Hi All,

I already know the answer to this as I’ve looked at images online but it’s narking me as something has to be up and I’m hoping someone can give me a clue.

The rear wiper blade on my c6 allroad sits on the passenger side when at rest not on the drivers side as in all of the pictures I’ve seen. When I use the wiper it does sweep towards the drivers side but goes beyond the window and down the tailgate about 6 inches then returns to the passenger side to rest.

Could it be that it’s the wrong motor for this car or are the internals so faulty that it runs the wrong way?

Also the cap that sits over the nut is empty, there’s nothing to direct the water out of the two holes that are there, can anyone shed any light on that too?

Many thanks

Cheers my friend. I don’t have that inside my cap I just have one single jet that’s pushed inside the hole in the spindle that the water come out of.

Do I push this new fitment over that single jet or has some goon just pushed that in and I need to chuck it away...

That nozzle just sits on top of the outlet.

I have changed my whole arm and the blade with A4 B8 Avant one.
Arm looks so much better and modern on that rear end of our C6's.

As said above, sounds like your motor is on its way out.

All replacement parts you can get salvaged. Still oem but not as pricey.
Another thing will be that, new replacement parts always stand out as "brand new" but that way, they will blend in

It looks much better few days after application but still not dark enough to me.
Don’t want it too dark but that light either.

Medium smoke tint on order.

Will need to do cut outs for reverse light and indicators, as tint dim them a bit.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you for the pics, very nice car and I see what you mean about the arm it’s much shorter but looks way better. I suppose genuine is the only way to go as the non genuine seem a little too cheap for me.

So, it’s a new motor, new jet, new arm and blade, good start to the week :puke2:

If you look around and ask breakers for the complete arm with the jet, you might get lucky for the lot.
eBay wiper arms a cheaply made and plastic is just sh@ite.

I wouldn't go for the salvaged wiper motor, though.
That is a part that is easily accessible so warrantied part would be recommended.

Blade I got from eBay as Halfrauds didn't had any.

Point taken about the motor, I wouldn’t have a secondhand one anyway as your just buying potential problems.

Having trouble finding a used arm though, I had bought one from eBay this morning but they bust it taking it off...classic

Funny.
This is my second arm from B8 as first one they also busted and repaired. It held for good 6 months, if not longer and it would still hold if I didn't pressure washed it accidentally while it was upright. It slammed on the window and broke off in the fixing point.

Is it common with breakers to just yank the stuff off?

I was getting some rear seats fixing plastic grommets for the previously owned A4 and they cut them out with metal/chassis, just to get them out safely. They even posted it like that but they easily just popped out.

Think it depend on the person who is trying to retrieve or salvage part for you. He can retrieve it for you but if will not be salvaged. Lol

There’s an Audi salvage place about 15 miles from me down in Teeside, they regularly post stuff on eBay from across the Audi range so I’ll try and find them on eBay and give them a call tomorrow, fingers crossed.

What I’d ideally like to do over the summer is to fit some led rear lights, mine are a bit rough feeling and dull so I’ll look to replace with any luck.

Can you share some details of that breaker, please?
Need a part for my car.

Tailgate rear lamps are very desirable parts so you might struggle.
I had that problem but managed to find a set of them from German eBay seller at reasonable price.
These lamps going dull after some time and show hairline cracks inside the lamp.
I've polished and sealed mines and they still came back dull few months after.
Have an eye on aftermarket matrix style lamps but still am bit off with £500+ price.
Near future will show

Hi, they are called a8parts on eBay, not sure about their prices yet so I’m going to do some comparison work today......

Managed to get an arm, end cap, jets and wiper blade for £22 delivered from a breakers called helmsley2015 on eBay.

He was good enough to take it off first then give me a shout with pictures to prove it was ok before I paid for it.

Really nice lads. Pleased now......

Get a brand new wiper blade anyway, as you never know what happened with the one from salvaged car.

Any luck with motor yet?

Thank you for the eBay Audi part seller.
Will check them out

I’ve already bought a new blade but he insisted I take his as part of the package so I didn’t want to argue.

I’ve bought an SKV Germany motor, they’ve got good reviews and come with a 4 year guarantee so all good......

Finally a sunny day so swapped out the motor and wiper arm.

The only thing is the wiper blade hits the boot on the cleaning stroke, I have the arm horizontal when parked.

Is there any adjustment I should be carrying out to stop this.

Right, got to the bottom of this. The SKV motor that they had sent me was the wrong one, it fit perfectly so it must be for a VAG group car it’s just the wipe arc radius was too large.

So I bought a Valeo motor and it worked perfectly, so jobs a good in.....

I think that all of the rear wiper motors look the same physically, but the gearbox internals are different.
The one on my A6 looked very like the one on my Mk1 Octavia.

I have been over to Prestige Motor Service (A8Parts) and found them very helpful and also quite willing to negotiate on price.

The rear wiper on my newly acquired C6 was sitting in the middle of the window, I was prepared to have to strip the boot and un-seize the motor, I was pleasantly surprised that the fuse had blown, maybe trying to sweep snow off or something as the motor isn’t stiff or slow to move.

I love the quick easy fixes  although that’s rarely the case.
