What have you done to your A4 b6 today?

audi a4 2.5 tdi, front lower arms, upper arms, suspension top mounts, discs and pads all round, timing belt, cvt oil change, full service, rocker cover gaskets, all suspension bushes, anti-roll bar links, water pump and thermostat.

Car has just gone past 193,000 and running as nice as ever. Hopefully for many years to come.

Well done that man timing belt on the 2.5tdi looks a daunting task compared to the 1.8t.
I guess you had coppaslipped the pinch bolts previously?

Took mine to a breakers yard today and bought her some new (to me) headlights, fogs and few plastic trims to neaten up the engine bay, then to thank me she broke down on me 7 times on the way home (1hr drive) love her to bits though

What was the problem, crank angle sensor?

I have no Idea, EPC light has come on before but goes off within second but yesterday it kept coming on and staying on until the engine cut out, drives as normal today.

This is a code that never seems to save in the ECU, I have a fault with my Nox sensor (cant seem to find a cheap enough replacement) other than that, nothing else comes up

Its the Nitrogen Oxide sensor that reads the final gases coming out of the exhaust, ive been told there are 2 lambdas (oxygen sensors) and then the Nox sensor

I'm in the UK, we don't have Nox sensors just the two 02 sensors. It should just throw a code, there's no way it should make the car break down.

Ill find thw paperwork from Audi and QuattroTech (VAG specialist) and upload a picture

For some reason my phone camera wont focus on the page but it reads
Z44- heater for NOx sensor

G247 - fuel pressure sender
Z44 - heater for NOx sensor
G336 - potentiometer for charge motion flap no adaption
N276 - fuel pressure regulator valve
Check fuel low pressure.

All faults have been cleared and havent returned but the NOx sensor fault

Probably the Lambda sensor.

I just dont understand why both Audi and QuattroTech would tell me its a Nox sensor if it isnt that, a friends diag computer came up with Nox fault too, car tries to stall when started cold and after 20 seconds or so it smoothes out abit but doesnt idle right, fixed the coolant temperature sensor fault and now it seems to be running better and my miles to empty seems to be more consistent

Where is the mounting position of this Nox sensor?

Finally decided to put my new bumpers and non rusty wings on. Only taken a year to get around to it.

Ive read on other forums that it is screwed into the exhaust (like a lambda) and the wiring and control unit are under one of the front seats, apparently because its hard wired to the control unit, its more expensive

gave her a good wash and polish.. as she's now up for sale.. only selling as i bought an Audi a4 Avant..

Looks good mate.
Is it legal to put yellow film on the headlights?
Just thinking the indicator orange bulb will effectively be obscured by the yellow film??

Thanks dude! Cheapest mod to do haha!

There is no MOT requirement on the colour of the fogs but I’d imagine headlights have to be clear.

You could always change the bulb to a chrome bulb? That would get rid of the orange nicely

Headlights can be tinted but only to a certain transparency, google it, you can have all sorts of shades and colours.

Paid for it! Then had to drive straight to work and do an 11 hour shift before I could get back in it...

Don,t have photos yet cause I just bought my Audi A4. So excited to get her out on the road!

Oh and yesterday I retro fitted full nav plus RNS-e
Who ever spec'd the car new ticked every single box apart from that one :persevere:

Tidied up the front wing wheel arch ( rust ), just a temporary job to get through winter then i'll have a pair of new wings.

Went all black out on Sunday, front grilles plus door blades...

Yeah I wasn't sure at first but after fitting my bargain OEM mud flaps that I'd also refurbed in matt black the whole lot ties together, after all the window surrounds and roof bars were already black. Just need to work out how to remove the chrome bumper strip as it's the only bling bit left

Id be interested to see these fitted as well, my buttons are all worn and look terrible! Even worse at night now as all the red light shine through.

Theres loads of sets on ebay.

There's been some talk of where to install additional gauges. Personally, I think A pillar and air vent gauges take away from the OEM finish, let alone the instrument cluster blocking ones.

I thought I'd share my chosen oil pressure gauge location down in the change drawer by the driver's right knee.

It's a great choice as it maintains, complements even, the OEM finish, is right next to the fuse box to run a live, and also directly underneath the hole in the firewall through the ECU box to run the sender wire. The readout is easily read through the steering wheel when driving.
