Hi Guys,

I've been looking at some new alloys on Demon Tweeks who do some pretty reasonable finance options and I was wondering what size I'd need to go for?

I need the width (options: 7", 7.5", 8" or 9"), diameter (I'll be going for 18"), PCD (Think this is 5x112?) and offset (35, 40 or 45)

Need a nice fitment with no rub and was hoping someone knows what the above is on the OEM black edition alloys so I could match that or if anyone has fitted some aftermarket alloys themselves and can point me the right direction?

Current tyres are 225/40/18 so I'm guessing I need to for 18"diameter, 5x112 PCD, 40 Offset to take my tyres I'm just lost on the width, I did see 8" somewhere just need the above confirmed?

Thanks in advance :icon thumright:

8” wide. You can use anything ET 54 to ET45. ET 45 will have the tyre sidewall in line with the top of the wheelarch lip so just legal without poking out of the arch.

ET45 is perfect for the 8P. You can reuse your existing tyres, 225x40x18 is correct and factory spec. 18” in an 8” (5x112pcd) wide is also perfect.

With an ET of less than 45 you may experience rub in the rear.

Thanks guys, love the response on this forum, absolutely cracking. Think I'm going to go for the Team Dynamics in the near future.

There lovely aren't they. Think I might get these soon and sell the standard black edition ones. Do you know what they're worth?

For the ones you already have I have just paid £540 for a set with good tyres on. There’s some on eBay for more than that price but they aren’t selling.

I would say if you’re buying aftermarket alloys then the ideal spec of a wheel for me would be 8J width with an offset of et45. That should fill the wheel arch nicely with no rubbing.
The ones you have now which I have just bought are 7.5J width with an offset of et54, which if you look at the car the wheels sit inside the wheel arch quite a bit.

Yeah there's quite a few on Ebay. without alloys they're up for around £450 so I might just stick them up for £400 for a quick sale and that's a huge chunk off the new alloys.

Was thinking of keeping them but the only reason for that would be when I sell the car in the future but it'll only be one of those things where I'd state that if the old alloys are to be included in sale I want another £300 on top and so on plus it's not a standard car overall so the type of buyer looking at it would probably prefer the aftermarkets anyway. Still doesn't seem right selling them but worth it in the long run I reckon.

As I was typing this I just come up with a cunning plan :welcoming: rather than laying down a deposit or paying off a chunk for the new ones I might just get them on finance for the full cost and then the £400 I sell the old ones for spend on more bits and bobs for the car :rockwoot::hubbahubba:

Just realised, I'm going to need black wheel nuts otherwise the standard ones will look odd?

Standard ones are m14x1.5 right? So I'm guessing I need the same size to match? and are they nuts or bolts?

@HOGG now that's a bit of me mate. Love it :icon thumright: saves some more cash. I would quite like some nice gloss black ones with white writing/manufacturer mark on like below as they'd look pretty cool but they're so expensive.

Speak to Demon Tweeks - some new alloys come with the hardware as you’ll move from a radius cut to a cone shape nut. I went to wheel studs over new nuts.

When I put the alloys in my basket (haven't purchased yet was just being a right women and got excited) they added some studs in for free so I assume they're the correct ones :thumbs up:

I am watching because i need new wheels as the std rotors are corroding under the paint but they do look spot on and i have not been brave enough to commit to After market especially with colour on a white car. Agree gloss black could work but i think with the splitters and trim being grey and knowing the std grey wheels work i might go for OZ graphite GT3 ?

They're lovely. I do love graphite alloys, my Subaru had graphite rotas.

My plan is to change anything grey to black anyway. I think black on white looks amazing

Hope the owner doesn't mind me posting this but this is look I'm going for. Absolute beut

I got these Autec wizards fitted a few weeks back and think they suit the 8P shape brilliantly. Et45 8j 18”.

This is what you want:

Ibis white with OZ ultraleggeras in matt graphite for the win!
Big plus is, that they fit over ttrs brakes without spacers!

Edit: managed to upload the picture from the phone

Thanks s , great picture. I would steer clear of the ultraleggeras because the spokes run proud on the rim
so when you inevitably curb them it can be problematic to do a good repair where as the Hyper GT spokes are not proud on the rim.

They're not far off double the price of the Team Dynamics and to be fair I personally think Dynamics look better :grin:plus the gloss black on everything else once I go black i.e mirror covers, front splitter, rear diffuser and some window vents will look spot on :icon thumright:

I think you get what you pay for TBH, i once bought BBS for a VR6 Golf and they just corroded away in front of me :) I suspect the rot had set in before they were even painted. Be careful with black badges, some things work and others dont, i just took front black rings off mine, had them on a week and they just didn't work, didn't even fit the rear ones and S3 badge as they had that Skoda (base model) look about them.

I think the black badges will look spot on. The picture I posted above is literally the look I'm going for and he's rocking black badges. Once everything else i.e mirrors, splitter, alloys etc are black the badges would look out of place being silver as they currently are.

Do you know who’s car that is? I have some questions about splitter and spoiler

Front splitter is Maxton design - they have two options....his one is the version 1 I believe < his words as I messaged him the other day.

Love that grille - seems to be an eBay minefield looking for decent ones - can I get a link for that one for my 2011 BE... cheers

I’ve got a link for you here mate. I’m watching a few on eBay at the minute. IMO this is the best as it’s got honeycomb inside the Audi badge aswell. I don’t like them when they are solid inside the Audi badge, it annoys me.

Yea but when you look at the pictures some have a honeycomb behind the grill and some dont so its 2 different grills.....which one do you get ?

Thanks - yep I agree on the badge thing... a lot better. I see now that the grille on the s3 is a genuine rs3 - hence it looks lovely.
