What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

I know what you are saying about the quotes on longevity and always take those with a pinch of salt. But as you know I used fairy to clear away LSP’s as recommended by @FranA3, as my coating wasn’t beading and looked dull. After that was shiny shiny and beading like a b@stard. As you know, subjective and all that, and we all do what works for us. For me I add Cure or Reload maybe every 4-5 washes give or take and water keeps beading and sheeting. Certainly happy with Gyeon Pure and still need to do JCW, but current coating on JCW still going strong 16 months in
Early start for me today, with a few hours gardening (before it got too warm) and filling up the paddling pool to keep the kids cool/amused for the day (you can just about make out little Jimbob ready to take a massive run up dive in, lol).
Then chilled out for a bit with a BBQ lunch and a couple of cold Peroni’s while the record Bank Hols temperature did its thing. Hit 30 degrees here today
After a wee mid afternoon shady nap in the deckchair (ok, so it was more than 2 Peroni’s), and when the front of the house was nice and shady, turned my attention to the missus MINI. Hadn’t touched it in about 2 months, and it was gopping. A tribe of spiders had a rave on it at some point and I couldn’t remember what the wheels looked like.

- PW Rinse
- BH Auto Foam and rinse
- BH Auto Wash and rinse
- TAC Systems Tar Zero and BH Korrosol paint decontamination and rinse
- BH Auto Wash and rinse
- Dry
- Full interior detail (vacuum, wipe down dash, steering wheel etc with damp MF spritzed with Surfex HD. Interior glass clean)
- Wheels (Surfex HD and Tuff Shine tyre brush on the rubber, wash wheels, dry wheels, then hit with BH Auto Wheels (iron fall-out remover) and wash again, rinse, dry
- Dress tyres with TAC Systems Tyre Gel (which is ok, but I’m willing it to run out so I can get some more Gyeon Tire)
- Seal paint with Sonax BSD. I want to NOT like this product, but for every reason I don’t like it, there’s another reason I really do. I don’t use it on the S3, but the Chili Red paint on my missus’ Cooper freakin’ loves this stuff, so I keep a bottle on my shelf and I always end up really happy with the results (which last a couple of months - it is durable!). This stuff polarises opinion (even my own, lol), but @ under 7 bangers for 750ml it is one I keep coming back to for her car.

Just bought 2 500ml bottles of Fireball premium Coating wax mate £56 ...better get some as it's going fast lol

During this morning's commute to work ...l drove through a light rain shower...the rate of water dispersion off the bonnet was exceedingly fast....makes gyeon wet coats beading look stagnant, some slight beading left on the roof was almost 360 degrees spherical....defo a bead monsterPic?

Cheers pal - must admit I had a little dip in the paddling pool to cool off after the MINI detail!
I normally wouldn’t wash the wheels before hitting them with iron fall out remover, but the MINI’s wheels were so caked in **** that it would just have been a waste of BH Auto Wheels to cut through dust and mud (when regular soap will get rid of this) - my logic was get the regular crud off first, then use the bleeding fall-out remover to shift brake dust that was still bonded to the wheels and not waste product. Make sense?
My replacement quick release short trigger gun arrived today - missed it yesterday, felt weird/a step backwards having to use the long lance with no hose swivel again. New one is MUCH better quality. Nice one in2detailing for great customer service when replacing the ‘old’ spring clip version that died after just a few weeks

Makes perfect sense, with the only worry being caked on crud “potentially” scratching/marring but probably over thinking. If/when I clean filthy wheels, I would PW down 1st, but then appreciate you can waste some wheel cleaner product, but I find I then use less as wheels are wet and agitate with a brush before rinsing and then washing.
Know what you mean, the quick trigger makes things so much easier, not least really getting in the wheel arches
Just might, might, get to use my quick trigger gun today, if it stops raining today that is. Idea conditions aside from the wet stuff, cloudy and no wind, I'm all setup to go...
It has but now have been asked to report to my local doctor at 12:00. Will have lunch after that and then hopefully crack on...

Your pictures do back it up though!Go get some....mate ye wont regret it....l would post photos but all you'd end up seeing is a alloy wheel or a door mirror...as l would have to crop the pics severely one of the reasons l cancelled my Gold membership...

A have a localish guy that sells Fireball products.....must drop in and see what he has left!
Got there in the end, first proper clean for probably over two months. Not sure about the Turtle Wax Sealant though, unless I was doing something very wrong, but no different to the d&d I usually use, it was very smeary.
@cuke2u - If it was smeary, its over application
Whereas I normally do 2 sprays per panel with QD's with the Turtle Wax I was only doing a single spray per panel. This way I had no smearing whatsoever. (I'm sure I said this in my mini review of this product)
I've noticed on DW that quite a few are using the TW as a drying aid. No smearing that way either
Very good, have some seepage from the adaptor I changed, so will need to remove it and apply tape. Otherwise very good the only issue being, I think, with the K4, I can't adjust the power as this is built into the lance.
The green adaptor worked very well though, thanks for the recommendation....
Yes I might have over applied it, I was getting short on my physical reserves by then, my legs were beginning to go, so probably rushing things, including myself...
Try Nanolex Final Finish when your due to replenish yer kit...best quick Detailer l have used and that includes DnD
I know, I know, it's the steroids though, I think, you should see the meds I'm on to counter the side effects. Have had to install an app on my phone to monitor it all. LOL...

Re: missing the adjustable power of the Karcher Vario Lance - forget that, easily rectified by just taking a step back - find that quicker than messing about with the temperamental Vario Lance anyway. Just adjust with distance.
