What happened

Got it and I absolutely love it :yahoo: guy was really honest as well before the sale and on arrival. Sounds amazing and feels really quick. Loving the DSG. Couldn't be happier with it.

Picked it up for £12950 and here she is.

I assume you looked at the pictures and my post above? :tearsofjoy:

Certainly not an ending....stories only just started :tongueclosed::icon thumright:

Have to save some cash first but the next move is probably going to be getting a TTS engine cover for it and possibly getting it Hydrodipped in carbon fibre along the line.

Don't suppose you or anyone knows where I can pick up the longer bolts for it?

Be very careful tightening up the long bolts. This has been sold by Creationmotorsport and there have been reports of them snapping off leaving the thread in the cylinder head. When it says genuine it is referring to the cover and not the bolts. The original long bolts that you cannot get easily were steel and so no chance of snapping.
The AKS versions are better.

Thanks for the heads up dude. I'll keep an eye out for that when I come round to purchasing one :icon thumright:

Someones selling a fully black engine cover in the classifieds for £100 I believe.

That looks spot on mate.....so frustrating though. Couple of weeks ago I went on holiday and missed out on a weeks pay (only just started my training to be an electrician so not getting holiday pay) just forked out the monthly bills and purchased the car so £100 is a no go at moment :sob:

Appreciate you letting me know though dude. Hopefully another pops up in the next month or so.....fingers crossed.

No dramas, keep an eye in the classifieds. Or drop them a message, they may hang onto it for you/ it may not sell :)

Thanks for the all the response guys. Wow, just wow. I honestly can't believe this car. Can't stay away from it and keep making excuses to go out for a drive.

Having the Subaru then this was such a drastic change overall as a vehicle it's really standing out in every department.

Sounds like music to my ears and pulls hard. DSG is just as exciting as I expected, honestly so glad a went down the S3 8P route.

Now I know some of you are you going laugh :tearsofjoy: and I genuinely mean it when I say I'm not after more power for a long time as I'm more than happy with it as it is. I'm just a curious guy and I'm interested to know what the next mod/s would be regarding more power.

There will obviously become a point where I will be going in that direction so I guess getting information now doesn't hurt ready for next year.

Also external mods i.e front splitter, alloys and so on. Anyone with an Ibis White one got a few external goodies that they wouldn't mind putting some pictures up of.

Current mods below:

VagBremtechnic j-Hook Discs (front and Rear)
-BCS Full System WRC exhaust with decat
-Yellow Stuff pads
- Revo induction kit
- RS4 Fuel pressure valve
-Vis internals (High Pressure Fuel Pump)
-Forge Motor sport hoses (Havent got around to fitting them)
-Genuine R8 Red top Coil packs
-Power Flex gearbox mount
-Upgraded intercooler to whats known as a wellycooler
-upgraded head unit recently to pioneer 230dab

Last service:

-Walnut blasting
- NEW Injectors changed
-Oil changed to millers nanodrive 5w40
-Filters changed (pollen, oil, fuel)
-Sump clean
-Latest revision PcV- dipstick and also DV
-New DSG oil and filter

Replace that rear wiper with the A3 8V rear wiper- looks so much better and (aftermarket) can be picked up for about £7 on ebay.

To be honest you've taken the 2+ stage as far as you can. You'll be into big/hybrid turbo territory next.

Performance mods aside, you could look to TTRS front calipers to improve the stopping, upgrading the suspension (coilovers?) and anti-roll bars.

I dont think its really practical to take it past 2+ TBH, you start looking at smaller gains for larger amounts of money and as Sam says any more power and you will want to do brakes and handling as well :)
Unfortunately you never quite get over the " take it out for the sake of it mode". eight years on and i still go out just to drive. typical down your way, Redhill, godstone, eastbourne ,brighton, worthing , horsham, and round is about a 100 mile trip/evening spin. :)...i have been known to do several laps of the one way system just delay getting home :)

Yeah I think I'll leave it in regards to power and go for handling. Coilovers and anti roll bars will be next I reckon :icon thumright:

Yeah 370 is perfectly fine. Further than that I may as well just save for the RS3. Think I'll go for handling so I can use the power on the corners.

So impressed you've had it 8 years mate honestly....probably quite normal I just go through cars like I do hot dinners. This one I can see me keeping for a long time though, fallen in love with it. The missus isn't happy though, she's been moved down the list as for now :boxing:

Probably going to burn through a jets worth of fuel weekly for a while. Should meet up at some point if you're down this way.

A lot of car for the money you paid, can’t believe you want to spend any more money on the car. But hey ho have fun.

We need a title change.

Yeah I thought it was a pretty good price considering what I'd come across on my search over the past month or so.

To be honest it won't be for quite a while, I just feel theres no harm on sticking ARB's or something on that will benefit the handling. This'll probably be next year though. First things first I need to get some money behind me for a full service at R-Tech.

How many miles do you guys suggest between each service?

You can’t change the title but @Sandra may be able to help?

Yeah I didn't think so. Wondering if you can help me in regards to the S3 badge on the front grill. Not sure why, but it's been removed and I want to get one back on there. Is it a case of removing the front bumper to get to some sort of clip or to screw it back on from behind or is there a simpler option?

The S3 badge clips in, but I think you need to take the grille off to fit the metal securing clip. I think I have a spare (genuine) if needed be but they have them on eBay.

Is it possible the securing clip is still in place or is that something that would just rattle off over time or essentially need removing once badge has been removed?

I'll probably just check the above in the morning to be fair.

Just read that to remove the front grill without removing the bumper you have to cut two clips that can only be removed properly if the bumper has been taken off which I'd prefer to do.....does sound like a lot of hassle just for a badge though.....shame it wasn't just left on.

It's actually not that bad to remove the front bumper and can be done without taking the wheels off.
From memory there are a few screws holding the arch liner to the bumper and a screw behind the liner on each side.
Roughly half a dozen screws holding the bumper to the under tray, which are best accessed by jacking up slightly and then the screw under the front bonnet which is known to seize.
Can be done in 20 mins fairly easily tbh.
Lovely car by the way, really does make me miss my old 8P S3, probably even more than the 8V S3 I had!

Don't recall a securing clip on my car forfthe front badge, mine was all plastic and just pushed in, although it's an A3. I do remember the badge will only fit in the correct place on the grille as the spring prongs are angled for a precise fit.
Make sure you buy an OE Audi badge, the cheap copies fade, rust and the red paint falls off.

@Will.T i have changed the title temporarily until I hear from you what you actually want. @samuelh_888 thanks for the tag. :)

Yeah I'll make sure to pick up an original one. You would think it would be a simple click on procedure or at least I hope it is. It's such a minor thing but definitely want one back on there at some point.

If the bumper has to come off then I doubt I'll get around to it for a while, to busy driving it :tongueout:

strange because in some of the original adverts it still has its S3 badge on the front.

Yeah I just noticed that, must of been an old photo....I reckon something happened when the bumper was off when they put the front mounted intercooler on or the lad just didn't like it, I'm sure I saw a picture on the cars instagram account that had the front number plate off so I wonder if he was going for that horrible blank look on the front of some cars

The guy I bought mine off also removed the front S3 badge... I ordered one as soon as I sent deposit

:tearsofjoy: where did you order yours from? Ebay seem to have taken over the internet with stuff like this or did you just go with a fake one?
