RS3 Orders (week 10/11)

I’m holding onto the M2 now I think.

It’s a lot of dosh that’s for sure but so would the repayments on a £35k loam. If you really wanted to keep the car then a loan to cover the gfv would work but I go through cars so frequently that pcp usually works for me.

Another thing to note is that say your going for a mortgage, a loan is looked on less favorably than a pcp deal so if you have to finance pcp or straight HP similar to your loan idea works best.

I’d also say I struggle to see any decent second hand ones out there that are not overpriced and with every man and his dog tuning cars these days I am wary of going second hand
Used prices seem to be holding up really well. Checked my TTRS today. Only 8 for sale on Autotrader, all of them not as nicely specced and they’re selling for more than I paid over a year ago. I would swap out as I usually like to try different cars. But to what for similar money that is as fast, as noisy and as good looking?!

Not a bad car to be holding on to mate . Also, used APR is way higher than new, so payments even higher than new so unless massive deposit or cash or own finance no good.

Yeah exactly I was quoted 700 per month with 7k down on the 45k random spec car I drove. I really just want the 5cyl noise to say I’ve had it and used 5 door practicality as an excuse but throwing £10k into a run out model just isn’t sitting right. I’d rather go back to a TTRS it’s much nicer visually to me but even my 9 month old is struggling to get in the back.

Stuff it, selling up and a Citroen Picasso inbound!

That is mad mate, as you say in run out model. If they upped the bhp with a RS3+ and added decent alloys and some extra kit you could kind of get it.

Picasso....now that must be an April Fool

Sorry no dealer contribution to the deposit, would still imagine there going to give me something off. Still waiting for it to come on to the finance system, so I can see numbers

The next RS3 is not gonna out for at least 2yrs (my opinion) so why not go for it.

Yeah I’m planning to order one regardless, just waiting to see what it’s going to cost me

Go onto magnitude finance and you can spec the cars, choose mileage and deposit and with an apr of 6.9% it will give you a fair idea of cost

Exactly why I can’t justify getting another atm.

Mine is 3 years old but still feels like new & as much as the facelift changes are nice, it’s just not enough to remotely consider changing.

So saving some cash & will wait for the next S3 or RS3 in 1 to 2 years.

Just have to say it...........is that 32k paid over 4 years for 24k miles............you must really want it for those numbers on likely a run out of a purely internal combustion RS3.

The amount of miles you do isn't the best way of gauging value. I could spend the same amount of time driving a car as someone else but do half the miles because they're doing long motorway journeys everyday and I'm not.

Have you not enquired with your BMW dealer on upgrading the M2 to the M2 Competition? I know it's pretty much the same car, but the changes seam to have changed the M2 into what it should have been from day one. The M2 compo, it the only BMW (bar an X3 40i) that I would consider. Was watching `Carfections` review of the M2 Comp the other day. I was seriously tempted.

Could be the last of a breed. Big power, manual gearbox, and RWD. As I'm sure the next M2 will be auto only. Not even sure when the all new 1-2 series cars are coming out?

I went onto `Carwow`, as I'm always being told BMW offer HUGE discounts. I got 2 offers. List price and £600 discount. Don't think so.

But if you are already a customer, the upgrade cost/discount may be more favourable than changing to a RS3.

I’d take the carfections review with a slight pinch of salt there isn’t that much of a difference and with the extra weight and now poor sound coming from the cows udders exhaust the Lci could over time become the more desirable option.

Discounts will come soon enough as the CS is on its way.....never ending!

Well to my surprise, I am sat in Bath Audi and there is a brand new RS3 going for PDI still with the body wrap on. Nardo Grey with silver standard wheels. Must be from the new builds??

Prior to that was a new S3, with awful black wheels that comes on one of the A5 black edition versions.. with the silver edge around the rim.

EDIT: evidence... didn’t know they were even building them at this stage?

Just had a look on the Audi UK configurator (passing the time on a quite Friday afternoon at work)....and what a load of shxx Audi !

Price increase for base SB to 46285, thats near enough 2k up from my 67plate.
No wheel options for black diamond cut rotors, and obviously no other wheels available, and what appears to be even worse is no staggered set up available.

And what is the sport pack (i think i know), but the audi configurator does not actually tell you.

What a crock of shxx from Audi....unbelievable, well actually its totally believable from Audi.

Fact is tbough i quite like Audi's, problably get the new model RS3 when available, god knows how much that will be, and when.

I'm still amazed their still making these with the new model A3 apparently around the corner...well perhaps the corner is actually around the bend then down the straight and round a couple of roundabouts !

