Right hi people,

First post on the forum so please be nice...
Right have an 2011 audi a7 3.0tdi currently sat on 310bhp with egr and dpf delete.
Map and dyno was done by ecotune Scotland by the previous owner.
Ive been looking at having a play with the engine currently in the shopping basket is a wagner intercooler, rs7 airbox with k&n filter (not for performance just love the increased induction noise) and dpf delete pipe.
Have spoken to venow hybrid turbo/turbo clinic Leeds about a hybrid but still not sure as mr diesel bobby singh doesnt feel theres a reliable unit available yet.
Would love people's input and thoughts
Thanks

Don't you believe me :)
The truth is that many turbo companies will change the compressor wheel but not touch the turbine. That in my book is not a hybrid that's a crude way of getting air in but no thought about getting it out.
There is a light weight turbine wheel available which I bought 25 of. But currently these leak oil, so they perform really well but leaking oil which is not acceptable. I'm hoping I can solve this issue as I recently made 430hp from one of these.

Before you say Darkside offer a turbo - well I've now tuned their BV50 hybrid and the 2260vk hybrid (they call them GTD2872vrk).The turbos that I've seen have a build quality issue (specially the BV50 unit). But more importantly both have very high exhaust manifold pressures. This means you end up reducing boost and therefore fueling which in turn means less power.

Then you have to weigh up the cost of their unit at over 2k Vs the performance

Was hoping you'd pass by
Reliability is the main issue really
Thats why i havent just grabbed the first off the shelf and slapped it on.
Im really just hoping youd hurry up and get yours sorted so i can come and grab one.
Have spoken to venom turbos there saying there 3 months out from having a ball bearing unit reliable and ready.

Been a while as the parts are taking forever to come. Currently the FMIC and DPF are sitting in the garage. The airbox should be here by the end of next week. K&N air filter has taken the p*ss. Ordered on 21/4 but isn't expected to be delivered until 7/6 ...
Ive spoken to them and state its due to production times blah blah ***eyes rolling***
So once that arrives we'll put everything on and wait for @bobbysingh to give us a shout .
Will do a video once everythings here going through installation of all parts.

@RAF_S7 was searching for the thread where we briefly spoke about brake pads.
Upgraded the brakes to the rs setup. Pads and disc have plenty of wear in them all but the squeal off them is ridiculous.
Any ideas?
Thanks

The OEM pads on the S7 were horrendously embarrassing when it came to brake squeal - the dust I could have lived with.

Whenever I drove onto my estate, the neighbours could hear me coming before they could see me!

Power washing and spirited braking cleared the squeal, for about half a day. But after a trip around town they were as bad as ever.

I ended up changing to the EBC Redstuff pads all round.

No squeal, and bonus - no dust. I’m about 30k miles in on them, and no complaints :racer:

Its beyond a joke to be honest.
Took them off greased them, cleaned them greased them again and it still sounds like a squealing mess.
Ill have a look and see if they do a set for the rs as ive had enough.
Thanks mate

Leave the stock air filter. Don’t bother with the k&n.

What am I thinking?
Im thinking you don't want to ruin your MAF and the compressor wheel
***sighs heavily***
Thanks bobby ill cancel the order.

Heard the problems they cause i.e oil on the MAF sensor etc but also heard of others running them fine. The induction noise is beautiful IMHO.
Dont want the problems and value your input...
So yeah just waiting on you now mate ***cough cough***

Here is a picture of a compressor wheel with a aftermarket air filter within 6months.

The car now has an unbelievable sound...not sure if i can keep it as a day to day as it is.
Lowish lool revs its fine but a slip of the foot and its just screaming and shouting.
Will have a drive for 48hrs and then have a think...
Will upload videos tomorrow.

Have you put a dpf delete pipe on with stock ecu map?
If the ecu decides to do a regen with no dpf you run the risk of bore wash.

No mate.
Car had dpf removed previously but the cut it out and weld back over job and dpf mapped out then.
Have just replaced the welded pipe with delete pipe.

Right been a while but still here still breathing loool...
Just wondering if anyone can help me with an active exhaust retrofit in the Birmingham/west midlands area for the single turbo 3.0tdi?
Any help would be appreciated.
Also was great to see some of you at AITP was a nice good day out until the heavens opened lool..
But definitely got a few ideas so watch this space....

I did the active exhaust retro fit in January bud to my 245Bhp ( now 306 bhp) A7 TDi.

Believe me you will love it. I got my back boxes fitted locally @ the guy I always use, then got all my wires and modules coded and fitted by Hazzy Dayz. Down past your way.

They were excellent @ coding and fitting it all ( on the wiring side) took them about 2hrs to do it.

I also fitted the kufatec active sound module @ the same time with remote.. ****** love the sound.. I have 6 sound settings and cold start option.. I have a remote for the 6 sound options and the on/off of the Active its self is all done Via OEM MMI display..

I currently have An RS7 rear diffuser and RS7 oval pipes waiting to get fitted..

Im tempted with the FMIC who's did you get? Is the airbox mode ( RS7 air box) worth doing hows it sound?

Yeah mate heard one on a 2.0tdi at AITP last weekend and had my mind blown.
Heard them online before but in person they are something else.
Have spoke to some lads not too far from me and have kinda been swayed by the "pro" package have quoted 1600 supplied and fitted.
The FMIC was wagner and is in preparation for an new turbo.
Not really sure of a power increase but honestly unless your going to upgrade the turbo later the price just to upgrade it without a noticable power increase isnt really worth it.
Will need a new SSP clutch aswell alongside the new turbo.
The rs7 airbox gave the induction noise a boost under load you can really hear the turbo spooling better. Wasn't really interested in power gains from it just the noise. The cheapest easiest noticable modification.

Including the kufatec sound module @ £350 & exhaust fitting & coding and 2nd hand exhaust boxes my total outlay was £1250
Have you got a bitdi?
As I've had 2 quotes so far and both have been 1600.
Is the packagge below what you have?
