Hi Guys,

need some help from the detailing gurus here. I have a 2015 Audi S3 in glacier white. I also have a DAS6 polisher from a while back but I am not sure what pads and also polishes are good for correcting the hard audi paint. It has light marring and defects btw.

Any help greatly appreciated before I tackle the paint.

Thanks

I decided that my sepang blue rs3 was looking a abit swirled up so with a short time limit I hit the paint with a single stage correction with Meguiars microfibre pads and Meguiars d300.
Read up this was the recommended pad combo and to be fair came up a treat.
Removed quite a lot of the swirls and scratches and no dust which was a god send for wiping off.
Coated with cqautrz uk and topped up with P&S bead maker after each wash.

I was in same boat as you. Have a look at this thread...

hopefully it helps. I ended up using sonax perfect finish along with green hex logic pads. Extremely pleased with how it turned out

I used Sonax Perfectfinish and Hex logic green pads on my bonnet and wings yesterday. Gyeon coating goes on today.

Some marring after clay bar:

Marring gone, and Mythos Black “popping”:

@q5man Wow that’s some difference. Really shows up well on Black and those flakes in the paintwork! So many colours. The sonax perfect finish is really good. Surprised me how easy it is to get a good finish with it. My mums TT is Mythos, thinking of polishing her car with same products you’ve used (used it on my Navarra S3 too). It is quite addictive when you see how easy it is to get really good results

Thanks mate. This was my very 1st go with the DA (Car was single stage corrected and coated just over a year ago). I had noticed the beading and water runoff had deteriorated on the bonnet.

Love the fact also that there is no dusting with the Sonax, highly recommended from a complete DA novice

And by the way, the pictures don’t do the actual finish justice

Yeah really good product and you really don’t need much of it either. Felt the same with mine, tried every angle with pics but just doesn’t look as good as it does in person

There is nothing more satisfying than rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in on jobs like this or maintenance ones.
If you make a mistake at least you can learn where you went wrong and correct for next time.

Very true, but getting stuck in just on bonnet and wings yesterday for a couple hours has left me aching

Agree, that 250ml bottle will last a long time!
