What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

Sorry guys, it’s not that bad.....honest!

My excuse is that the mother in law borrowed the power hose to clean her drive.
Which I ended up having to do, so it was finding the time for that that delayed the power hose return.

Will post some pics once it’s clean.

Just told the wife to expect the delivery tomorrow and I’ve to get the grass cut and the showers cleaned before I even think about cleaning the car!

@Tashfeen - Before any of the guff you've tried on the scuff marks I would have tried a baby wipe. Plain & simple
Always find these work for me. A much cheaper way that using bespoke detailing kit IMHO

Probs a bit late now as I suspect you've already done 'em
Where Have I been? Been away on the caravan for another 9 nights. Away in a fortnight for another 10 nights too :D

@S32B - Easy ...
:sign dontfeedmods:
lol

@Tashfeen - Flipping heck mate - I go away for a week & look what happens !
Seriously mate, here's hoping for a quick recovery
So we will be seeing a lot more of you on ASN then lol

Oh & Dodo Juice Lime Prime is guff - I gave my last bottle away
Go for Auto Finesse Rejuvenate - a way much better product IMHO
But as we know, 'tis all a bit subjective this detailing malarchy ;)

Cheers BH. I am learning to typing with the fingers now so, apologies for the delay in getting back.

I bought the wipes yesterday and going to be ordering a few bit in next couple of days so, will keep you all posted with the progress I make.

A quickish wash this morning (2hrs:tearsofjoy:) bilt hamber shampoo and P&S bead maker carpro Perl for tyres. Didn’t bother with snow foaming as the car just had light road grim and dust

Car snowfoamed, washed and dried. Inside hoovered, leather cleaned and protected. Plastics cleaned and carpet washed.

Just a quick pic after popping to the shops

Very impressed with Autoglym UHD Wax, was beading nice on the cleaning stage. A lot better than the AF wax I was using. May be down to application as opposed to the product..still very happy with it.

Stunning looking car :thumbs up:

What water filter are you using? Has it eliminated the need to towel dry the car?
Thank you for the compliment
I use the race glaze one mate. I still dry the car but do hear others let it dry naturally.
It just means you don’t have to run around the car worrying about water spots

Right @SPIKE_S3 @Bristle Hound @X3man @jassyo06 been hard at it today so here’s the results. In addition to the products recently purchased, as previously posted, I also used Bilt Hammer SF, Auto Finesse shampoo and VP bilberry wheel cleaner.

Thumb might be broken but I still have 9 fingers working perfectly fine. Well, 7 actually as the index and middle finger also took the hit.

Anyways, won't be an avid / hobbyist detailer it I didn't wash the car. Managed to take only one picture as I started late and only just finished with the interior Rest to follow tomorrow

Honestly mate , admire your determination . No detailing for me at the minute . Car looks dreadful . Got so many new products to use and apply including Syncro. Snowed under with refreshing the home interior at the moment.

Not bad for a care in the community patient, lol. New wheels on the Scuba Blue A3 looking tip top pal :thumbs up: Three words for you though. Wheel. Arch. Gap. What’s to be done about that? :whistle2: :smilingimp:

Hope your digits are healing well buster, and good to see you’re still able to indulge ‘the hobby’.

My missus is starting to get tetchy about the amount of time I’m spending on the McLaren Garage Project :grimacing: Getting there though. Three quarters + through the decorating now, and have a good quote for the new garage doors which I’ll be pulling the trigger on v. soon. Tricksy space to decorate, is the old garage - could have redecorated the entire downstairs with the hours I’ve put in so far. Many pics to follow soon...

PMSL @Jimbob76 at the patient bit arch gap. I know I could fit in our street garden party in there and there would still be space left for gate crashers .

It is on the shopping list for September end alongside the BBK for S4.

If only there was a way that could keep them happy for long. You might decide to put the garage bit on-hold for now and I am sure they'll find something else to moan about . I'll just crack on, finish the project, relax and ask the Mrs to start from scratch again

Not detailing, but a future detailing “bay”

So now need to get rid of log store slabs, compact down the type 1 hardcore (after laying membrane), install gravel grid system, and finally add gravel.

Then do the same on my main drive

Great spot.

Don't forgot a Detailing tent canopy for when it's spitting for the bay.

Finish it off nicely for those unpredictable rainy days.

Autosol and a MF cloth, if they've not had any attention since new (which I'd doubt they would have before you picked it up) then mine came up like new with the above! Now the soot comes off easy enough with simple shampoo.
Easy to keep on top of if you tackle them with the big stuff first so to speak.

Can see the shine on this pic when I done mine last week.
