Do your windows rollup/down when you press the button on the driver side. If not reset it and then try again with your key fob.

Reset is simple, roll down the windows and keep the button pressed for 2-5 secs and release. Roll them up and keep the button pressed for 2-5secs. This will reset the windows and should also make them work with the Key fob.
 
It's a great feature when walking towards your car on a hot day ... get bit air inside before you get in

Have you tried hitting the unlock button to unlock the car first, then try pressing and holding again?

It's not a feature I've used much but seem to remember unlocking first. Not sure but worth a go I guess...
 
Unlock to open
Lock to close

If it closed windows unlock will definitely open them.

One thing I have learned is it dont always work 1st time .
 
Anyone know what % the DRLS day time running lights need to be at to get (wink) function back I have put mine upto 80% when HEADLIGHTS are on now this function is not working with lights off any help appreciated guys

9% is factory standard when headlights are ON

Right. I’ve enabled ADS but there’s nothing on my MMI when I go into car on the screen. Any ideas on how to activate it with Carista and the buttons? I don’t have VCDS. Suspension threw up a fault code for the self levelling headlights so managed to disable it and reset the fault so all good that way but engine ADS is there any way of opening it up?

What else can you enable off that green screen without screwing up the car? I see there’s a mirror section. Is that for turning on motorised mirrors if it has them? Folding mirrors I mean

I’m not entirely sure but with the engine and gearbox in Dynamic the car seems louder in the cabin at least. Maybe it’s physiological. Some manufactures build cars with the tech already in it then charge you a fortune on extras to unlock features it already has. I think BMW do this as I coded that and it didn’t come with folding mirrors when I bought it but worked after coding. Would the MMI go through the motions if it didn’t have the feature fitted?

Not an expert on the green / hidden menu and was advised not to change things I didn't know . If you don't have folding mirrors enabling them from Green Menu wouldn't change anything.

ADS is nothing more than changing some of the very basic characteristics of the car, i.e. Engine, Gearbox and Steering. By changing the values to different ones it does change the behaviour of each of these elements. For example, Steering in Comfort is really comfortable and more responsive in Dynamic.

Sure i read somewhere that if you dont have sat nav in your car the ADS cannot be enabled?

Cars without MMI or SatNav. I don't think it is related to SatNav as I activated it on my B8 A4 that I bought as a daily, which didn't have SatNav but had MMI. I believe the way you manage/choose between different settings on a car with MMI is different to a non-MMI car. However, you can always install the dash panel switches on a non-MMI car.

Must have been the MMI not satnav! I dont have MMI so i’ll have to forget about this ADS upgrade

Not really. You can still enable it but you'll have to use Carista everytime you change a setting. Personally, I have changed mine a few times and have not looked at them in the last two years ever since settling down on my preferred one

What do you mean by this? My car doesnt have MMI, just standard AMI/Concert. When I enabled ADS with Carista, no new menus or anything popped up. What settings do you mean when you say you need to use carista to make changes?

I changed mine from the green screen in the hidden menu. Push the car and menu button together for 6 seconds. I’m sure there’s a tutorial to get the ADS on screen.

Ah we don't have this on non mmi cars.
 
Updated to Carista 4.0 Beta 5 and it came with lots of new settings, more noticeable ADS settings.
I have a non MMI car, concert only so I cannot enable Charisma via the green screen.
I cannot change from ADS comfort as the car rejects it yet the above settings (channels 63 - 65) can be changed. Now from what I've read:
1 = Comfort
2 = Auto (Factory default)
3 = Dynamic
4 = Individual

I wonder if changing those values all to 3 would put my car into Dynamic or not as I cannot enable Charisma.

When in Carista to activate the suspension it threw up the headlight levelling fault as my car doesn’t have adaptive suspension. I disabled it and reset the fault and it was fine. I did activate engine and gearbox ADS and have this on my MMI now as I don’t have the buttons. I’m not sure how it could be turned on and off without MMI. Do you have the buttons for ADS?
 
So I'm pretty sure it enabled dynamic mode and I didn't experience placebo. The steering was definitely noticeably stiffer and the acceleration was different to what I'm used to.

To answer your question no I don't have the ads buttons.

May have a solution for non mmi cars like me.

Is there a step by step guide to allow dvd in motion through the green screen?
 
Under the app there is the option of fog lights for cornering lights with multiple methods to choose from. Does anyone know the differences between methods A and B?
 
Thanks Booboo. Don’t have VCDS though. I’ll get it done at some point.
