^ snap, the colour helped me decide on the new colour of mine

Revo RV019 8.5x19 ET45 235/35 tyres, no spacers. The Wheel Specialist "Smoked Chrome" colour, black with a couple of wafts of silver I believe.

For those of you interested, I just replaced the stock 18" wheels on Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres with a set of 19" Fuchs-made OEM ones (post #164) on Conti SC5P and the weight difference was 2kg! 19.6kg vs 20.6kg

Awesome.

Here in Finland we would say that to be 1kg difference, but if that is 2kg in UK, then it is. Gravity is a bitch. :)

They drive on the left side of the road - they simply have their own rules, also for gravity and mass :whistle2:

Gravity is indeed different over here now due to Brexit!

Actually a typo; 21.6kg!

Ah, but in Suomi the tax man would require a good 40-50% of that kg too, so somewhere around 1.5kg? :p
explanatory note: The Finnish tax man is everywhere - I have a Finnish wife, and after 20yrs in the UK he still knows all about her and seeks occasional donations...

This doesn't seem to be the right thread for my question, but I didn't feel like creating a new one either so here it goes. For, eh, practical reasons, I had to downgrade from my s3 to an a3 (8v, sedan, 1.8 tfsi Quattro). Stock wheels look horrible, so I definitely need to replace them. What size would you guys say is the best looking (and, at least, to some extent practical), without having to do any modifications to the car (except for the 15mm factory lowering). I've been thinking about 235/35 R19, or 225/40 R18. Will 235/35 R19 wheels fit without looking like a tractor and without additional lowering necessary?

Other suggestions?

Edit: been mostly looking at 8.0 wide wheels, ET 35-45.

19" 235s on 8J wheels fit fine. Stock size for the S3 Saloon, RS3, etc. 1cm taller overall than the 225/40.

Great resource at wheel-size.com

Have done bronze bola b1 18” to try on my s3 by end of the week

No the real photo of my car but an image from a wheel configurator. The color of the car is spot on though. What do you think of these two options? It's Borbet GTX.

For some reason I don't have any better pictures of the car clean with good shots of the wheels, so this is the best I've got, I rarely see these wheels on other 8Vs and I think they look great.

i would go with grey, only if you can get rid of the outer silver lip, all one colour would work
Actually, I was considering a black option for a BE car, however I doubted the silver lip too. It's possible to plastidip the lip. The titanium grey look good too, so I doubt even more now :)

I wanted black wheels on a nano grey BE car, so the only colors would be grey and black. But I started doubting this wish because I saw many times how black wheels look when they are dirty, especially with the dirty tyres. IMHO, the tyres must not look lighter than the rims, but it's hard to keep them always clean and shiny. In this case, the silver lip helps as it visually separates the rim from the tyre. The black rotors are a good example.

Last summer I had BBS CH028 as in the first picture.

For this summer I had them powder coated to gun metal.

It's interesting that nobody mentions a new version of the RS3 rotors. The rotors v.1 were pretty popular on a 8P platform but I didn't see many times a next generatio, version 2, on a 8V A3/S3. Why are they so unpopular? It's because the RS3 uses staggered wheel setup and it's difficult to find all 4 alloys of the same size? Would you consider the new RS3 rotors if you had a good offer?

Where did you fit the wider wheels, front or back? They should be on the front, I know, but the RS3 has wider wings, unlike the S3.
Your car looks great btw with the black rotors. Why did you change?

Love the 19’s - I always have an eye out for a set.

Never see too many three doors with these for some reason.

And are they all staggered ? I thought it would only a specific colour of them were the staggered ones - as part of an upgrade package or something.

I like the plain silver ones - few on German eBay with winter tyres attached.

Not everyones favorite I know but I went for the classic rotors with "some" dish, I really like the Rotor 2 wheels on the RS3 but going for classics gave me a similar appearance but with a little more dish, Im happy with it. the Rotor 2's go for silly money too ATM.

Did a little image manipulation in order to see how these rims could look on my car. Personally, I like it. My wife likes it too. What do you think?

Yes, the RS6 style. These that I used for the image I cut off a real RS6 picture though, but the reps look the same.
