriously you need to look at what Audi are doing to their cars, take the facelift A4 for example. More like a mondeo quality than an Audi...

Well I came from a 10 yr old astra when I got my Audi so it was quite a big step up for me! V happy with the interior quality of mine, the VC is great.

Lol ... nothing like a Merc to stir things up ha ha :)

I genuinely like the look of it though - especially in silver with black bits.

I’m not rushing out to buy one just yet though :)

A35 is not bad looking imo. I like the tech but there’s a lack of design skill with integrating the screens into the dash. Just looks like 2 iPads stuck on the dash. Just feels more like an afterthought.

I’ve not sat in one so it may look better first hand but the screens & graphics do look impressive.

The screens look good, sharp and colourful. tech looks great.
There’s just no design to it just a flat rectangular screen stuck behind the steering wheel with second leading across the dash.
With the Audi VC there’s a bit of design and it sits inside a a moulding which resembles a traditional dash. The centre touch screens is also moulded into dash not just like its stuck there.
the e class is slightly better with the dash coming over the top of the screen. They could have done so much more with the design.

@jassyo06 i thought you were a man of class ;-) the urus is a horrible looking thing, just angles on angles. I do agree on the colour though, If you are going for a loud car go loud on the paint as well.

As far as SUV's l think the Q3 sportback is a big improvement over the Q3...
But saying that l was up close to a Q3 a few months ago..all external parts including the paint where black including 20" rims it was a very nice looking car indeed, so like all cars= spec and options play a huge part in how it appears as does seeing one with your own eyes and not on a screen the only duff looking car Audi make is the Q2 its side profile is nice but the front and rear dissapoint
The URUS is a Mean and Vulgar looking car but it's got a Lamborghini badge on it ergo..l much prefer the looks of the Q8 nice looking SUV

Agree the sport back does look better, I struggle with the Urus though.

A1 is pretty duff looking now, just looks cheap.

For me the TT is still the best looking car Audi make, the chap on here with the turbo blue and black alloys looks spot on. It’s probably that I’m just more of a coupe style/shape fan.

I have always struggled to like the rear of the TT and its spartan interior but the TT roadster is the best looking model in my opinion

The rear is pretty bulbous and round compared to the angular front but I do like it.

Roadster is a good looking car.

Any more thoughts on what’s next for you?

Agree good looking car, I’d always go RS6 over 7, not sure what they’re doing with the rear diffuser on the new models though.

For me who knows mate l am content with my car just now but by the time l do want to change all the hype of the new A3,2series,4 series,Golf R will have calmed down...so deals on these should be available but still going for whacko coloured paint though

That's the thing. Perceptions can change when you see something in the flesh. When the A-Class came out I hated the inside. And I really mean hate. Ipads? NEVER !!!!!

But then I was passing the Merc dealer one day and called in. They had 2 A35 AMG's in. One Yellow (not for me) and the other one in Denim Blue. The blue looked really nice. Sat inside and the seats felt good. The steering wheel was nice to hold, but did have cheap plastic bits on which weren't so nice. The main thing I like over the Audi was that the paddles were nice to touch and easy to reach. Much better that Audi who install tiny paddles that are hard to reach and therefore you don't want to use them.

But the screens were the biggest shock for me. I have to say the tech and graphics were pretty damn impressive. I was sat there getting a demo off the sales guy, and I was thinking I could live with this.

I still think the screens will look naff when the car is turned off if it shows up finger print marks. And I'd need to look again at what functions can be selected with a switch rather than having to dive into menu's on the screens. I think having too much within the screen options is dangerous, as you have to take your eyes off the road. While a switch can be felt while still looking where you're going.

Good summary that :icon thumright:

Yeah I guess it’s like any car - none of them are 100% perfect.

I looks at the previous A Class in two occasions and never got beyond sitting in one in the showroom - didn’t like the scratchy plastics & it felt enclosed & claustrophobic. Went to Audi & bought as S5 & then my current car on the last occasion.

Could be the same again next time though the current A class does appear to have moved the game on.

Mercedes have implemented the users interface with the screens far better than anything Audi have done with theirs. There are two little touch buttons on the steering wheel each controlling one of the screens...

How has the A class moved the game on mate, defo not in design, build quality or even engine wise, l actually thought the new A class looked dated at launch ....a certain member on here chucked his new A35 back to Mercedes due to build quality problems and l bet he aint alone in doing so,go test drive one for a day or 2 and come back and give us a hands on opinion
What's good about the new A35 is its availability on reasonably affordable personal lease deals straight from launch which doesn't help the pcp guy at all the current S3 is more expensive to pcp than the new A35 ergo

Dealers don't really like giving test drives anymore. Not round here anyway.

No Ford dealer in the North East had a Fiesta ST. One got one in and I arranged a test drive for the Saturday. Phoned up just before I set off. Just to check everything was fine. Glad I did

Salesman "The guy who has the ST doesn't work Saturdays mate".
Me. "So why did you arrange for me to test drive it today then?"
Salesman "We have an ST line in if you want to take that out"
Me. "Don't think so"

I tried to get an M2 Competition for a test drive. They had one, and would phone me back to arrange. No phone call

You'd think pulling up in an S3 would make them think I'm not some tire kicker hoping to rag a new car around for a couple hours. Plus, I'm in my 40's, so not some youth either. Then you hear that new car sales are down. Wonder why?

that is really really poor, and have had those experiences before in the past. I just walk away, but frustrating none the less.
As you say, they should be keen as mustard to try and get a deal
