At some point im looking to retrofitting oem bluetooth.

As these bluetooth systems are 12+ years old, how they fair connecting to new smart phones?

I have a Samsung Galaxy s9 currently, and i dont what to fit the oem equipment to find out its no longer compatible as its outdated.

Could someone with oem bluetooth and a modern smartphone confirm all is well or not.

Alex

I've got a Huawei and have also used Nexus phones with no problems.

Mine also works fine with my iPhone 7 plus however I do find the volume to be quite low even on full.

Mine works great.

I just need to work out streaming music from my iPhone XS Max via the RNS-E.

There is no streaming options using the Audi bluetooth module, you will need to find an aftermarket solution.

How did it go, Have just ordered one for my RNS-E

I never actually got around to buying one. Still need to get one as it’s driving me mad not having my music/podcasts etc.

You’ll have to let me know how yours is :)

Is it RNSE? I find mine sits very tight in the dash, so i have to drop the glovebox and push from behind if that helps.

What is it you have bought?

He bought a Bluetooth adapter to be able to stream music etc. It’s linked a little further up the page

I’m currently looking into this lead.

Bluetooth Module for Audi RNS-E Navigation A8 TT R8 A3 A4 Radio 32 Pin AUX Cable https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/392282549918

I would also need to update the software on the RNS-E an enable the aux function in VCDS.

Fitted one of these today. Had to pick up on a switched live and ground from the stereo loom but now have working Bluetooth for music and phone. For under £10. You have to control music by phone but it works.

Good to hear it works. Did you have to enable anything on VCDS?

No worked straight up. I don’t have vcds. I have the 3.5mm aux plug so had to unplug that as used the same 32 pin plug. Tbh. Works exactly as the old school aux input just wireless.

This is rns-e. Not sure if same module for non sat Nav or not?

Mine is RNS-E too but have read that VCDS is required to enable to Aux function. Guessing yours is already enabled.

Think I will purchase one now.

Thats right, i fitted a "genuine" aux input to my rnse, has to be software version 650 or something to allow aux coding
