New summer wheels and tyres Pirelli P zeros 225/40/R18 92yAO (the new PZ4 annoyingly wanted the old version as they have better reviews) and a new set of wheels thanks to @craigpanthercrystal wanting some 19s.

IMG 5588

I swapped them onto my car myself and had a scary moment as I first drove of the drive to a horrendous banging noise. Turns out loads of the stones had stuck to the sticky patch where the label was !

Tyres price matched to Black Circles by Audi MK and fitted including active TPMS valves.
Just need to sort out the wheel arch gap =) Think the grey looks good with the blue =)

£2 worth of rim protection, don't quite have as much as the 19s or the slightly stretched look

Dropped her off at Tyneside Audi for cambelt and water pump.

Got a3 saloon 1.5cod as a hire car

Mine is due a cambelt and water pump change.. won't give me a hire car due to my age though. Guess I'll be sitting around for a few hours.

On a side note, I installed a wireless carplay kit from unique-ad today. It sucked, so I'm sending it back. Ah well.

Completely forgot to reply to your questions here mate!

But, you got it a little wrong. The thing with offset/ET is that it works the other way around, the higher the number the closer to the suspension.

ET45 will be 4mm closer to the arch than ET49. With a 8x19" setup you can easily get away with ET40.

So to get the same setup as me on the rear with your setup (8x19" ET49) you need a 18mm spacer (and here you have a choice of 15mm or 20mm as standard spacer sizes - you could get away with 20mm because your rim is narrower and thus won't stretch the tyre as much as mine)
ET49-ET45 = 4mm
8.5"-8" = 12,5mm (then you take half of it because the 12,5 is calculated from center of the rim to both sides), so = 6mm
And then you add my 8mm spacer which gives you 4+6+8mm = 18mm

Please ask if you have any questions! :D

You’re a legend @Lehn - thanks for this. All makes sense. It’s definitely a science!

Fitted my black high gloss Method Effects splitter :rockwoot: It really transforms the car together with the high gloss RS3 grill.

(I only have these quick snapshots but I'll promise you'll see a lot more images of the S3 when the weather gets better and I can snap some pictures with my DSLR)

Yep, the ME splitter is, as predicted, looking awesome pal. Good decision to get it painted gloss black. Any plans to wrap the ‘chrome’ trim around the side windows gloss black as well? Could complete the black edition look, and completely reversible. Think you can still get away with the silver wing mirror caps if you do this (or go carbon :rockwoot:).

Enjoying your posts mate - keep ‘em coming, and hope you get the rear bumper ding-age sorted :thumbs up:

Upgraded the 12v socket cover in the rear of the car, from cheapo cost saving tat version, to one that matches the front dash...

You're welcome :thumbs up:

And funny you should ask, I'm going to do some measurements tomorrow and then a friend of a friend will give me a quote for wrapping them gloss black :rockwoot: and I'm keeping the silver wing mirror caps because it's a S/RS thing and works well with the silver elements in the small air grills on each side of the front bumper.

Sounds like a plan :) Don't forget that the Black Edition has a satin black rear bumper diffuser with a gloss black trim.

I'm actually quite satisfied with the rear as it is right now. The grey diffuser compliments the daytona grey very well as well as the aluminium trim which matches the mirrors and grill/vents on the front bumper.

I don't want to replicate the black optics pack because then I could meet a S3 very similar to mine on the road and I must admit I'm into modding to make my car unique and as I want it :hi:

Black window trims and perforated front discs are next exterior-wise. Performance-wise I'll buy a JB4 together with a Ramair turbo elbow and silicone hose in a month or two :racer:

Been for a service and two front tyres on the S3 (and a service on the TT).
2.8mm left on the rears so two more tyres soon too.
Chatting to our sales contact in there too, and some worrying price increase news coming. Inflationary rise in April followed by a 10% “Brexit” increase after that. Already overpriced too and I told him that.

I agree that a lighter diffuser look nice on the daytona gray. I mentioned the black one because I got the black optics on my car, and the main reason for that was that I wanted black window trim which is available with the black optics package only. I could order the chrome window trim which is a half of the price of the black package, but as I dislike any chrome, I would wrap it in black or perhaps in matte aluminium, the RS3 style. And all that wrapping, if done properly with a quality vinyl, would cost me the same as the entire black optics package at the end.

I ordered the RS3 look grille with the black trim, so the oem A3 black optics grille will be sold after installation of the RS3 one. I hope the black A3 grille would have more resale value than the chrome one.

