What have you done to your 8V today?

They must know you well
Still think 2 months is a tad soon, will still go for the laughs and maybe sway a test drive in something worthwhile haha!

Not today but last week it was in 4 days for a full paint correction and ceramic coating. If you are thinking of doing it, do it! It is amazing. Car is really really really shiny and it really does repel dirt. Any dirt that does stick it comes off so easily!!

Agree, just the maintaining the shine is the tricky part

Really? I thought it stays shiny. I had Gyeon DuraFlex put on and it's guaranteed 5 years they claim. We will see! I have a top-up bottle which is supposed to be for the hydrophobic layer as that only lasts 24 months.

Similar to Gtechniq - Ultra provides 9 year guarantee and use C2V3 to top up the shine and hydrophobic properties. I have to say that I think it works well :grimacing:

Got my front brake pads and discs (Brembo) fitted, yesterday got the Eibach pro-kit springs fitted. Not a massive drop obviously, can slightly feel the suspension being firmer, but its fine :)
Now just need to decide if want to get 19" new alloys or stick with 18s.. no magride so not sure how much firmer would be..hmm

put youtube into my android auto.. Why? Because you can lol

Also fitted the RS3 door handles. A lot nicer looking.

Only stays shiny if it is properly maintained, but clearly a coating makes maintenance easier, but just like the paintwork, the coating can get “clogged” with product which is why most recommended certain shampoos (such as CarPro Reset) that clear any QD’s, top ups etc.

My coating was supposed to last 3 years, but I have just redone the bonnet, and before the water wasn’t running off like it is now! A clear sign the coating was “gone”

I thought p0rn wasn't allowed on this site?? :hubbahubba:

Using CarPro Reset myself, great product combined with CarPro Hydro2 lite or non-lite.

Sounds very good mate! I'd say there's more crackles than my FL W/ BCS Res delete had. Either way, sounds very nice

Just for bragging rights: When I had the S3 in for the day they gave me a brand new R8 as an apology for the inconvenience :);)

Yeah they are dragging that out! Think I mentioned in another post that I nipped into Audi a few weeks back to show them a paint defect, I said I'd make do with a touch up stick and do it myself...I got it there and then!

The reason I got the R8: When I was collecting the car I noticed a tiny chip on one of the alloys, they said they'd repair it!!!...I said I wanted a new alloy as I've bought a new car and not a used one! They agreed but then dragged their feet getting it, so I phoned them up asking what was going on, they replied with "We are waiting to get an S3 in, then we will just switch the alloys over", to which I replied "What, so you are going to change it for another customers alloy and hope they either don't notice it or make do with a repair?"...at that point I complained to Audi UK, it was all sorted within a week ;)

This was the alloy/chip in question:

That is shocking that they were just going to swap the wheel with someone else's car, can't quite believe they'd even contemplate that. Solve an issue by passing the buck essentially.

I've been back to my local audi 3 times now in regards to my issue, last time they had someone from audi to take measurements of the paint across the car to make sure it hasn't been resprayed after an accident and that cause the defect (to which my response was "I hope not as bought it from here and wasn't told this!!!"). Said I'd have to wait a few days to get approval from audi and they'd then need to order parts and have my car for at least 5 days to sort the issue.

5 days  they are taking the P, it could be done in a day max! What parts? some...primer and white paint?!?! lol.

A lad in work recently had an insurance claim after someone had reversed into him, he needed a new headlight, bumper repair & sprayed, wing repaired & sprayed and an alloy refurbished...they had it in for 3 days.

I'd contact a local repair centre and see what they quote and ask how long it would take them, then show Audi that and ask why 5 days.

If you have no joy in the next few days contact:
Andrew Doyle, he's the managing director of Audi UK andrew.doyle@audi.co.uk also copy your email to executive.office@audi.co.uk

Good luck...first thing that springs to my mind is that they are giving you the run around because of your age! (no offence, I know you're an intelligent lad) Which if they are is very annoying, but they did the same with my 21 year old nephew when he bought a new car, I had to step in and sort it out for him.

My thoughts exactly. The approval process apparently takes longer as it is to do with paint. Not a bad shout on the body shop got a few goods one around here so might pay them a visit. I don't mind the time too much if it is done properly, they said it'd be going to their bodyshop. Got a week off work so will try and get a nice courtesy car to enjoy to make it worthwhile, thanks for the email, will give him a bell if this drags out any further. 6 weeks so far for a small blemish.

Did you not feel anything going over that. That would have taken some effort to punch through the tyre. Luckily it didn't blow out mate.

Stage 1 or stage 2? Mine is mapped with unicorn but the ECU wouldn't allow pops and bangs while static

Stage 1, so in any drive select mode if i put the gearbox into sports it will do pops and bangs when moving, though i need to be in dynamic drive select when static.

Got my maxton front splitter fitted today! Looks so good.
