Q5 Q5 55 TFSI...

So, it’s a 2.0T with an electric motor that either boosts performance or gives you 26 miles (claimed and presumably at a steady 46mph) of electric only.

For £55k starting price. Not sure that package is ready for market unless it leases incredibly well.

Cant figure out if it works for company car drivers or if they still get taxed highly. Low emissions number should help.

Audi do seem to be whacking up prices well above the rate of UK salary growth and also allowing dealers to set the interest rates on the deals they do. (I know some of this is Brexit FX rate move).

I suspect a fall in sales.

Shame because it’s a great car on paper just too expensive.

Or its about as fast as an SQ5, more economical, well specced and moving with the times, for similar money to a Volvo XC60 T8....

Not for me but then neither will the new SQ5 diesel. That's about as much to do with the move to touchscreens as the weird engine line up... looks like back to BMW or off to Merc next time....

Hmm, X3 M40i with £4K options, and discounted to £47k...I know which one I want. Even if it is a devils engine 3.0 Twin turbo

GLC43 not a patch on rivals, GLC63 mega, bit mega money.

Have a look on YouTube at some of the X3 M40i reviews, you may be changing from SQ5 sooner

Son in law had an X3 3.0d Msport, so I have seen the car up close...

If I trade it will almost certainly not be for another SUV - maybe an E class cabriolet but with summer coming deals arent great. Might sit it out another 12 months and get a new one on order for this time next year, when I will have had the SQ5 for nearly three years...

I am in no rush to swap my SQ5 for an X3 - its a very nice car but very much "the same, no better" so why look to throw more money away!

fair enough, was a tongue in cheek comment to be honest. I wanted a new 3.0 petrol, which Audi no longer do, and for an extra £20 p/m for me was a no brainer. Also with the new X3 interior it was worth a look

If it had been around when I ordered the SQ5, its probably fair to say I would have gone for whichever was cheapest! Do like the X3, just think as the dog gets older she will struggle getting in boot of an SUV, so if she is coming in the car, might as well have something different. Alternative is a fast estate - where 540i is a contender,

I went the other way (from A6 avant), wife hated it, hence the "too hasty" move into 2.0 Q5

Had an A6 saloon (3.0TDi quattro, 2015) but it didnt reign long, due to change in circumstances (my wife died). With relocating and buying a house I managed with her Mini then a Volvo XC70 for a bit for cheap functional motoring. Now I have the house and nothing to remind me not to waste money....

Read the 1st part of your sentence, and was going to say strong engine, but then the 2nd part took wind out of my sails...my commiserations :-(

Don't know what else to say tbh...

I am not the first and wont be the last - and with 2 kids and now a grandson, you just have to get on with it.

It does remind you that life is for living - and now I only have to run one car (and a station jalopy) I treat myself to the SQ5. My late wife would approve, she loved the A6 and kept telling me I should have had an Audi sooner....

Had My Q5 TFSI E 55 for 5 weeks now and loving it. Still nippy enough on Battery alone but put it in sport mode and wow!!. the only problem i have already is the charging port locking pin has given up so wont take a charge. im booked in with the dealers for Monday morning, so will update once i know any more. hopefully its not a common fault and im just unlucky.

They are definitely more discreet than the SQ5 with little to give away that they are so fast.
I have an SQ5 on order but having had one of these go past me on a dual carriageway recently at some speed, I did look up the specs / prices.
They are a similar price, but I admit I like the V6 diesel option (we have an A6 Allroad at present), so I've decided to stick with what I've gone for. The SQ5 also has a higher towing limit (we need to tow a horse trailer).

However, I think Audi might have missed a trick here in that they could have offered that hybrid engine in SQ5 trim and given buyers a petrol / diesel choice.

BTW, what sort of fuel economy are you getting a present?

After having a test drive with the A6 and Q5 e. I'm leaning more towards the Q5. I like how spacious it is and how nippy it is. Once I'm finished with my A4. The Q5 hybrid will be the next car to go for. I did also try out the Q8. Lovely car but felt a bit more heavier.
