What have you done to your A3 (8p) this week

Mine work fine and do a better job that the 3 jet ones , its just the fan is to wide and catches the trailing edge of the bonnet. silly problem, maybe cured with a change of screen wash brand. dont know whats in the halfords stuff but it sets like a sticky treacle...

My mechanic told me to not use the Halfords stuff unless I water it down as it leaves a horrible residue which then blocks the nozzles on the sprayers.

Spot on sawyer, for some reason the halfords stuff is water soluble in the bottle but use it neat and its sets hard and doesnt wash off with water ?. I had to use engine cleaner to get it off. I will water it down in the washer bottle as soon as there is space and i will not use it again..

Booked appointment with audi as the traction control and abs lights on constantly :( hopefully just a wheel sensor and more something more expensive

Booked in for a Haldex service Friday up at CM Tuning as I stupidly went on milage instead of years and it hasn't been done since 2014.. ( it may have been throwing a Haldex pump code and causing Haldex not to engage)

If it’s throwing the pump code it’s probably gunged up and will most likely need changing unless it gets cleaned out, they won’t normally do that as part of a service, also make sure they change the filter as Audi garages don’t change that either

In for a MOT first day back from holiday and also having a brand new set of PS4'S slapped on. Then just a short drive to amd tuning for some alignment and tracking

Had a new clutch and flywheel other day as the old one was rattling when switching the car off and had done 130k on the original. New one is doing the same and it’s driving my head in now. Just want it to be quiet when turning off. .

Quite a list this week:

Removed 15mm rear spacers due to upcoming trip abroad.
Wired in speakers to rear doors
Wired in Bluetooth Connects2 module
Installed dash cam
Had oil pickup pipe replaced along with oil and filter change
Finished off with a wash and dry followed with application of Angel Wax to glass

I got sick and tired of the dealer ripping me off so i searched around found this place that sells genuine Audi parts much cheaper then dealers and they even had a phone number so i called and the answered my questions has anyone else used this place before ? https://www.audipartsprime.com/

Had a slight misfire problem on Cylinder #2 and after a good few days fault finding we eventually found the culprit and had to get him replaced .
Now I guess not a thing you want with your car but after a 100.000 miles on the clock I guess I am not as bothered as much as I would have been if it had been only 30k / 50k as I have heard others say,
Plus at least I know there is no leaks anywhere and everything else from top to fault is working great and I will be happy if I get another 100,000 miles before another one goes .

Please enlighten me on DSG Farts, I am new to the DSG - S-Tronic world.

Does it have to be a decat and petrol to get the farts?
Nope stock dsg will do it on hard accel. Causal diving maybe but more quite ways to make it louder but no obnoxious is a mid silencer delete on the exhaust and aswell as an intake as it made mine louder then it was with stock intake system.
Decat would make even more louder plus ull get more burble and pops etc from the exahaut note

Retrofitted the OEM Bluetooth phone module to work with my Symphony 2+. Much easier than I thought it was going to be, took about 2 hours from start to finish. Thanks to @s8craig and vag_retrofits for the help and the advice. £89 from eBay with a new mic and a plug and play wiring harness.

Does that allow music to be played through Bluetooth or just phone calls?

My next (and probably last) retrofit on my A3 8P. Front parking sensors with OPS to integrate with the R8 rear view camera.

Have you got part numbers/link to the parts mate? And how easy did it go together?
It’s something I really want on my S3

Installed Xtrons headunit yesterday - great unit to be fair for price I got it. I'm thinking about installing the external mic and dash cam next but not sure where to run wires from the back out of the unit - are there any gaps behind the head unit to run the cables from?

Fitted my Dension Gateway 100, this is the 3rd car it’s been in. It has served me well and beats the hell out of the OEM Audi iPod attempt.

I got a diesel DSG, and I guess when you say farts you refer to the pops you get from petrol engines.

No i meant the actual burps you get when changing gears, didn't know they made diesel dsgs that's good , but yea you do get the crackles and pops with a petrol

Hi everyone,

I've been coming and going to the mechanic two weeks now as my ride went in for a set of rubber as they were shot. Four new tyres and an alignment later gave me a car that did go to the left if I let the steering wheel unattended; went to another mechanic whom told me last tracking was out of parameters, and car still doesn't want to go as it should, even though mechanic says it's on parameters.

Also had some lighting issues still waiting to be adressed (xenon lights are pain in the ***)

I'm willing to paint the grill satin black as I'll need to take apart the bumper for the bulb swap.

Nice rides I'm seeing here!! keep the good work pals

Mine does the same thing since I put on new tires 2 summers ago. Two different alignment later it still does it, mostly noticeable on roads with a lot of camber. I've been told it could be tire conicity. My mechanic haven't found anything wrong suspension wise do I believe it could simply that. Haven't bothered to fight for tire replacement...

was awake around 2am last night so thought why not wash my car. courtesy of a worx hydroshot and asdas underground carpark
