Hi everyone

I’ve tried researching this but can’t seem to find a relative answer. Changing pads all round on my PFL and moving away from OEM - Have settled on Ferodo but need some advice please!

Car is used for fast road driving at most. Never tracked and not tuned. Can anyone tell me which pads I should be going for and the differences between the DS Performance / DS2500?

Thank you

DS2500, good bang for the buck but not certified for road use

EBC, Red or Yellow stuff also good options.

Don't forget you need 8 pads in total, some suppliers don't take that into account when supplying pads and you may need to order 2 sets, just check before assuming and ordering.

Thanks for the above! Want to stay away from EBC to be honest.

Can anyone tell me how the Ferodo pads compare to each other?

I’ve tried 2500 on my last RS3 and didn’t like the initial cold bite, was a bit vague for my liking, although worked well when warmed up.
On this RS3 I’m running Ferodo pads can’t remember if they’re premier or performance although these are perfect.
Had squeal when first fitted but once I fitted the anti squeal shims they’ve been silent.
Done about 8000 miles on them and very happy.

Just checked my invoice they were Ferodo DS performance pads.

Great thanks mate, will go for the performance! Did the anti squeal shims come with the pads? Where did you buy the pads?

Much appreciate insight.

I bought the pads through Trevor Leigh as posted on here by another member.
You’ll need to ask for the shims as he didn’t supply them with them initially.

DS2500 here.

With Reyland discs they are pretty much perfect.

That set up looks amazing, can only imagine the improvement it must bring. Unfortunately I don’t have the disposable to stretch to that at the moment.

I’ve come from an M235i to the RS3 and have to say I’m no where near as confident on the brakes. Hopefully the pads will help!

They are soooooo much better than the OEM Audi set up.
The DS2500 actually improve the more you use them.

I was the one that worked with Trevor Leigh to sort out the standard Ferodo DS performance Pads, which on my PFL were great, no noise in 18 months of ownership.
Sadly not the same on my FL car, the oem discs squealed with every pad I tried, so they went in the bin.

The DS2500 need a much more aggressive bedding in procedure then the Ferodo instructions say......mine were squealing badly after the procedure, so I went and gave the car some serious motorway braking on a quiet stretch near me, they’ve been silent ever since.