It appears things are being pushed back that might explain this.
Also the new A class and the A45 which was supposed to be out at Geneva in March, now apparently its going to be seen at Frankfurt in Sep....

I can understand why Audi would put the RS3 back on sale as there is still demand for the cars so if they are going to make them money then why would they not, from a business point of view they can still make money from an existing model so it makes sense for them.

I would say the new A3 will probably be out next year sometime and the RS3 about 2 years from that so you looking at around 3 years for next RS3.

Chances of it being an old one is slim to none? Still with the transport wrap on?.. where’s it been? It looked spanking off the transporter, not like it had been in hiding for the last 6-9 months.

They have only been up on the UK site for a few weeks though (?) not possible surely for any to have been built yet?

Edit - dealer demo maybe?

Exactly I was so surprised to see it! Those fabric wraps wouldn’t last 5 minutes outside I’d imagine it would show the winter months of dirt, it looked fresh.

Wish I’d asked sales now, suppose somebody could call Bath Audi if they were that interested, I’m not I’ve had enough of Audi for now.

Audi/VW do have a headstart on Merc and BMW so it might be why they're so slow at releasing the new A3 model range since we already know what it'll be like from the new Q3. Both BMW and Merc are playing catch up, BMW going to make a 4WD 1 series with around 300 bhp, just like the S3/Golf R. Merc already released their version, the A35, so now there'll be 4 hot hatches with 4WD and 300bhp. The A45 still won't compete with the RS3 since it'll still have a 4 cylinder. BMW said they'll only put 6 cylinder engines into the 2 series and not the 1 series but that's a more limited market, but people already compare the M2 to the RS3 so that comparison will probably continue.

Just seen this video too, shows how fast the RS3 is.

Was in my local dealer this week and had an unplanned chat about a deal on a new RS3. A mixture of the GFV, 7.1% APR finance rate and average discount left me stunned at the monthlies. Whatever way I done the man maths, it would of been crazy to order one. Like others have mentioned, the optional extras this time round are also really poor...I’m now considering a used car.

The sports exhaust is part of the Audi Sport Edition pack. I mainly got the pack due to the super sport seats, it’s not a real Rs3 without sss
Has the black pack disappeared as I was having a quick look around the config site and can't see it? Can you only get ally trim now?

TX.

Only available on the Audi Sport edition - the standard one only has aluminium trim apparently...

How bizarre, so by picking this you have to get the pano roof and the nasty wheels from the sportback if you choose the saloon etc. Nuts.

Totally agree - I'm not keen on the wheels and didn't want the pano roof. Most stupid thing is you can't get the SS seats as they are part of this pack. Ridiculous on a 50k car!!

I am still waiting for Audi Newcastle to get back to me on monthly payments for an RS3 Saloon. What deposit and monthly figures were you quoted if you don't mind me asking?

I priced a Audi Sport edition RS3 saloon with a few extras, and along with a 8k deposit, the monthlies were £610 over a four year PCP. SERIOUS MONEY

I’m happy that I’ve decided against the idea!

That is VERY VERY serious money!. I read someone on here was able to get a 10% discount on a new RS3 in the past. I really wonder if that we be possible anytime in the near future...

That’s a lot considering the deposit, nearly £800pm all in.

What was the GFV?

Thanks

The GFV’s are now on the Audi website, based on 4 years 10k pa

Base SB - £21.6k, £9.6k = £479 monthly
Base Saloon - £21.4k, £9.9k = £499 monthly
SE SB - £23k, £10.4k = £529 monthly
SE Saloon - £23k, £10.7k =£549 monthly

The finance calculator isn’t yet working for adjusting miles etc but based on the S3 line moving from £5k to £10k barely moves the GFV as an idea. The numbers above looking poor in comparison to the magnitude finance numbers I posted earlier on this thread:

Sportback - £22,489
Sportback Sports Edition - £24,910

Saloon - £24,211
Saloon Sports Edition - £26,787

I specced a saloon sports edition to £52k and assumed a c.6% discount to get me back to £49k net. With a 7k deposit the monthly was £520 with the £26.7k GFV.

I think so. My fairly standard sline Q5 2.0 has a GFV of £20,995 after 4 years.

Should be at least &26-£27k, just look at Autotrader for what 3/4/5 year old RS3’s are going for and they sell like
Hot cakes. A colleague is looking for a PFL, with budget of about £35k and he is struggling...admittedly he is looking for high spec but they sell before he can get deposit down
