I've got a 2016 1.4tfsi which I've had since new, it looks like I'm going to have it for a couple more years at least due to saving for a house.

Anyway, so I've been thinking things I could do with it. I'm thinking new alloys over the standard 17" and de-chroming trim via wrapping (wish I had done full wrap now looking at the paint chips!).

As for performance though is there only really either a remap or tuning box available or are there other options. I'm not looking to go mental because of the large insurance increases. Also I'm a little concerned that the 1.4 was replaced with a 2.0 with the same power. Maybe the 1.4 is already near its peak?

Anyway what do you guys think? What options are there to freshen it up and give it a bit more pep?

I have 19s and dechromed everything and lowered and it looks alot better, I am wounding about performance wise now aswell

I would put a tuning box, preferably DTUK, as my first option. Had one on my A4 1.4 and it was quite impressive. I think Audi just made a marketing decision as there is plenty that can be obtained from the 1.4...

Correct me if I'm wrong but a tuning box only affects performance on high revs? So you would have to still rev the engine to 3500-400 revs to actually notice a difference or does it affect lower revs as well?

No a tuning box alters the manner in which the power and torque is delivered. It can come in at a lower rpm and be spread evenly throughout the rpm range. If you wish for further information contact @ABYSS who is the owner of DTUK and a AS site sponsor. Always willing to answer any questions.

I still have mine from my 1.4 140ps A3 and would be willing to sell it...

Thanks, I will take a look into this (insurance depending!). Is there anything else you could do as well as the tuning box or is that all it needs? What do you have now after your 1.4?

If you have an stronic then I recommend tcu tuning, however DTUK's pedal box can be beneficial for either gearbox. My current car is in my signature...

OK thanks, no it's just a manual sport, nothing special. Keep thinking about a new car but can't justify an S5 at the moment and with them all going to diesel I've no idea what my next one will be!

Oh, I'm using tapatalk so it's not showing any signatures.
