RS3 Orders (week 10/11)

What’s that car been doing for so long? (Assuming it’s a very early one registered on a 68)

It’s got the very, very early brake discs on it... that’s if those discs ever did come fitted to a factory FL RS3.... I know they were on the TTRS.

Done that little mileage but possibly replacement set of discs? Strange as it’s very late registered also.

The nearside rear tyre is odd!! Never, ever recommended should not only be changed in pairs for tread wear compatibility but last time I checked it’s illegal to run odd tyres on the same axel! Probably a P-Zero but the wrong type, straight side wall and won’t have the right tread pattern.

Looking at that, I’d absolutely walk away from it.

What you mean about the break discs? Also sent @AudiNutta a PM a week or so ago...

Have a look at the photos and compare the discs to yours, the disc bells in the centre are a different design and the drill pattern is different.. they are an older revision of discs and I can’t recall seeing them on a FL RS3 before if so very very few and doesn’t tie up with it being a ‘68 plate unless it has been in a showroom for 2 years.

Apologies bud, I’ve been non stop on my days off and back in work now. I’m always keeping an eye on the threads but trying not to get drawn into deep conversation until I know I’ve got the time to commit in replying properly. I will take a look at your PM now.

Configurator for RS3 is still not right, as if you add AudiSport pack (which includes pano, SS, black pack amongst other things) it still allows you to add (at a cost) pano etc.

I have been offered 2% off just now, I’m holding out to see the actual numbers once available before pulling the trigger

I’d definitely hold out. Got offered around 10% on the RS3 and TTRS when I got mine. Plenty others on here have also secured that level of discount. RS3 or not, it’s still a run out model, too.

Yeah I expect more mate, I doubt the dealer will go to that or anywhere near it. I’m not sure how keen they will be to drop 10% on the first run of orders though and in my head I’m thinking secure one before it’s too late. I’m not keen on the next gen touch screen setup and no doubt an ever increasing price.

I’ve also got to be honest and say letting the M2 go isn’t going to be easy at all and it’s quite a chunk of change to switch cars so that’s also holding me back a little

Yeah the M2 is a lovely car. I’m the same though and get bored easily. I usually swap every year. Nearly kept the RS3 but then had an unbelievable opportunity to get into a TTRS. Over a year now and loving it more each day.

And given the weather is changing to warmer times, even harder to justify ditching the M2 I am sure. That said, ordering now might mean July/Aug/Sep delivery at which point weather changes again

It’s a big decision to change with pc values as they are. At the moment discounts are hard to secure. But will come more available over the next few months. The build time I’m sure will increase too. I’m without a car at the moment, so had to bit the bullet!

I’m also weighing that up as the trade has me in 3k neg equity but not that Audi know it that was a good trade going on what I know of other owners obtaining. So I’m also considering taking my pants down and sucking it up as it could be 6 months of no car payment which helps to offset the loss. If I wait who knows how much more of a hit the M2 takes

Just be careful of build /delivery dates mines was supposed to be September 18 but ended up being June 18 which was lucky as they stopped production so would have been still waiting but meant I didn't have as much time to save the additional money I wanted to put towards the car.......sometimes it does work out the other way when they suddenly find free build spots

Agreed ... 2% to 4% is very stingy and that would be expected when the car launched brand new so at this stage in the cars life that is very tight by the Dealers.

As noted though, the car has just gone on sale again & the Dealers know the people who order early will always pay a bit more ... but they get the car quicker, so its all relative.

Floret silver is a killer colour. Surprisingly rare. I had it on my pfl, and now don’t want any other car in any other colour!

Totally agree - it’s a stunning dark shade isn’t it. I think I could easily go for it again too.

Any reason you didn’t select the sports exhaust Richard?
The sports exhaust is part of the Audi Sport Edition pack. I mainly got the pack due to the super sport seats, it’s not a real Rs3 without sss

I did consider mag ride, after living with it for the last 3 years, I’ve decided I’d like to try the mss spring kit and slightly lower the car too, without having to get the suspension calibrated

I felt the stock suspension rode pretty well on the test drive vs mag ride in my TTS which was all but useless in dynamic on uk roads

Hopefully I’ll have made the right decision, my initial expected build date is early June. I’ll find out soon enough

On the assumption your not a cash buyer, I assume you don’t yet know final numbers for deposit/monthlies etc

As far as I’m aware the Figures are not available yet. It’s a replacement car, as mine was stolen. So I could be classed as a cash buyer with the insurance payout.
It’s not put me off the Rs3, bad things can happen.

Fortunately I’ve got a double garage and the M2 is well tucked away, I think the RS3 will draw more attention so I am glad I’ve got option to keep it out of sight.

Hopefully no issues with your new one.

Yeah thats not too good, i got 5.9% but that was 67plate on Sep 17.

Blame Brexit
Nothing to do with Brexit, exchange rate is better now that it was when 5.9% was available. Blame greedy Audi

Terrible! Surely at that rate trying other finance options, such as PCP through another provider?

Finance providers are having a laugh to be quite frank. Money is still cheap, interest rates are still on the floor and not going up anytime soon and net interest margins are as wide as they've been for some time. Just checked Oracle Finance who were one of the better ones and was shocked to see they are now charging 7.95% APR!

It makes a huge difference to payments. But most people haven't got tens of thousands sat in the bank and need to borrow to get the car, so if they all do the same, what can you do? I suppose car sales will get hit and they'll have to do some promotions and deals again...

It may not directly be Brexit's fault, but for those greedy motherFer finance houses its a great excuse (i.e so called uncertainty) to wack the rates up and stiff joe public.

I got 5.9% APR three week ago on a brand new S3

Still showing as 5.9 on the S3 variants

It’s looking less likely I will take my beasting jumping to a run out model. I think I’ll be holding out for the new M3 after all.

As an example I stuck a 52k car discounted to 49k into magnitude finance.

6k p.a, 4 years with 7k deposit
GFV - c.£26k
Monthly - £520
6.9 apr

Edit: I should say that’s on the sport edition saloon.

GFV’s on Audi’s 5k pa likely to be:

Sportback - £22,489
Sportback Sports Edition - £24,910

Saloon - £24,211
Saloon Sports Edition - £26,787

It’s a no brainer to go for the sports edition even if the wheel choice is bananas

Just have to say it...........is that 32k paid over 4 years for 24k miles............you must really want it for those numbers on likely a run out of a purely internal combustion RS3. Is there no way to finance through a normal loan provider e.g. put £14k down, borrow 35k over 5years (with a nice Audi 5year warranty in place) then at the end of it regardless of mileage it is yours?

Bad vibe for money providers on here! They have a captive market so why wouldn't a business charge what they can?
There is a lot of risk out there at the moment going forwards so not that surprising, ask somebody who does have a few quid lying around what they would charge in order to be bothered.

I would go find a garage queen of maybe 18months old.

I’m holding onto the M2 now I think.

It’s a lot of dosh that’s for sure but so would the repayments on a £35k loam. If you really wanted to keep the car then a loan to cover the gfv would work but I go through cars so frequently that pcp usually works for me.

Another thing to note is that say your going for a mortgage, a loan is looked on less favorably than a pcp deal so if you have to finance pcp or straight HP similar to your loan idea works best.

I’d also say I struggle to see any decent second hand ones out there that are not overpriced and with every man and his dog tuning cars these days I am wary of going second hand
