What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

Well, I'll be saying goodbye to the A3 on Friday, I've given the interior a nice spruce up, been practicing my 'line technique' I can't seem to do it on the seats though. Took the exterior picture down in cornwall after giving the car a detail a few days before. This will probably be the last picture of the old girl on here.

Yeah - was only doing some small bits so wasnt horrendous. If was doing whole car I'd have to get a DA and find somewhere to use it.
I've always had to do things on the street outside the house until very recently. Cleaning, servicing, repairs etc. Nightmare isn't it. Don't think the neighbours appreciated car bits all over the street either.

Fethyie in Turkey, hotel is The Residence by Barut Sensatori, the Hotel l was supposedly to holiday in on May but it wasn't finished in time,so TUI gave us free room for a week all l had to pay for was the flights....l also have family joining us through the week at hotel so it should be good ....as the holiday in May was a disaster

That's a good result :) What happened in May?

We were due to be away now from last Thursday!!! We were just about to book the hotel and I said to the wife "No wait, just had a strange feeling" thinking it may be a sixth sense saying the price would drop lol. However, when we looked again it was fully booked up and we couldn't find another hotel that suited us (adults only), so we said we've had 2 this year so we'll stay at home and do jobs in/around the house we have been putting off and put the money to next years holidays.

Looked on the news the other night and where we had been looking at = "Powerful Storm Hits Mallorca: 6 People Dead At Least in devastating floods"

Live on main road so cant even do that. But my old dear does have space so theoretically if I can sort myself a power washer and cheap DA I should be good.

A MK6 Golf GTI. Took me ages to find the right spec & mileage. Quite excited as it'll be the first performance-ish car I'll own. Can't bring myself to leave the VAG group as there are too many cars which they make that I want to own! I'll still hang around in the detailing forum obviously!

A MK6 Golf GTI.
Out with a mate this week and as we came back to the car we saw a Golf GTi, we both commented on the fact that every single GTi on the road no matter Mk1 or MK7 looks good! It's a timeless car....he had a MK1 GTi but sold it 5 years back, he wishes he'd kept it.

Made a similar comment. I know many on here are leaving Audi but at the Audi sport event I was at yesterday I just haven't seen any car that would really tempt me away from the Audi brand.
Very sensible to be patient and wait for the right one Golf GTI are a lovely car that's for sure mate, look forward to pics on the detailing forum!

Maybe the MK3 and 4 are the exception to that rule :puke:, but I agree GTI's are pretty timeless although I would have preferred to have a MK7 over the 6 purely because of the tech being a bit better. I had to make sure the MK6 had the factory xenons and LED rear lights otherwise it does look a tad outdated.

I was planning on an 8P S3 or FL A5, but I got a deal on the Golf I couldn't really turn down, I'll definitely be back in an Audi at some point as there are too many Audi's that I want!

The Hotel wasnt finished in time for the grand opening which was our first day there, this will be my 5th time to this hotel......but staying in the posher part this time....and after seeing it in May it aint my cup of tea....l prefer just the 5 star side of the hotel...so we will wont be using its facilities as l prefer the 5 star side of the hotel instead

Lost me a bit  So the hotel you had booked was a 100% new hotel but wasn't finished for your stay, so how is it your 5th time to the hotel? Do they have a sister hotel next to it which you've been to 5 times?

Is the The Residence by Barut Sensatori the 100% new one that you don't like the look of and wasn't finished in May?

There is only a walk way that separates both hotels ie Sensatori and the Residence yes..and yes it's the all new part I ain't keen on...my family are booked into the Sensatori part so we'll spend our time in there....the difference between both is the Residence has more upmarket rooms with their own cocktail bar in them...which is no use to me as l dont drink alcohol on holiday lol

lol. Just looked at the hotel and it looks nice...enjoy :) I'm not sure about Turkey though, don't know if I'd feel safe there! We are looking at the Tui Sensimar Matta Village in Sardinia for June next year, only 90 rooms, adults only and nice and quiet :)

Dismantled the SF lance today & all I can say is what a bitch it was to do
Got the gauze out and is soaking overnight in vinegar as we speak

Ordered a new gauze thro' Aliexpress but it ain't arrived yet. So if the vinegar treatment doesn't work a new gauze is on the way
I don't SF much so I'm in no rush TBH

Tried 2 of the the new bits out today :) Bilt & Hamber wheel clean and the korrosol....the sun was on the car by the time I was ready for the wetcoat, so I'll have to try that another day!

What I did notice with the alloys is that normally I have to wipe them dry at the end with a cloth, after using the B&H and washing it off they dried on their own with no watermarks!!!

The korrosol  I looked around the car and couldn't see anything that needed to come off!!!...but sprayed it on anyway! I did one side and came in the house for a few mins, went back out and couldn't believe how much it had picked up, the entire side from behind the front wheel back had bleed.

Cleaned the car with shampoo, dried it off and then applied a coat of BSD/Maguires mix with a damp mf cloth :)

Those two products are amazing. Bilt hamber auto wheel is probably my favourite product in the world when it comes to car cleaning.

Agreed, I love the stuff.

I really need to start selling it! Just about every time I use it someone walks past and asks what it is and where they can get it, shame they don't have a referral scheme!

Standard wash routine with the only difference being use of Beadmaker as well applied neat CP Perl on the tyres (single coat).

Cheers mate. It is actually the first time I have washed a any of my cars in the morning and I must admit it was a struggle moving it around from the direct sun light. Had to shampoo wash it twice and rinse immediately after to avoid water spotting

Quality work mate, your paintwork will feel so much smoother after using korrosol and getting the “****” off

Wash this morning...6 weeks of back and forth to Norwich at around 700 miles a week and she was filthy!

Was pleased to see that what I thought previously was alloy damage from Kerbing just turned out to be black marks from where the tyre squashed against the allot...but gutted to find as well that yesterday when I heard a small bang, I thought stone chip and it was but it's chipped my lights and damaged the paint See the final photo.

Some before and after of the clean, as per the rules.