Same apply to the rear bumper diffuser. I bought a copy of the S3 diffuser off xenonz-uk. It's the same color as yours. It would look as good on the nano gray car as it does on the daytona gray. But I don't have anything titanium gray or aluminium/silver on my car so I guess the diffuser in this color would be out of place. I wish it wouldn't.

Cleaned leather interior with Colourlock products (thanks @jassyo06 for recommendation). I really like the result. Going to clean the rest - door cards with extended leather, an armrest and leather kneepads - tomorrow.

Took the S3 to Caffeine and Machine yesterday - a pub/cafe near Stratford-Upon-Avon aimed at petrol heads. Good fun chatting to other like minded car nuts, and a few interesting motors there. The boy was desperate to see a Lambo - we just missed an Aventador - saw one coming towards us when we were nearly there.

Good friendly place (had a few nice comments on the S3). It’s a bit of an Ace Cafe for the Midlands. Lemon drizzle cake was good too. Worth a drop in if you’re ever in the area. Only 20 mins from me, so dare say I’ll be back.

The 5.0 V8 Mustang paired with a manual gearbox is probably the only thing interesting and dramatic enough to tempt me away from the S3. Not crackers money either...

Brilliant ! Do you have a sportback 5 door ?
Yes, I do. The seats were removed from a PFL saloon though, but the saloon and the sportback interior is the same. I've also got leather wrapped covers that should be fitted between the rear backrest and the door. Not sure if they fit the sportback though, but that I'll see when I first begin installation.

Been looking for that interior for a sportback for awhile ! Where did you find yours ?

I bought mine on Allegro.pl. There are a few sets more, but they are for a LHD car (I live in Denmark).

Cleaned it, been neglected again for too long ... those poor exhaust tips.. bit of steel wool helped a little bit.

Had the radio playing (lights on too) and after some time (1 hour ish), the radio stopped playing, there was a battery sign on the driver display... guess this just means its turned radio off to preserve battery? Doubt would be flat, done 450~ miles driving since Wednesday..

Thanks just had a look think I'm going to be spending a fair bit of money ! Found a Capri Orange saloon interior I think all I will need to swap for RHD is the mirror control and I will have to remove and swap the knee bolsters on the centre tunnel. Seeing if the company will sell me black roof lining kit as well =)

How tidy was the interior you bought ? What did you pay for shipping ? Got any pics =)

The interior was tidy. I just cleaned it with the Colourlock strong leather cleaner and applied colourlock leather protector after it all dried off. I didn't take any pictures before the cleaning, but there was not much difference as the seats were clean and in good condition.

It was delivered on a pallet in a huge cardbord box. I paid 800 zl for shipping by Raben.

Is the RHD tunnel different from the LHD one?

May I ask who you bought from ?

Yeah weirdly the 12v socket is on the right the labelling for the automatic shifter gate is on the otherside too , along with the handbrake and bulbils being swapped too ... not sure if anything is physically different in the fittings ...

I bought from this seller. He was the one of the first four sellers who replied and was willing to ship abroad. Others didn't reply or replied in a few simple words, not even answering all my questions. I bought many things at Allegro and got used to this kind of communication skills of Allegro sellers.

Speaking on the tunnel, you don't need to replace yours with a "new" one in order to get the knee pads. You can replace the knee pads only. I asked you about a possible difference between the RHD and the LHD car because the left and the right knee pads are a little different and if the RHD tunnel is different from the LHD one, the LHD pads won't fit the RHD tunnel.

Fitted an R600 intake, turbo technics hose and turbo muffler delete. R600 fitment was woeful. Have sent an email direct to racingline.

Got a 3D wheel alignment after lowering and the S3 is now ready to hit the Autobahn next week :racer:

And yes I told him to max out the negative camber on the rear (-1.50) :whistle2:

Decontaminated with carpro Trix to remove tar and iron spots. Surprisingly a lot of tar spots, maybe it’s the grained finish..

Sealed with poor boys wheel sealant
Tyre shined with carpro perl
Quick squirt of meguiars x press wax to clean off excess tyre shine from wheel.
Great results. Don’t think it looked that good when new.
Will get round to fitting them this weekend or early next week after I give the car a good detail.

Been busy with retrofitting leather seats yesterday. The rear ones were a breeze while the fronts were more tricky as they didn't have airbags in, so I had to move the airbags from the old (the old are 5 years younger then the new, lol). Actually I'm ready with the passenger seat only and I'm going to install it in an hour, then I'm going to repeat the same with the driver seat.
