What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

Gave the S4 it's first clean under my ownership today. It's generally good condition all round, a few repaired stone chips but nothing substantial. I'm quite new to detailing but my mate did the majority of the work and advised me what to buy so will be maintaining it going forward.

Products used:
Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel - Smells awful but does the job so well
KKD Citrus pre-wash
KKD Blizzard snow foam
Carbon Collective Lusso shampoo
Carbon Collective exfoli-block (my mate's, first time I've seen it but i was impressed - so much faster than clay) w/ super concentrate Lusso
1 pass with Menzerna 3-step Heavy Cut 400
1 pass with Menzerna Super Finish plus 3800
Sealed with Menzerna Endless Shine

Stunning Sprint Blue S4 @AndrewW - and looking great on those BBS wheels - nice touch with the Audi centre caps :thumbs up:

Welcome to the detailing section of the forum - plenty of friendly helpful folks on here. It’s helped me up my game for sure.

CC Exfoli-block looks interesting - did you find this marred the paint less than a traditional clay bar?

Top work - always had a soft spot for a Sprint Blue B8 S4

Thanks! Feels so much better to drive a clean car.

Yeah the exfoli-block was really impressive. The medium pad left little to no noticeable marring, the heavy pad (used on the usual tar areas, bottom of front doors etc) left traces but didn’t seem as bad as a heavy clay. Possibly because it’s so much easier to keep really well lubricated!

I didn’t like the sound of it to be honest but once he showed me it in action I think I’ll get one ordered. They’re meant to be good for 50 washes per pad but he’s only done 3-4 so far so we will see.

No negative effects after a quick polish on my friend’s S3 either and his paintwork is spotless.

Not very often nowadays l come across a detailing product...that blows me away...in everyway...but l did Today
I Used Fireball's Nano Coat and l can honestly say its by far the best detailing product l have ever EVER used in my detailing years...its that good, l have ordered another 3 bottles of it before it goes out of stock...its pure magic...leaves a superb glass finish...easy to apply..it smells and looks, feels the same as any ceramic coating that l have used in the past..also Nanolex Final Finish is by far the best quick Detailer l have used...amazing slick glass finish....12/10 it gets, yeah its expensive but it's worth every penny...l can't recommend these 2 products highly enough,l will take some photos later once the sun dips....down and try and post them...as l have trouble uploading photos on here

So I started this about 2 months ago with a machine polish/correction using a Flex XC3401 and menzerna medium and fine cut compounds.
I then had to put it on hold due to some dumbo running it to the back of me at a roundabout.
Now that it's all fully repaired and the paint left long enough, I've finally got around to finishing off.
Its had a coat of gtechniq crystal coat, followed by 2 coats of Exo V4

I'd buy P&S Beadmaker. I can't justify £45 for 250ml, tbh, I have not seen as deep a gloss and shine as I have from Beadmaker.

Beadmaker certainly does not live it to its name mate leaves a lovely finish but not very hydrophobic
A little drop of nano coat really goes a long way, hardly used 20ml on one and half cars ...besides beadmaker is overpriced for a quick Detailer ,Nano coat is a semi/quasi ceramic coating not a quick Detailer

Carbon Black mate? Never mind popping, hard to keep clean. This IS my last black car, especially living on a dusty track. Washed my car last weekend, and 5 mins after finishing neighbour used disc cutter on red bricks for about an hour

So is BSD ;):D

Not according to most ceramic manufacturers, they recommend staying away from QD’s as clogs up ceramic. Had that happen on Q5. Now I just tend to use Cure or Reload for my coating, it been thinking of trying a ceramic friendly wax

@X3man - Can't find the link. Its some where deep in the detailing section of ASN Nev
However, it did say BSD was safe to use on any ceramic coatings

I'm not totally convinced, and never have been TBH, at ceramic product manufacturers claims
As you are aware Nev some of them are even quoting 5 years life on a ceramic coating without any maintenance, really ...
