What have you done to your 8V today?

Been busy with retrofitting leather seats yesterday. The rear ones were a breeze while the fronts were more tricky as they didn't have airbags in, so I had to move the airbags from the old (the old are 5 years younger then the new, lol). Actually I'm ready with the passenger seat only and I'm going to install it in an hour, then I'm going to repeat the same with the driver seat.
I am in the process of getting mine =) Be interested to have any tips or photos . Why did they not come with airbags ? The ones I am looking at are fully electric , did you have to fit any extra loom ?

I didn't take many photos, just some in order to make it look the same after disassembly-assembly. I didn't need to take more photos because everything can be found on Youtube:

Removing the back seat:

Replacing the side/seat airbag:

As to why the airbags are removed, this is some EU regulation, something about explosives. If you search German ebay, you'll find out that all the seats are sold without the airbags and safety belts and sellers state clearly that they will not ship seats with the airbags even on request. There are some exclusions, for instance I saw a seller from Holland who sells the S3 seats with the airbag. Some Polish sellers don't remove them too. But if the seller a company, they do by the law.

I needed an extra loom for the lumbar support adjuster, but both seats seems to be adjusted well by a previous owner and it looks like we had similar backs, so I didn't bother to wire it up this time. I'm not saying I wont do it, just not now, perhaps I'll wire it up on summer vacation.

New muffler delete and a weekend of pain correction and protection. Looks new again! Oh and cleaning the mess Audi made when changing the STronic oil

I would recommend staying away from Unique Ad (unique-ad.co.uk, CarPlay / reverse camera kits). I requested an RMA form for my CarPlay kit since it was having connection issues and freezing in general. I sent this request on the 22nd of March and still haven't had a reply yet.

Will have to contact the bank soon and worst case go down the route of the ombudsman / small claims court.

Edit: Nevermind, they just replied!

Just booked my car in with Turner Race Developments near Gloucester for my new clutch and remap. Going for a Wagner intercooler aswell. With all my add ons I'm hopeful for 380bhp. Fingers crossed. Anyone used them recently. Get 5 stars on reviews.

Not a lot unfortunately, booked it in to get summer tyres swapped over from winters. Nothing as exciting as the post above.

Decided to kurb a alloy. Luckily there not dimond cut or anything.

Done a decent amount since I last came on here! Eibach springs, K&N filter, EBC disks, stud conversion (for ease of taking wheels on and off!), Rieger Tuning diffuser, 5mm wheel spacers and mirrors changed to black. The photo was from a meet last week in Bristol. :thumbs up:

Went on a 100 mile round trip to sea houses today for some lunch as the car hasn’t done many trips on the longerside since I went on the sick 10 weeks ago

Cars a little dirty now from all the B roads. Got to say the s line suspension isn’t the best on B roads. You get chucked all over lol

It really confused me when he said it didn't. It is only since I've been looking for interiors that I saw one that had the middle arm rest extended, so gave it a tug today ......
Mine moves pretty easily without a "tug" so I'm amazed you've not realised this either haha. Mine moved forwards everytime someone else sits in the car in passenger seat and puts their arm on it. It's always fully extended. Well. Now you know :)

Mines really stiff hasn’t moved in 15k miles I wonder if it has never been adjusted from the factory ! Just funny when you discover somthing new after so long :whistle2:

Got Eibach Pro Kit fitted yesterday :yahoo: Added 8 mm spacers all round to the OEM S-line 18" rims at the same time. This was my third mod to my less than one month old car :) Pictures will come when the springs settle. As for now, here are my observations and thoughts.

- I didn't notice ANY changes to the bad regarding comfort. My wife didn't notice it either.
- Handling improved, as expected. There's less body roll in comparison to the oem sports suspension.
- The drop looks nice. I parked both my 8PA and 8VF side by side and the 8VF appears lower than the 8PA on the same Eibach pro springs (suitable for the car model and weight, of course) and 18" wheels. Perhaps the 8PA is higher due to the firmer Bilstein B4 dampers.
- I realised that I like the look of the "squarer" tyres more than the stretched. My 8VF has 7.5x18 rims while my 8PA has 8x18 ones. The less stretched (squarer) 225/40/18 tyre on a 7.5x18 alloy fills the arc better than the stretched 225/40/18 one on a 8x18. I'll keep it in my mind when I'll choose a new set of 19" wheels. Likely, I'll go for the oem 8x19 ones with the 235/35/19 tyres.
- 8 mm spacers aren't enough for the 7.5J ET51 (which makes it ET43) rims, especially on the rear axle.

It looks great with those black wheels. I have the same wheels in oem silver and I don't thnk they are as good as the darker version. Were your rims black from the factory or did you paint them? I consider to plastidip mine if I decide not to go one size up. Do you have more pictures of your car with these wheels?

I put the deposit down for mine... pick it up - all being well - this weekend. I'm like a kid at Christmas.

Changed from 20 to 19 inch rims as I needed to get a new set of tires for the 20's.

The look is growing on me and makes the car look far more grown up now

S3 nsx rear

Front with black badge for comparison. Left the S3 emblem chrome ( works well i think) as they are a right pain to change over from what I have read!

Rear with chrome for comparison too. Hope this helps!

Forget the S3. That NSX though :hubbahubba: ...'tis truly jaw droppingly achingly gorgeous. More pics of that please. Lovely understated paint (as understated as any paint can be on a legend reborn - I've yet to see one in the flesh). That exhaust is wonderfully crackers. Comes to something when the S3 is effectively your run-around daily 'beater'. I doff my hat sir - not a different ballpark, a different game entirely:hi:

Popped over to Saino's at lunchtime to check/set my tyre pressures (cheapest handling mod out there). Sat in the queue for 20 mins. Again. Googled cordless digital tyre compressors while I was waiting, and this was in stock at the Argos on the same retail park. Ordered on the phone with fast-track collection, ditched the queue, picked up 2 mins later, and NEVER going to queue at the forecourt to check/set my tyre pressures again.

Very happy with m'purchase - a good bit of kit with lithium-ion battery, quality brass valve connector, pressure release valve and comes with case and a bunch of attachments all housed within the body of the unit. Even came with gloves and x4 valve caps, which was a nice touch. Just connect it up, set the tyre pressure you want, turn it on and it it cuts off automatically when the job's done (in seconds). Can also do bike tyres etc.

For me, it was worth the impulse outlay to avoid the fortnightly frustration of watching feckless idiots fumble around and take 5-7 mins each (I timed 'em, lol) to do their tyre pressures (while also on their phones - 3 bell-ends did this is quick succession while I was waiting). I (not the car) nearly blew a gasket. Am I a Grumpy Old Sod? More so with every day that passes so I threw a few quid at the problem (once it's bought it's bought, eh). Lol.
